We had a fantastic weekend camping here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway off the beaten track!
The site is easy to reach, just being 500m down the long gravel driveway of the hosts property (the hosts property cannot be seen from this site and is another 500-600m further down the drive) you have the luxury of having the entire space to yourself.
There are no amenities, so it's definitely one for those who enjoy a more self-sufficient camping experience.
We were lucky enough to experience an incredible range of wildlife during our stay, including koalas (Crikey they have a strange call!), possums, echidnas, kangaroos, lizards, frogs in the evening could be heard from the pond nearby and we enjoyed watching an amazing variety of insects- including having breakfast with a little forest scorpion! It was such a treat to be immersed by native fauna without having to hunt for it.
Our host was incredibly helpful and welcoming, with a run down of the area and what we can do. We purchased wood from him which was particularly appreciated given the wet weather over the weekend. After that, we were left to enjoy the property.
We spent time wandering through the forest, carefully picking our way along the tracks and discovering just how steep some of those hills really are! It was a great opportunity to slow down, explore and appreciate the beautiful natural surroundings.
For anyone looking for somewhere a little different, away from the hustle and bustle but still only around 10 minutes from the supermarkets and Churchill township, this spot is a real gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it to anyone wanting a private, nature-filled camping adventure.
We would definitely love to come back!

Loved our time at Josh’s property. It was peaceful and quiet, away from all roads/houses/other campsites. We saw koalas every day. Wombats and wallabies at night. It’s only 5 mins to run to town if you need anything from Woolies / if you want to use the public toilet facilities there (rather than being self sufficient).
It was also private enough that our dogs (who aren’t friendly) could safely relax and be on a long lead all weekend without worrying about other campers having their dogs around. There was an abundance of fallen trees around the campsite to use as firewood also. Thanks so much Josh!!

Josh's place, especially Campsite 2, would have been a lovely peaceful place to stay had it not been for recent rains. Josh was considerate in keeping Campsite 1 open for us in case of this scenario, however, it was not suitable for our needs. Josh was very gracious in offering us a full refund, which we appreciated.

We love staying at campsite 2! Despite the extreme weather conditions we were lucky enough to hang out with the resident koala, kangaroos, kookaburras and a friendly cow. The Pine forest is always a special place to explore. Thanks Josh!

A great quit place to relax and do nothing.
Great private campsite. Right on the edge of bushland. Great to go walking.
Easy access. Have a 7.4 caravan with 4WD. Easy access and plenty of of room to maneuver van into position.

Fabulous secluded spot in the forest with beautiful sunset through the trees. Completely private. Josh was great with communication.
This was a very nice spot for a secluded stay. Had no trouble getting the 17' 6" van in and plenty of walking tracks in the area.

Its a really nice spot. Very secluded surrounded by trees. Easy communication with Josh and the signs made it easy to find. A great spot if you want to escape the city and be surrounded by nature. Overall we were very happy.
Site 2 was serene, surrounded by trees. Only thing we could hear was the birds and koalas.

The access from the main road to the road to camp 2 was very steep, too much for our off-road van. Josh offered that we pull up next to the shed on the main property but it was not for us. We chose to go elsewhere.

Brilliant spot! Very secluded and peaceful, with wonderful birdlife and wildlife all around. Just a short walk leads to magnificent views of the valley stretching 180 degrees, including Mt Baw Baw and the alpine ranges to the north. We loved the tranquility of the camp, yet it’s also close to other attractions like Morwell River Falls and the Grand Ridge Road. Josh was a fantastic host—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We’d highly recommend this camp to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in nature.

We really enjoyed staying at camp-site 2. Josh came by the 2nd day to ensure we were good and checked if we needed anything and his communication before arrival was really good.
The camp-site is in open area, with a few different spots to set up camp. The area is about 500metres down a well maintained access road, so you are well and truly secluded from others during your stay, including those staying at camp-site one.
The access road at the road end is a bit off cambered, but our cars and van didn't have any issues getting in and out. Our van is 23' (overall length 10mtrs) and it was a bit squeezy in places along the turns of the access road and turning around in the campsite, but was easily do-able, but longer setups may struggle.
Lovely walk back along the access road to the road, or walk another 500mtr or so in the opposite direction to the look out, that over looks the Churchill township, plus access to the 'Pines' plantation next door which you can see downhill mountain bike tracks carved out.
Quite a few animals about, we saw a Koala, possums, a kangaroo, a few wombats and quite a few of varying birdlife during our stay.
Amble firewood about the property, for when there are no fire restrictions.
Just a few critters to keep an eye out for, a few mossies about, but nothing crazy, we saw a few wood scorpions, wonder through our camp, as well as a few bull ants...
We will definitely return though, and thank you Josh for opening up your property for us to enjoy! Cheers.
