Michael was very welcoming and the site was lovely. Peaceful, very clean toilet and shower, and nice touches here and there to feel like home. I could only stay for one night, but definitely suitable to stay longer.

Winter Camping at Myrtle Beech Camp

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had the most amazing 2-night winter camping experience here. If you're looking for peace, nature, and a place to truly unwind, this campsite is perfect. Waking up to the gentle sounds of the flowing river, birds singing in the background, and the rustling leaves was incredibly relaxing. The riverside setting is absolutely beautiful and serene, making it the ideal escape from the busy city. Despite camping in winter, the facilities made our stay so comfortable. The warm showers were such a treat after a chilly day outdoors, and the toilets were spotless, well-maintained, and surprisingly comfortable. What made our stay even more special was the owner's genuine hospitality. Michael took the time to check in on us to make sure we were doing well and asked if there was anything we needed. That personal touch made us feel truly welcome. As a lovely bonus, he even shared fresh lemons from his own trees with us! It's rare to find a campsite that combines beautiful natural surroundings, excellent facilities, and such warm hospitality. Plus it is also close to the town proper where you can just walk or have a quick drive to buy additional necessities. We left feeling refreshed and already planning our next visit. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for a peaceful camping getaway. Thank you for making our stay so memorable! 🌿🏕️💙

"Absolutely incredible! I stayed at the base camp by the water with my two dogs and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Michael is a remarkably welcoming host who went out of his way to provide fantastic local recommendations for places to visit.I was pleasantly surprised to find the toilets immaculately clean and the hot showers to be a real luxury. The campground is situated wonderfully close to town, yet it gives you the ultimate feeling of being secluded in the bush. As a solo car camper, I felt completely safe the entire time. An excellent, peaceful getaway—I will definitely be coming back!"

We loved staying at Myrtle Beech retreat! Such a gorgeous spot. We have a large caravan and the site was perfect. Michael is a very friendly and welcoming host - thanks Michael! Also - while you are staying in Myrtleford, drive to Bright - we highly recommend the Canyon walk along the river. Plus the Buffalo pub on Myrtleford main street is excellent (if you need gluten-free food they are brilliant)

Fabulous spot! The set up is right on the river, it's gorgeous. Toilets, hot showers, rubbish bins, a spit, chairs down on the water, fire pits, washing up bowls, table, bbq, resident platypus, the list goes on! This property exceeded expectations. Easy to follow directions. Michael was an absolute pleasure to deal with and was very accommodating. Cannot recommend this highly enough!

Autumn in the Ovens Valley is it's own epic show that couldn't be missed. Arrived at Myrtle Beach and Michael was there to meet us and was there to fix anything that might impede us having the most chill week imaginable. Michael is a star host who has a lot of pride in what he is doing.

We enjoyed two lovely nights on Michael’s land with the peaceful serenity of the river flowing and birds chirping only a short distance from Myrtleford township! Michael is friendly and makes himself available for any and all questions. The facilities were immaculately clean and the hot shower a real treat! Will be back.

We had an amazing stay at the base camp. Michael is an awesome host and was very accomodating with us. The amenities were good. portable hotshowers and flushing toilets. Base camp was amazing because it felt secluded from other campers. we had all the space to ourselves. The riverside area was just serenity as you relax and watch the waters pass. Town is close to the campsite but didnt feel like it was because of how secluded the place was, it was perfect. We will be coming back here. One for the books. Thank you for your hospitality Michael.

Michael was an excellent host. He was great at communicating with our group. The camp sight is beautiful. The grass is manicured and the ground flat, perfect for pitching a tent on. The portable toilet and shower made it a comfortable stay. The BBQ is a bonus and made for easy bacon and egg rolls each morning. The walk into Myrtleford is easy, quiet and picturesque, and the town has everything needed to top up supplies. The real star of the show is of course the river, and it did not disappoint. There was plenty of exploring, swimming and rock skimming to keep the kids (and adults alike) entertained.

Camping on the Ovens!

Michael is a great host. He has a great setup with an amazing outlook onto the Ovens River. It's close to town but also far enough away. Michael was there to meet us when we arrived and it was nice to chat to him at various times over the course of our stay about information on the greater Myrtleford area, of which he has good knowledge. Would definitely recommend this as an alternative to staying at a campground.

Brilliant campsite with amazing views and clean facilities. You can tell Michael really cares about providing a comfortable experience for his guests. We will definitely be returning. The proximity to places like Myrtleford, Bright, Mount Buffalo and Beechworth makes it the perfect epicentre for a long weekend away. There's plenty of wildlife. Lots of black cockatoos and gang gang cockatoos. We even spotted the local platypus 20m from our tent!

We had Base Camp to ourselves for 6 nights. It was perfect. Plenty of room, close to the river, hot showers, clean toilets and sun lines on the river front. Great base for touring the local area. Definite would stay again.

Had a great two nights at Michael’s property. He really has thought of everything and makes camping very relaxing and stress free. Clean toilet and a warm shower. Wheelbarrow of fire wood, dropped off for when you arrive ($30). Optional flood lights which was perfect for when we needed to set up a tent in the dark. Bins are provided, a hammock to lie in, chairs by the river and the option to fish and catch a giant cod. Would highly recommend. Location is so convenient and lots to do in and around Mytleford.

We felt quite at home in such a lovely piece of Australia. You are only a 1.8km walk into all the cafe's in Myrtleford, yet sitting by the river you could be a thousand miles from everyone. Michael makes everyone feel welcome and loves to share his piece of paradise with other's.

Beautiful campsite with everything you could want. I particularly loved the hammocks and deck chairs down next to the water. It was so good to have a toilet and hot shower there as well.

We started off on the wrong foot when we pulled up, not understanding we would be sharing the space with a lot of other people but we quickly learnt there is room for everyone. The camp was spacious with luscious soft grass, the facilities were immaculate and although there were a lot of other campers enjoying the grounds (long weekend) we never felt crowded. Michael was super helpful, super informative and super friendly. We have already recommended to friends and family!

The area was beautiful as a half-way point for our trip from Melb to Sydney. There’s a great creek right next to the camp site, as well as toilets and showers. Michael was lovely and greeted us on arrival to ensure we had everything we needed. Would definitely come back again.
