I loved the cabin and its energy. It is even more beautiful in pictures than in person. The host was very friendly and her dogs and cats were cute and ready to be pet. The landscape looks like a postal card. Strongly recommended!

Michele has a kind heart and her animals are as sweet as pea. Very relaxing. Plenty of wildlife activity to watch on the river (bears, jumping sturgeon, osprey carrying fish). And it’s a short drive into Hope from the cabin.

Such a wonderful spot! Had everything we needed and great details. We spent our time swimming and chilling listening to the sound of the river. Hosts were lovely, available and close by. The space was peaceful and private. It felt like we were far from the city but took no time to get there. We would highly recommend and will be back. So lovely!

We absolutely loved staying at Greg & Shelly’s! As we entered their very private driveway, It felt like we were going into a movie. There were cute little white figures hiding on the trees all the way to there house. And the tent was beautifully set up. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen was tiny but had everything we needed. Outside shower was very romantic. It was great taking a warm shower in the forest. Private access to river was amazing bonus. Shelly and Greg were really really nice. We will definitely be back!

The photos they shared were already beautiful, but the actual experience was even more stunning in real life! An absolute dream little getaway! Such an incredibly beautiful spot, and only an hour out of vancouver. Cosy tent with all the facilities you need, and not even the pouring rain could dampen our experience. Greg and Shelley were super friendly and helpful. We needed a few days away from the city for some fresh air and natural beauty, and we definitely got it! The bath under a canopy of trees was magical, and the white noise of the rushing river knocked us out every night. Highly recommend!

When to go

Located near BC’s west coast, Chilliwack has warm dry summers and cool wet winters, with temperate spring and fall weather in between. Campers should come mid-week in summer, if possible, since weekends are usually quite busy. You might find campsites more easily in the spring or fall. Although winters can be rainy with temperatures above freezing, be prepared for snow at higher elevations.

Know before you go

As British Columbia’s seventh-largest city, Chilliwack has plenty of stores where you can buy food and drink, camping supplies, and other outdoor gear.
British Columbia’s Fraser Valley is an agricultural region, so stock up on fresh produce at local farm stands. Blueberries are a highlight during the summer, as is fresh corn in the late summer or early fall.
Planning to camp in one of the provincial parks? Both Cultus Lake and Chilliwack Lake get very busy in summer, so reserve your campsite in advance.
