Under the shade of the gum with impeccable cathedral views. Light a fire ( when permitted) watch the sun go down. Sounds of deer honking and ducks splashing on the dam. Use the dam yourself For swimming, fishing or use one of the paddle boards to have some fun. PFDS provided A long skinny site for a couple Of vans or multiple tents.

Great spot , loads of room fantastic views . The hosts were awesome. Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend and we will definitely be going back .

Lovely quiet spot. Great view of the Cathedral ranges. Lots of space for kids to ride around, and we really enjoyed the dam and paddle boards. Hosts were extremely responsive and accomodating, and we were welcomed and shown around on arrival. We really appreciated being able to stay at such a beautiful spacious place. Thanks!

Very nice spot! We stayed near the gum tree and had a wonderful view of the mountains and stars the whole night. Larnie was a very friendly and helpful host. I would definitely camp here again!

The owners were friendly and helpful with the site having epic views over the Cathedral’s. It’s on Maroonda Hwy so there’s road noise and it’s a busy camp - there were at least 9 vans this weekend. We were lucky to have our site to ourselves as it’s a shared spot. The spot is sloping and soft but we we’re seasoned travellers so this was manageable. We also knew this all going in from the reviews so that was ok with us. + The dam with fish was a real highlight and it was great having this activity so close to camp. - Most sites are well spaced however the “under the gums” sits in the middle of the paddock. Being so close to each other plus an off leash camp (at campers discretion) meant every time we left our caravan we were at risk of their large dogs charging at our kids and injured lab (she cut her leg day 1 of the trip). “No Bingo” was a common sound and continued even after multiple discussions and apologies from the “under the tree” campers. Pets are allowed off leash so it was their right - we just kept inside in the end. We now know on leash and private are important to us, but remain grateful for the stay. We made the most of it visiting the beautiful towns in the region, buying the famous burgers at the roadhouse nearby, and relaxing in our van.

Camps are beautiful, clean and exactly as described. Larnie and Colin and great hosts, responding to comms promptly, checking you in with a smile and then not bothering you for the rest of the camp. Great experience tent camping

We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly be coming back. There is lots of room to set up away from other campers and it is a great location to safely take our 2 dogs.

Great place. Plenty of space to yourself. Our mini poodle loved every minute of it! He was able to roam and smell everything. Owners were super friendly, Colin was very helpful in particular. He went and got a few branches and added them to my fire, helped hitch our camper onto the fourbie and was happy to stop for a chat

Private & peaceful! A lot of space, beautiful view to 3 sisters and cathedrals & even had the host provide us firewood. Directions clear and hosts were very welcoming and friendly! Recommend this Hipcamp!

This place was a lovely property, peaceful, and very clean - great views of the cathedral’s and brilliant to watch the sunset Unfortunately the dam didn’t have a heap of water so probably not worth trying to fish.

Always a lovely time at this little gem. Thank you again to Larnie and Collin for your hospitality! Sorry we had to leave early due to our sick pup, but we’ll be back again soon to make up for it! Hopefully on a slightly drier weekend. Thanks again legends!

We stayed at Kangaroo Gully, it was a perfect spot for our small caravan. We enjoyed having a campfire on a wet long weekend, lovely spot to explore the area. Even through it was quite wet, easy to access the camping area.

Under the gum
Review is for Under the Gum, which is one of many sites. Site was quiet and spacious (was also only booking when visited) with plenty of kindling firewood around the site perimeter. Require some leveling. If I was to stay again I'd book By the Creek or Kangaroo Run as they have shrubs around to act a wind break, as Under the Gum is very exposed in windy conditions. Under the gum offers plenty of room and stay hooked up if just looking for an overnight stay.
