Welcome to Goolabri, a peaceful country escape just 10 minutes from Canberra. Set on land that was once a golf course and surrounded by natural bushland, it’s the perfect place to slow down, breathe out, and enjoy a relaxed stay in nature.
Camp near our dams, wander the nearby nature reserve, and wake up to the sounds of birds and the sight of kangaroos grazing nearby. It’s an easy, quiet getaway that still feels close to everything.
Suitable for tents, campers, vans, and caravans, with good 2WD access.
Small campfires are permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren’t in place. You’re welcome to collect dead wood from the old golf course area (please don’t collect from the nature reserve).
No pets permitted.

The Hidden Fairway offers a variety of sites to choose from.
Perch your site on a retired golf tee, or nestle in amongst the trees along the edge. Circle the wagons on open plains, or find the perfect spot in between.
Suitable for Tents, Campers, Vans and Caravans.
Nature reserve for walks.
Occasionally we host private events at our event venue 500m up the hill. These events will not interfere with camping but can sometimes be loud until 11pm. If this is an issue for you please contact us prior to booking and check if an event is on.
Please ring on arrival if it has been wet so we can find you a dry spot.
The toilet block is the small green building amongst the pine trees. Please bring your own toilet paper.
The Hidden Fairway offers a tranquil camping experience with lots of wildlife, including kangaroos and birds, enhancing the natural atmosphere. Its proximity to Canberra makes it a convenient choice for both city explorers and those seeking peaceful retreats. While many campers appreciated the spacious and private sites, some noted issues with the cleanliness of the toilets and narrow entrance for larger vehicles. Despite these concerns, the site remains a popular choice for its easy access to nature and city amenities.
Basecamped here for the weekend to check out the Floriade Nightfest, and then the Floriade daytime the next day.
No fuss booking was extremely simple. Instant booking with all the information required to find the spot at the time of booking. No need to contact the host unless you need to.
Pull in and find a suitable spot. There were about several other caravans and a few ground tents spotted about.
This site was lovely, it was close to Canberra but far enough away to enjoy nature. The Toilets were basic but clean, and many different camping spots to pick. 5G worked well too. But the animals and the Sunsets were the best . Roo’s, sheep and great Aussie birds to bring a wonderful experience . I would return again👍🏻
We enjoyed our stay. It was very roomy, even though there were a few other caravans we had a lot of space around us. Nice and close for us to drive into Canberra.
Camping by the dam with lots of wildlife, especially kangaroo's, made for an enjoyable few days. I was worried when reading previous reviews about the toilet not being clean but we found the toilets clean and probably better than other hipcamps we have stayed at. Close to Canberra and a great pub at Eagle Hawk only minutes away. My only comment would be the gate in/out was a little small for big rigs due to building materials near the entrance. Made it Tight to get in and out of and we witnessed a couple of large vans having trouble with this.
Nice spot . Gate entrance. too narrow , and difficult to approach with large van . Trees at entrance need trimming . Overpriced for no power and water .
First time hip camping. Family of five in a Trackabout camper trailer. It was very quiet, the kids loved the wildlife and everyone enjoyed the flushing toilets.
We loved camping with our van with the views of the dam and white trunk eucalypts , spacious green areas to enjoy a campfire ( bring own wood?). Very quiet and proximity to an easy trip to Canberra
Dans Hipcamp at Sutton was lovely, lots of space, water view was pretty, lots of shade as well. Very good to have the toilets.
Great it was so close to Canberra.
Thanks Dan
The Hidden Fairway was a great camping site, lots of wildlife. There are some open sites by the dam and more secluded sites up the rise.
It is so close to the city, it is an easy drive to the capital and all it has to offer and Eaglehawk hotel is only minutes away by car for a good pub feed.
I was there with only a few other occupied sites and it was very private and peaceful.
Top little spot plenty of space ideal for stopovers on the way tonthe snow etc or longer stays facilities are basic and clean but if your self contained this wouldn't be a problem. We only had 1 other Van. Will probably stay again
Awesome space. Plenty of wonderful spots and so close to Canberra. We’ve camped here a few times and it’s always been so easy and lovely.
Thanks Dan for having us.
Such a lovely little spot. We spent 2 nights there with a fairly big group and had an awesome time.
There was plenty of space for everyone to roam. Kids ran around from wake up to bed and were absolutely exhausted.
Bonus being so close to CBR.
Great get away from the city absolutly perfect being so close to home yet feeling isolated
Close to eaglehawk to run and grab a nice feed or scooter of the servo incase you forgot anything
We had the place to ourselves and it was delightful sitting by the fire listening to the frogs in the dam! Perfectly located to Canberra for day trips. Will be back.
