This property has been in the Shine family for many generations. The property has primarily been used for beef cattle farming, although in the early 2000's was shortly used to milk sheep, along with corn cropping. Currently the farm is home to roughly 100 breeders so you might be lucky enough to see a few cute little calves running around.Roeland's Lookout Retreat is nestled away in a tranquil and quiet location. The location is situated on a working beef cattle farm. Our "Lookout" site is located at the top of the property and gives a stunning view of the whole farm We are also just 20 minutes from Bunbury where you can find plenty of beautiful beaches and sites to explore. Campers are required to be self-sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the evenings, pending there are no restrictions in place at the time of your stay. Whether you're looking for a great place to stop for the night if your on your way down south, or make a family weekend out of it, come see what's on offer. **Please note, there is no access to the river from this site, there is a small creek at the bottom of the hill but don’t mistake this for the river, this is only accessible with our “riverside” site.

The Lookout
Beautiful view, however everything else was not what was expecting from an camp site. Terrible uneventful surface left by previous vehicles in the wet season and take that there was no tiolet facilities, humane dried out poo found on the left edge off the camp. Take the hot summer weather in WA only one shaded spot that was on the left side off the camp. If the spot is maintained it would be an incredible experience. Sadly I left early the next morning.

The Lookout
Great view of the lower paddocks and water way, beautiful Sunsets and Sunrises, a picturesque setting on a clear, but rough plot, without neighbours. The only downside would be the noise from the near by high way and train track, didn’t bother me but some might be concerned.

Ideal Isolation
We stayed in a caravan on Site 1, a 'grassy knoll' with spectacular views over the neighbouring paddocks and cows. If isolation yet proximity to Bunbury is what you're after... you've found the perfect place to stay. Loved it... beware, on windy days it is very exposed.

The Lookout
Great spot with a great view!
The Lookout was, as the name suggests, a perfect spot to park up for the night and enjoy the views! The beautiful creek flowing down to the east of the camp was teeming with birdlife and we enjoyed watching the cattle graze in the paddock below. We were treated to a moody, yet beautiful, sunset during the evening while we sat and played cards. The site is large and has a bonus firepit (which we did not use due to fire-bans), so we are thinking we'll come back with some friends in winter to enjoy it then!
