A firepit provided with wood available for purchase.
You need to be a self-contained camper with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. There is a picnic table for camp meals and access to rubbish facilities.
Pets welcome, please ensure your pet is restrained if it's likely to chase our livestock.
4WDs are recommended to access our property, and are required in wet conditions.

Riverside Farm Retreat is 13 km southeast of Narrabri. It is a horse breeding farm on the banks of the Namoi River, set over 500 acres, where guests can enjoy camping, fishing, canoeing, and relaxing.

travel east 13 kms out on old Gunnedah Rd (continues on from Main Street). Past Mining camp on your right. Over Bulewa Ck bridge, go PAST Pikes lane on your left, take NEXT turn LEFT onto Maules Ck Rd. View to your right, house on river and yards on left, Riverside Retreat sign on the gates.

Caravans & Campers
DO NOT TURN INTO MAIN GATE OF HOMESTEAD.
Continue on 300 mtrs past main gates just around corner turn right over cattle grid.
Make your way towards the river and find a nice spot if you have not already been allocated a site. Reverse pack on river front sites in peak periods only.
POTABLE WATER : there are 4 tapes provided for you to top up or drink. It’s Bore water and very clean and fresh.
We have 🐓FRESH FARM EGGS: Just ask us when you arrive - $7 per dozen 🥚
There is good access for caravans and campers - to get to the property is all tarred roads, with no gates to open, just a cattle grid to cross.
The camping area is spread over a beautiful, wide green grassed space, with plenty of level ground.
Fire pits are provided bring your own wood. Do not light fires outside of fire pits unless you have an above ground fire pit of your own. Under no circumstances tip fire ashes over river bank put all ashes into large round below ground fire pits. Near toilets.
There is an abundance of bird life here, including our pet emu Pepper who roams freely, occasional visiting kangaroos and cattle moseying down in the afternoon sunset to drink from the river opposite.

Set 10km outside of Narrabri on a dirt road is Narrabri Fish Farm (Outback Fish Farm). Camp in the serenity alongside 100 ponds. Take the daily fish feeding tour at 10.30am or go fishing and yabbying - booking in advance is recommended.
Brand new amenities block with accessible toilet and shower, there is also the donkey shower for those who want to be adventurous.

This was a great site to camp as the Host had is neatly mowed and they also mowed track to the river.
There is not much access to the river if you intend on fishing though.

Rohan's spot down by the river was beautiful. Very peaceful with only the birds (and curious cows 😊) for company and plenty of space to walk or relax in nature. The huge firepot made from a bulldozer track added warmth and ambience in the evening, as did the solar-powered fairy lights nearby. Rohan was an excellent host, greeting us on arrival with home-grown oranges and eggs and making sure we were settled in our spot. Only a short drive to Barraba for fresh fruit and veg and friendly town folk. Highly recommended and a great spot to hipcamp.

This was our second time staying at the fish farm ‘ Rick had done so much in 1 year since we last stayed ‘ new shower & toilet block in an quirky outback style ‘I love that when you arrive they bring you firewood for the very large firepit at your camp and it’s free just fantastic service we enjoyed a few cold ones with Rick and Brian ‘ I would highly recommend staying here it’s an awesome spot ‘ will definitely go back again

Rick’s camp is awesome. We took our grandkids they loved the large open space, the stars at night so beautiful . There is also the fish farm tour we took. So interesting and fun. We didn’t get to do the fishing but would definitely come back and do . Rick and his wife give the place the most beautiful vibe . Very relaxing even with grandkids . Thanks for sharing your property guys, we highly recommend.

I was on a motorcycle trip and camped here overnight. So great when you're tent camping to have toilet and water available and the location by the creek is picturesque and peaceful.
Plenty of fire pits as well for use.
Ian came over and had a chat- really friendly host. We have a trip up north coming in December and we'd really like to come back again with a camper trailer and dogs.

We had a lovely time staying for 2 nights. Rick bought fire wood each afternoon which we made lovely fires from to cook dinner. We did the tour on the last day and had breakfast before hand. Rick can cook a great bacon and egg burger!!! The tour was great and worth doing!

A great property and very easy to access. Had some noises outside the van around 1.00am which initially was a worry but found out it was a visit from some cows lol. They were demanding attention and even rubbing themselves against the van. Very funny after the initial shock. Recommend a stay there as the outlook is very beautiful.

An unexplained natural wonder on the border of the beautiful Pilliga State Conservation Area, Yarrie Lake was most likely formed by an asteroid. To this day, the lake resembles an almost lunar landscape.
