Escape to Nature at Nick’s Nook – A Hidden Gem on 80 Acres of Tasmanian Bushland in Coles Bay. Tucked away on 80 acres of pristine native bushland, Nick’s Nook offers the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Just 16 km off the Coles Bay turnoff, this peaceful campsite is ideally located for those looking to relax, unwind, and explore Tasmania’s stunning East Coast. A short 10-minute drive will take you to the beachside town of Coles Bay, while the majestic Hazards mountain range is just 15 minutes away. Travel 25 minutes north and you’ll arrive in the scenic coastal town of Bicheno. With its central location, Nick’s Nook is the ideal base for discovering the Freycinet Peninsula and beyond. Whether you’re spending the day at the beach, visiting local wineries, or heading to St Helens for some epic downhill mountain biking, all these experiences are easily accessible within a day’s drive. Important Information for Campers Nick’s Nook currently welcomes fully self-contained off-grid caravans, Hybrid Caravans, Camper Trailers and Camper Vans. Please note: • No facilities are provided on-site. • You must be entirely self-sufficient, with your own water supply, power source, and waste disposal/Chemical Toilet • Public dump points are available in Bicheno and Swansea. • Coles Bay offers a public freshwater filling station at the Town Hall on Harold Street. We do not accommodate for: • Motorhomes • Tent camping • Any off-vehicle or non–self-contained camping setups Access to camp; Access to Nick’s Nook is via a single-lane dirt track. It is suitable for most off-road and many on-road caravans (weather conditions permitting). The campsite operates primarily as a contactless experience. While someone is often on-site, guests are welcome to arrive, get set up and enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful East Coast.

Banksia is a larger cleared site set amongst native scrubland. It is an 18 x 15m (270m2) site. It would comfortably house 1 large Caravans with room for car parking and relaxation, but is better suited to smaller Hybrid Vans, camper trailer or campervan. Children under 5yo stay free! As per all our sites, this is fully self contained. What you bring in, you must take out. Fires are permitted in self supplied above ground fire pits or designated fire pits areas only (in accordance with Fire restrictions) Fire wood must also be supplied by you, but small sticks can be source from around your camp area. Dogs are welcome and may be unleased within the camp site, but must remain under the owners control at all times and not left unattended.

Lomandra is our largest camper site spanning over 1000m2, featuring a large open area that can accommodate multiple Caravans, Hybrid Caravans and Camper Trailers. While this site can accommodate Campervans, I'd strongly recommend 4WD capable Campervans Only. This Site is undesignated camping, find your spot, set up and relax. Perfect for large group bookings Children under 5yo stay free! This site is perfect for the larger groups, looking to set down roots for a long weekend or week long stay. Fern Grove is a larger cleared site set amongst native scrubland. It is an 16 x 25m (400m2) site. It would comfortably house 2 vehicles, including large Caravans, Hybrid Caravans, Camper Trailers and Campervans. This sight is undesignated camping, allowing two groups to book and enjoy this area, but still allowing room to have your own space. This site has a slight slope to the back side, but easily leveled out with vehicle leveling equipment. Children under 5yo stay free! As per all our sites, this is fully self contained. What you bring in, you must take out. Fires are permitted in self supplied above ground fire pits or designated fire pits areas only (in accordance with Fire restrictions) Fire wood must also be supplied by you, but small sticks can be source from around your camp area. Tea Tree is the smallest of our sites, spanning 14 x 10m (140m2). Flat level site that is perfect for Hybrid Vans, and up to 2 Camper Trailer's or Campervan's. Located just inside the main gate, follow the road around to the left and tea tree is the first camp site on the left, just follow the road around and let the signs guide you. Amazing location for star gazing and being up close and personal with our native wild life. Located just inside the main gate, follow the road around to the left and you will see the entrance into this cost little spot, nestled amongst the Tea Tree. Children under 5yo stay free! As per all our sites, this is fully self contained. What you bring in, you must take out. I’d love to tell people not to book here to keep it a hidden gem for my husband and I, but the space is too good not to positively review. A short drive outside of coles bay town centre, close to the beach, walks and the beauty of the east coast but still enough away to feel private and secluded which is rare for this part of Tasmania. We loved our stay so much we booked and extra night and time over NYE. Highly recommend this camp- and Taj is amazing!

Great spot, felt hidden away within the bush despite only being 15 minutes from town. Directions and signage were very clear and easy to follow and the grounds looked to be maintained regularly.

Loved our time here, nice private campsite with lots of space. The dogs loved roaming around our campsite. Close enough to Coles Bay shops without being right in the centre of it all
