Flat camp sites available a stones throw away from the Campaspe River which flows all year round. The O'Keef Rail Trail is close by and very popular for walking and bike riding. You will find seasonal fruit trees among the camp sites which can be eaten at your leisure. Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Just a short stroll up the road you will find Axedale Tavern for a tasty meal or a cold beer and a newly opened cafe (Rise and Grind) that have delicious coffee and food to go. There is a service station between the two as well as a general store. 11km away you have Lake Eppalock that’s great for skiing/fishing and swimming locations for the whole family. No fresh water or power available and rubbish must be taken with you. Fires only permitted in season and in fire pits, some wood can be provided.

In town camping
3 m travel trailer · Group trip ·
Being in town was great for camping, quick walk to tavern or cafe and friendly hospitality everywhere. On the railtrail, by the clear running water of the Campaspe was a treat. Could be improved with additional shade trees and there is a bit of road noise.

Totally fine for an overnight stop. A kinda backyard paddock kinda spot. Great to be able to walk to the nearby pub for a meal :)

Terrible overall
Tent · Group trip ·
Overall terrible experience, wanted to camp here with friends but the campsite was someone’s yard. Directions were terrible, and host wasn’t available to help after we called for directions/clarification. Pictures were incredibly misleading and we were lucky we found another place because we got scammed out of our money. Save yourself some money and go some place else.

Great outlook over the river and nice even ground. Gate is very narrow so be super careful. Short walk to the Tavern.

Great little spot close to the river, short walk to the pub and cafe and right on the bike trail. We had a wonderful time.

We enjoyed our three nights here. We rode the O'Keefe's Trail over two days and a perfect half way point. Nice and quite no loud parties to contend with. Road noise was annoying but didn't really bother us too much. Nice walking distance to pub and had a lovely swimming spot on the River. Would recommend to stay here
