Nestled in Dja Dja Wurrung Country at the foot of Leanganook (Mt. Alexander) in the La Larr Ba Gauwa mountain bike park, our bush camping ground offers a quiet escape for nature lovers and outdoor adventurers. Surrounded by pine trees and rugged bushland, it's the perfect base for exploring the area’s natural beauty, mountain bike trails, and walking paths. Facilities & Features The campground features 8 well-marked sites suitable for tents, camper trailers, or small caravans. Sites can be booked individually. Picnic tables (2) and compost toilets (2) are provided for your convenience. Firepits (4) are dotted around the site, but you'll need to bring your own firewood. Note there is no potable or washing water available, so please bring all the water you’ll need. Outdoor Activities With direct access to a network of mountain bike trails, the campground is an ideal base for riders of all levels. You can explore paths ranging from easy to challenging, taking in the area’s stunning scenery and diverse wildlife. Hikers will also find several tracks leading up Leanganook, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Important Information As a minimal-facility site, the campground offers a back-to-basics experience. Visitors must bring their own water and firewood, and we encourage all guests to respect the environment by following a leave-no-trace policy. With its peaceful atmosphere, stunning natural setting, and excellent access to riding trails, the campground at Leanganook is the perfect spot to disconnect, unwind, and enjoy the great outdoors. The La Larr Ba Gauwa Committee of Management respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land and waters. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
