Woodland Retreat caters for a LARGE GROUPS, and small small groups alike and is a PET-FRIENDLY private camp site suited to those who want to get away from it all, and camp with a ‘real bush’ experience. A large dam is nestled inside different variety of gum trees and native Australian bushes in the shade of a Coolabah tree. Imagine tranquility, peace, and being soaked in nature's beauty :) The property is less than an hour from the Grampians and nearby historic towns, wineries and gold diggings. Woodland Retreat provides a safe place to retreat from city life and cool off after a day exploring. Enjoy day trips, onsite bushwalking, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, and mountain views of the Pyrenees with your friends and family with no other campers to worry about! Just you and yours! Our camp site is in a secluded open forest adjacent to seasonal stream that has been dammed to make a billabong.  Feel free to explore forest, seasonal stream, gullies and open fields, with views of the Pyrenees and farms, but please avoid private area with sheds in the eastern corner. You are likely to encounter kangaroos, shingleback lizards, a myriad of birds and if your lucky a large lace monitor. There is a good spot to eat in town at the Landsborough Hotel and Summerfield Winery in Avoca is also a popular spot to eat, not to mention visiting nearby towns like Ararat or Stawell. Landsborough was a historic gold rush area, and maps can be searched for and purchased online if you are interested in fossicking. Access the site from the bitumen road then make your way along the dirt track to the right towards the centre of the property where the dam/billabong is located. Turn left and set up under the trees.
