Hold it Flats is a 120 acre property that borders the beautiful O'Connell River that has water all year round. Take a walk around the property to check out some of the creatures that have been built out of scrap metal and bush bars that have been built all around the property. There is nice shady trees, green grass and flat camping sites right beside the river with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is plenty of room and some great tracks for the kids and the big kids to ride their push bikes on. The swimming hole is about 2 meters deep and has big shady trees on the edge. There is also enough room for kids to bring their kayaks and have a paddle along the river. We have some hiking tracks up around the hills of our property that have amazing views of the area. All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken with you, there are no rubbish bins provided.

The area has mowed grass, plenty of trees for shade, ground is nice and flat and is only about 20 meters away from the river.  You can choose your own campsite space and group together. Hot showers, flushing toilets and fire pits are provided. We always keep an area free from campers on the rivers edge (between Riverside sites 2 and 3) so you can take your picnic blanket down and watch the kids swim and enjoy a relaxing drink. Pets on leash are welcomed. Please note that Check-In time is strictly 1.00pm and Check-Out time is strictly 11.00am.

Lovely grassed and flat sites with nice shady trees.  There are 8 flushing toilets and 8 hot showers. Big covered area with BBQ, sink, tables, chairs and a comfy lounge to rest on. It's also a great area for the kids to ride their push bikes around with a few tracks, hills and gullies to test their skills out.  It's only just short walk across the road to the river and we always leave space for people to take their picnic blankets down and sit on the edge of the river. That way you can have a relaxing drink while you watch the kids swim. Generators are allowed but can only be run from 8.00am to 5.00pm. Pets on leash are welcomed. Please note that Check-In time is strictly 1.00pm and Check-Out time is 11.00am.

This area can be hired out for private functions such as weddings, birthdays and gatherings. We would like at least 1 month's notice to hire this area out if possible. This area is completely separate from the rest of our camp ground and has nice grass, shady trees, toilets, showers and a camp kitchen. There is also a big wood smoker oven and BBQ that can be used. We have also built a small pool that you can sit and relax in.

First time staying there and it was beautiful. Camped by the creek which was a favorite for the kids as they spent most of the time in the water kayaking and on the rope swing. The water was crystal clear which made it easier to spot the turtles, fish and eels. We took the kids for a walk to the look outs and we were all eager to see what set-up creation was at the next location. Will definitely come back again!

Host were amazing, facilities always kept immaculate and grounds very well maintained. Kids were playing in the creek all day catching tiny fish and prawns. Plenty of space to spread out, for the kids to ride their bikes, play cricket, soccer, footy. Thank you for having us!

Overall, a beautiful location & creek to swim in, but a bit dear for what's on offer compared to other hipcamps we've stayed at. We expected the price would reflect a spacious site with some privacy. Unfortunately, because of the firepit boundary given to us, we were 2m away from our neighbours. We heard every word they said & constant bass music from another camp. It was as busy as a caravan park which is what we were trying to get away from. The uneven, narrow sites were a challenge, so our set up was sloped towards the creek & firepit because the flat section (which would be better to set up on), was used as a thoroughfare for vehicles. It felt like the priority was cramming in as many higher paying sites as possible for profit, rather than giving visitor's a comfortable & peaceful creek-side camping experience. We still enjoyed our time, but it wasn't the off-grid experience we'd expected based on what's advertised & the reviews.

Being able to camp on a grassy site beside a river with clean showers and toilets , a camper’s delight ! The extra bonus of our own fireplace with firewood available to buy , was a special treat on a cold evening . I look forward to returning again soon .

Katie’s attention to detail is outstanding. The amenities are excellent, the infrastructure well maintained, instructions clear and respectfully enforced (ie no noise after 10pm on Friday means we had a great night sleep even thought there were many campers). We loved the quirky bars and thoughtful add-ons (cool water at the top of mountain, coffee orders, firewood and washing). Wish there were more people like Katie!

What a place, Kate is amazing. Sites really tidy, toilets and showers very well maintained. No wonder why they are booked so many weeks ahead. The campground is pet friendly so expect dogs barking at night.

We had a great time a hold it flats. The camping area was nice and spread out. We went on a Friday night out of school holidays and it was about 2/3’s full. Maybe a bit less. The kids had a blast on the rope swings and riding there bikes around. Was safe for them at 7 and 5. The water was nice and clear but a bit chilly at the end of May. The facility’s were very good. Hot showers and flushing clean toilets. We will be heading back for sure.

The camping grounds are so well kept and there is a large verity of sights to choose from . Fire pits provided and pets allowed. The amenities are great with beautiful hot showers, great on the cooler nights.

It was a great atmosphere right from when we arrived, Katie was very helpful with our enquires before we arrived and even more helpful when we discovered that we'd left our chairs at home and supplied them for our stay. The showers were lovely and hot and the amenities were clean and fresh. The grounds are well cared for with a lot of hard work from Katie and Jason. Well with the experience and we'll definitely go back.

Katie was very helpful, friendly and easy to communicate with. Her property was easy to find and very accessible. We loved the grassy, spacious sites and enjoyed a warm fire. The showers and toilets are a welcome comfort. We have decided that next time we travel through, we will definitely stay longer.
