Once upon a time, they rushed to this area to find gold in these hills, rivers, and valleys. Now, the hills, rivers, and valleys are Gold! Located just off the Great Alpine Road at Smoko, 12 minutes from Bright, 5 minutes from Harrietville, and a short drive to Mount Hotham, Falls Creek, and Mount Buffalo. The property comprises a total of 32 acres with captivating snow views, Ovens River frontage, and private access to the Great Valley Bike Trail. The land has been in the same family for the past 40 years and has been used for cattle grazing. Enjoy the Australian native bushland as your backdrop. The property is flat and fenced with 9 campsites where Australian native animals share the land. The newly completed Great Valley Bike Trail passes nearby, allowing exclusive access to explore and enjoy this beautiful area. Ideally located between Bright and Harrietville with convenient all-weather access from the Great Alpine Road. You will have stunning views of Mt Feathertop and the Razorback. You will never forget enjoying the wide-open space, the mountain river running by, the big night sky, and the mountain views. Enjoy with family and friends and create golden memories of your own. Important: All campers must be self-contained, with their own cartridge style camp toilet and take all waste with them when they leave. No waste disposal of any kind to be left on the property.

    We booked the site 2 , but we moved to site 7 to get more picturesque view from site 7 . It does not mean that site 2 is not giving the scenic view , okay . Well, site 7 is amazing with the beautiful view of mountain ranges , river sound , quite and privacy what every camper prefers. Site is next to the oven river ,but site is fenced in the property . To get Riverview, you need to go the walking trail , which is right next to the property fence. Moreover, if I talk about host, I really admire mickey’s timely response with regards to our question , doubts , on-site help . You may check some of our photos that says everything about site.     This camp site is nestled on the side of a few trees with the property boundary fence on one side, on the other side of the fence is the ovens river and the bike trail to bright and Harrietville. The other aspect of the site looks out over the field/paddock. We sat outside of the van one afternoon watching kangaroos graze and enjoyed the serenity of the site/area. It is a great spot. All sites seemed to be very well spaced apart to provide privacy.

    Camp 2 was easy to access, clean and flat olus, shady and close to firewood back through the gate. Enjoyed the peace and quite and the kangaroo visitors in the morning. Thanks mickey!
