Excellent communication! Camp sites are well spaced. We enjoyed walking down to the river. What a beautiful place.
Awesome, expansive campgrounds with a comfortable amount of space between camping spots. Forest walk down to a stunning portion of the Cowlitz river. Hosts were generous and communicative. Highly recommended.
We had a great stay. Tyler, Tammy and Greg checked on us a few times. Made sure that we had any questions answered. The weather did not hold up well and Hreg gave us his number in case of an emergency. The site was clean and spacious. The porta potty was cleaned daily while we were there. The river was a 7 minute walk from our dry camp site and the trail was well taken care of. The river had soft sand and we watched a hawk dive into the water. Would stay again. TY!
We went tent camping and we had a great stay. We met Tyler, Tammy and Greg. They checked in on us a few times. The weather didnt hold out well and Greg even gave us his number so we can contact him in case of an emergency. The bathroom was very clean, it was cleaned daily. Plenty of room at the site for tents and setting up pop-ups. The river was about a 7 minutes walk on a very nice trail. We would 100% stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay. The owners introduced themselves to us and were extremely kind. They even let us borrow their propane fire pit during the burn ban and gave us great recommendations for around town. The river was one of our favorite spots to hangout and look for cool rocks! It was surprisingly sandy and calm. The site doesn’t offer a ton of privacy with trees, but plenty of space between sites. The toilet was cleaned daily by owners.

Great site - clean easy access to river, and very friendly and helpful staff!!
Owners met us when we arrived and got us oriented. Lovely walk to the river. A little road noise but not bad. I would come again.

Our favorite part about this site was its only a 5-10 minute walk to a beautiful part of the Cowlitz river. The hosts were also so nice and encouraged us to pick blackberries on the trail. We very much enjoyed our stay
Loved camping at Tyler's place. I learned a bit about the history of the site and how each site got it's name. We camped with family from Tacoma and this was the perfect halfway point for all of us.
Our site was level and hook ups were easy. We definitely will be back for family camping trips.
This was a beautiful site very easy to pull into the river was nice and easy to walk to the river edge is a sandy beach nice place to put your feet in. Lots of space between campsites was kept nice and clean. And the garbage was picked up regularly and the out house was nice and clean.
And Tami and Greg were wonderful. Definitely will be back soon.

The camp hosts were wonderful but the all night trains and middle of the night to early morning roosters crowing was horrible. Restrooms were clean though
Overall our trip was fun, the river is close, the sandy beach is amazing, sliver lake is close by. We were very thankful for the hosts partitioning off 3 sites for our large group. Coming over to greet us & make sure we are aware of camp layout & rules.
Downfalls are there is ONE porta potty for the whole camp. Each camping site can host up to 6 guests, 10+ camp sites; luckily the camp ground wasn’t completely booked so we didn’t have to face that fiasco. But the bathroom situation was less than ideal, very stinky I would suggest to anyone bring your own bathroom.
There are no clear indications where your camp fire coal should be dumped, our camp sites were covered in mounds of charcoal ash. Huge dust clouds anytime you walk, no chance it not being covered in dust after the day. Yes, I understand we’re camping but there’s just common courtesy for the people who camp after you.
The camp sites are right near an extremely active road, with a neighbor who loves to use it as a race track in the middle of the night. By middle of the night I mean midnight-2am, reving their engine & speeding up and down the road multiple times.
To make it that much better, there’s two roosters nearby who can’t tell time. Crowing in the middle of the night, for a LONG TIME.
Clear directions and easy site to set up. We loved having access to the Cowlitz river for our dogs! Was pretty quiet when we were there.

It was awesome! We are big campers but normally we stick to bigger campgrounds. This blew us away! Great, large sites, lots of space between campers. Super clean porta potty- we watched them clean it each day, impressive! Great proximity to the river and the beach area was sandy and was low enough to wade or swim! Our dogs loved it too. Would and will stay again.
J Squared River Ranch

J Squared River Ranch was an incredible place to stay. The property has a peaceful, natural atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and get away from the everyday grind. One of my favorite parts was the great hike down to the river, where you can enjoy the beautiful Cowlitz River and spend some time cooling off in the water.
The campsite has a wonderful rustic feel and gives you a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. Between the peaceful surroundings, the hike, and access to the river, there’s plenty to explore and enjoy.
I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend J Squared River Ranch to anyone looking for a peaceful outdoor getaway with beautiful scenery and access to the Cowlitz River. I’d happily come back again!

Sites are spacious and spread out. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Communication was great!
Tammy and Greg are awesome hosts! I was on a motorcycle ride and they helped me with some creature comforts out of kindness. Also gave me some great places to eat that I never would

Great place to camp during a mt saint helens adventure or while passing through. The property is beautiful. The porta potty was clean and stocked. There is cell phone signal if that is important to you. It is currently blackberry season and we were given permission to pick them. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. Despite the road being close it was not loud all night. Fell asleep to the sound of crickets. There was a rooster on I assume a neighboring property but we wanted an early start anyway.

What a wonderful spot to stay! The property was beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by lots of trees that provided plenty of shade from the sun. We loved being able to relax in such a pretty, natural setting.
The water access was definitely one of our favorite parts of the stay! We had so much fun enjoying the river while we were camping and it really made the trip feel like an adventure.
A few things to keep in mind when planning your stay: this is definitely a come prepared with everything you need kind of campsite. I would recommend bringing your own camping table, chairs, and any other supplies you'll need. There is one porta-potty shared by the campground, so if you prefer having your own bathroom setup, definitely bring a portable toilet.
Our host was wonderful to communicate with and was quick to respond to messages, which made everything easy and stress-free.
And one unexpected highlight was the little gas station grill just a couple of miles down the road! They had one of the best burgers I've enjoyed in a very long time. I'm gluten-free and was able to get mine as a lettuce wrap, and I had no issues with cross-contamination — which is incredibly rare for me and was such a pleasant surprise!
Overall, we had such a fun and memorable stay. We would absolutely stay here again! 🌲🏕️🌊

I really don’t want to post a good review because this place is awesome and don’t want it to fill up! Great beautiful spot. Big open site and the walk to the river is short and the beach was fabulous. Hosts were welcoming and informative. Definitely will return. Thank you for sharing your property. What a great find.
Easy to get to, nice welcome , lovely open grove of tall trees, although not private, such a pretty walk to the river, clean. Flat grass parking areas.
We had a great experience tent camping here. Lots of spots, clear communication, well-kept, and a beautiful river spot to visit and catch the sunset. A bit of road noise overnight, but nothing that was overly disruptive.

Hosts were incredibly accommodating and friendly. Lovely camp, excellent river beach (if the river is low enough), lots of space between sites, port-o-potty for restroom but hosts cleaned it every day. Hook ups were in good shape. I even earned a gold star from our camp host ;-) We'll come again!!

Great place to camp, big flat open area with shade, clean port-a-potty. Water spicket near the tent camping was nice for washing hands and spraying sand off your feet after going to the river. River access was awesome! We had a great time relaxing by the river while the kids played.
Beautiful, close to the main road yet peaceful. Would recommend. Very nice hosts.
