Welcome to Wirra Park, a property nestled amongst some of the area's finest wineries (Cofield's and Pfeiffer's Winery are particularly close), and under 10 minutes from Corowa, and under 15 to Rutherglen. We have access to bike tracks to town, a short ride to access the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, a short drive to the Corowa boat ramp with a 10-minute boat ride back to camp. There is a free dump point, a public toilet, and a playground a few minutes up the road. This beautiful 60 acres of river flat land consist of heavily treed native and gum forests, two large grazing areas, and just over a kilometer of wide, water skiing and fishing-friendly, Murray River frontage - privately located across from common land. 4WD is highly recommended for this property, as rain and river fluctuation can cause water to flow over the public access road. There is a seasonal private lagoon (which often has nesting and feeding Sacred Kingfishers), cattle roaming, an abundance of wildlife, fishing heaven, forest areas, great river swimming with some beach areas along the property for easy access, and absolutely incredible sunrises and sunsets. You might also be lucky enough to see our resident echidna, Kimi. We have a passion for protecting the vulnerable and endangered flora, fauna, and fungi on the property. We are regenerating some areas to be edible food forests, improving ecosystems and biodiversity with farm animals and wildflower planting programs (watch this space), and encouraging the natural development of weeds and areas of leaf litter. We have many areas of water throughout the property with all sorts of critters and creatures, and at night these offer a ‘spotlighters’ delight. Each camping area is a pull-through fenced area to provide safety for children and dogs, and also to ensure you have no intruding cow friends. Each also has a fire pit with supplied wood for your convenience. Please NO CHAINSAWS, or collecting large fallen timbers, however, feel free to collect small fallen sticks and twigs to start your fire. We ask that you do not use chainsaws, as we have ecosystems evolving, we leave timber for small wildlife to escape predators, and we are creating natural wood structures for all to enjoy. Children and well-behaved dogs are welcome, however, please be mindful that there are cattle roaming on site and there are open areas of unfenced water (please see rules for additional information). Please let us know if you are bringing your fury friend as we also have our own dogs here on site. Max 2 pets per site. There is a communal kitchen with the following features: a wood-fired pizza oven, picnic tables, cold running river water for dishes, NO drinking water, BBQ, gas burners, and some basic kitchen utensils and seasonings available. It is a requirement that you bring a portable toilet for your area, and no human waste to be disposed of on-site, please. We have a Leave No Trace policy, please take all rubbish with you. (This also means not throwing bottles, cans, bottle tops, aluminium foil, and other non-biodegradable items into the campfire). We have 2 x kayaks and 1 x paddle board with provided life jackets, which must be worn at all times when using this equipment. We also have a bocce court with a bocce set, a crochet set, a basketball hoop and ball, plus other games to use while you’re here. We have seasonal produce available onsite, including eggs, vegetables, and fruit. We can’t wait to see you here at Wirra Park soon!
