Hello Hipcampers, I feel like I get to live in a pretty special place so just want to share that with people. 5 Acre Farm is a working farm, growing fruits, flowers and veggies, whilst building biodiversity of flora and fauna. Based in the small Victorian country town of Taradale, on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, about 15 minutes from Kyneton and Castlemaine, 30 minutes to Bendigo and Daylesford and an hour from Melbourne. This property is home to 4 sheep, a dam, a view of the private "Taradale Lake" (as the locals call it) and a dedicated fire circle area. This property is only open to one group of people at at a time, so you will have the back paddock all to yourself. There is a tight angle to get into the driveway and there is a slight hill to get up and down to your site (please refer to the photos). Things to see and do in the area: * Taradale Wine Bar (Open Friday and Sunday nights for delicious woodfired pizza) * Great kids playground in Taradale * Malmsbury is a 7 min drive where you will find a nice country bakery and gardens * Plenty of walking tracks in Fryers Ridge * Short drive to The Cascades and Turpin Falls * Great selection of wineries not too far away * PLEASE NOTE: There is a dam and other dangers (snakes) on the property therefore children must be supervised at all times Additional items: * You can access power at the shed to charge phones/laptops etc. No vehicles/caravan connection available * Washing machine is available during the day for $7 a load * Seasonal produce may be available to purchase * You can feed the sheep some weetbix for $5 A word on fire... I am a volunteer firefighter and Community Safety Coordinator with the Taradale Fire Brigade so I am probably a bit more cautious than most with fire. There is a fire pit in the back paddock. This may be used outside of the fire danger period under the following conditions: - On a day where there is little wind - You need to ensure the ground around the base of the pit is clear of debris for at least 1m - You must never leave it unattended - It must be fully extinguished before you go to bed or leave the property - You can use whatever wood you can find on the ground around the fire circle area or you can bring your own natural firewood (no treated timber) In the event things get out of control, call 000 immediately. You will be financially responsible for any damage an out of control fire causes. You can learn more about fire safety on the CFA website.
