Tucked high above the Cam River, this 177-acre hideaway is part ancient native rainforest, native eucalypyt and radiata pine plantation – the perfect mix of wild Tasmania and peaceful seclusion. The adventure starts the moment you arrive. Drop your pack, breathe in the pine-scented air, and pitch your tent on the flat, shady clearings beside our rustic amenities shed. Golden light filters through the canopy, wallabies bounce past at dusk, and the only soundtrack is birdsong and the crackle of your own private campfire. Feeling energetic? Lace up your boots for the legendary “Giant Fern Track” – a heart-pumping descent down an old logging trail straight out of Jurassic Park. At the bottom, massive tree ferns (some 60+ years old) form a cool, green cathedral beside the rushing Cam River. It’s steep, it’s wild, and it’s 100 % worth it. (Fit walkers only – this is the real Tassie bush experience!) Perfect stop-over or weekend reset Just 20–25 mins from Burnie What’s here for you: ✔ Shady, level tent sites (room for swags, rooftop tents) ✔ Rustic amenities shed with table, and free dry firewood ✔ Cosy fire pit for permitted nights (check fire rules here: https://www.fire.tas.gov.au/) ✔ Star-filled skies and zero light pollution ✔ Peace, privacy, and the sound of the forest breathing Important – this is off-grid bliss: Please be fully self-contained (bring your own portable toilet & take ALL waste with you). Leave-no-trace is the vibe – we want this magic to stay magic. Ready to swap city noise for towering trees and fern-filled adventures? Book now and wake up in your own slice of Tasmanian wilderness. Wild Pine Haven – where your campfire funds the forest’s future. 🌲🔥Pitch your tent in a flat shady spot near the amenities shed. The shed contains some basic amenities, so you are welcome to use the table and dry firewood to build a fire in the small fire pit there. Please follow fire restrictions when they are in place, so fires are allowed only during times it is permissible. https://www.fire.tas.gov.au/total-fire-bans-fire-permits-burn-registrations/ All campers need to be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, and we ask you take all waste with you when you go.
