Ladybug Camping is a brand-new private campground offering a unique and peaceful escape in Oldina, Tasmania. Set among waterfalls, bubbling creeks, and towering trees, it’s the perfect retreat for families, couples, and groups looking to unwind in nature. The grounds feel more like a bushland park than a traditional campground. Offering privacy and tranquility and nestled in a sheltered valley, the campground is naturally protected from the wind, making even less-than-perfect days feel pleasant for camping. You might spot a platypus gliding through the creek, Tasmania’s giant freshwater crayfish beneath the rocks, or plenty of pademelons grazing at dusk. Each campsite includes a picnic table and a perfectly placed firepit—great for meals, campfire chats, or stargazing under the clear Tassie sky. Whether you're exploring forest trails or simply enjoying the peaceful setting, Ladybug Camping invites you to experience the magic of the Tasmanian bush in comfort and style. Site 2 – Creekside Hideaway Just across a quaint footbridge from the carpark, Site 2 is a lush, grassy sanctuary tucked within a pocket of temperate rainforest. Surrounded on three sides by a gently flowing creek and shaded by towering blackwoods, this tent-only site stays lush and green even through the driest Tasmanian summers. The short 50-metre walk over the bridge adds to the sense of seclusion, giving this site a peaceful, tucked-away feel. There’s room for up to three tents, making it a great choice for families or small groups wanting space, privacy, and a strong connection to nature. As the sun dips low, festoon lights strung through the trees create a soft, magical glow. Guests also have access to our outdoor cinema and a nearby tree swing—perfect for a bit of carefree fun, whether you’re young or just young at heart. Ladybug Camping now offers Day Pass bookings so you can enjoy the magic of our property without an overnight stay. What’s Included: - Access three private waterfalls to explore - Seasonal mushroom hunting (including the famous Pixie’s Parasol!) - Gentle gold panning (bring your own pan) - Peaceful picnic spots with tables and natural shade - Wildlife and birdwatching opportunities throughout the property Important Info: - Day visits run from 9am to 5pm - No overnight stays included (see other listings for camping) - Composting toilets and basic facilities available - This is a natural and mostly undeveloped environment. Outside the main camping areas, you'll find forest, creeks, and rough bush tracks. Exploring the property involves some off-trail walking and light bush-bashing — it’s part of the adventure! - Limited walking trails – this is a new offering. Trails are still being created, so come prepared for a rustic, self-guided adventure. Whether you're looking for a quiet picnic, a bit of fossicking, or just want to explore a hidden corner of Tasmania, our Day Pass gives you a little taste of everything Ladybug Camping has to offer.

Looking for extra space or total privacy for your group? The Creekside Collective gives you exclusive use of Campsites 1, 2, and 3 — a private section of Ladybug Camping tucked away from the rest of the campground. These three sites are set in their own secluded pocket of bushland beside the top waterfall. Booking this option means no other guests will be placed in Sites 1, 2, or 3 during your stay, giving you freedom to spread out, relax, and enjoy nature undisturbed. This area includes: - A private composting toilet - Festoon lighting - Picnic tables - Easy access to the waterfall and walking tracks - Plenty of flat, open ground for tents, campers, or group setups Perfect for: - Families or friends camping together - Small functions or retreats - Groups wanting peace, space, and privacy Please note: There is no caravan access to this section. Booking Creekside Collective site blocks availability of Sites 1, 2, and 3 for other guests during your stay. If your group includes more than 30 people, please contact us before booking to confirm suitability.

Campsite 6 is a brand new spacious, level site set in a quiet valley beneath tall wattle trees. A fern-lined creek runs along one side, offering a beautiful natural boundary and a place to explore or simply sit beside the water. The waterfalls are just 200 m upstream, an easy walk through for those who want to visit. Back at camp, the setting is peaceful, private, and designed for families or groups who want to camp together without interruption. The entire site is yours alone to enjoy—no sharing, no nearby neighbours, just space and seclusion surrounded by nature. Due to tighter access, this site is suitable for tents, rooftop tents, camper trailers, and smaller caravans. If you’re towing a van, a 4x4 tow vehicle is recommended. Large caravans, buses, long-wheelbase, low-clearance campervans, and motorhomes will find it difficult to get in and out of the campsite.

Site 3 – The Falls Edge Just a 100-metre stroll from the carpark and across a wooden footbridge, Site 3 is a gently sloped, grassy site perched near the top of the property’s stunning waterfalls. With the creek bubbling past and a natural swimming hole nearby, it’s a refreshing and immersive place to stay. This site is unique: instead of bringing your own setup, your booking includes exclusive use of our two vintage Ladybug vans — Honey and Wattle. Together, they provide three beds, giving you a cozy, character-filled base without the need for camping gear. A picnic table and firepit are on-site, perfect for meals or fireside evenings. At night, festoon lighting strung through the trees casts a warm glow, and guests have access to the nearby composting toilet and tree swing. We stayed at campsite 2 for my partners birthday, despite our extremely late arrival the communication between me and the host was constant and clear, he had no issues with us arriving past our previously discussed time. Upon arrival there was a beautiful set up with marshmallows and a roaster, a sign for my partners birthday and some flowers. We got to set up our tent under beautiful festoon lights strung above, and were also able to prepurchase some firewood to have the pit nice and toasty. We also added the feature of the outdoor cinema, which was a game changer! The host had a lot of movies preloaded onto the usb, and even asked if my partner had a favourite for her birthday. The nearby walks are simply stunning and the waterfall is a short walk around the corner from the campsite. Absolutely stunning location - just be prepared to drive on some loose gravel if you’re in a smaller car! Will absolutely be visiting ladybug campgrounds again! 11/10

We loved our stay at Lady Bug Camp. What a uniquely beautiful setting, it’s paradise! Nestled on a picturesque property packed with nature. The waterfalls & cascading water course was stunning & peaceful and the birdlife was abundant. The lovely young couple made us very welcome even though we arrived late without a booking. They are both working very hard to establish this splendid property & we can’t recommend it enough.

What a beautiful place to camp! We didn’t have a soul around else and the site was massive with chairs and table, fire pit and festoon lights. There was a couple of waterfalls near by so want to sleep with the sounds of running water. Thanks Peter.

Super love this campground! The site is amazing with stunning views and waterfalls just few steps away. Peter and Kim were incredibly welcoming and showed us around. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this lovely spot to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway.

Ladybug camp ground is a hidden gem ✨ private and flat sites, sheltered by wattle and gum tree, amazing waterfalls surrounded by rainforest terrain. Very clean compost toilet. The projector and movies were a bonus for the kids! Definitely a spot we'd camp at again.

We had the most magical stay at Ladybug Campgrounds. This valley is truly something special, and Peter made our entrance into it that much warmer. Even though we only stayed one night, it was easily the highlight of our weekend. Thank you for providing such a wonderful space to make beautiful memories. The sound of the stream and waterfall at night serenaded us to sleep, and we were happy to be where we were.

Scenic campsite with waterfalls, tree swing, toilets and plenty of rooms to explore. Note: unable to get vehicle to campsites, but a cargo trolley is supplied to help move your gear from the car to the campsites 👍

🐞🌿 Ladybug Day Pass 🌿🐞
I contacted Peter and Kim after seeing a photo on their website of a tiny, rare blue mushroom called Pixie’s Parasol. I have been fungi spotting for almost 10 years without finding any so asked if I could visit their gorgeous piece of paradise for a day in the hope of seeing one. Peter was so very kind and helpful, greeting me (and my dog) on arrival, showing us the stunning forest and eventually leading us to a moss-covered fallen tree adorned with the tiny blue gems. It was exquisite being in the cool, green forest, soaking up the ancient vibes and serenity. Thank you Peter for your generosity and warm welcome.

We had a lovely stay at this quaint campsite. It’s clear the hosts have put a lot of care into creating a welcoming space — from the tin of marshmallows and card games, to the fairy lights strung up around the site that gave it a magical feel in the evening. The firewood bundle we purchased was generous (definitely good value), and it made for a great night around the campfire. The hosts checked in on us just enough to make sure we had what we needed without intruding — really appreciated that balance. A perfect little spot to slow down, unwind, and enjoy nature with a few thoughtful touches that made it feel extra special. Would definitely come back.

This spot is absolutely stunning - Peter came down to give a bit of a run down on the property and was very helpful for whatever we needed. We stayed at sight 2 but had a walk around and would recommend any of the sights as they all share the same beautiful backdrop. The flowing streams were a nice ambiance and the camp fire with the hanging lights just tied it all together. 5 stars!

Had the best time camping at ladybug campsite, such a stunning little spot by the creek and even a little waterfall. So many magical little touches around the campsite clearly so much thought and effort has gone into making this place so special. Big grassy campsites with plenty of shade that were so well maintained with big fireplaces, bins and soon to be a composting toilet aswell. Definitely will be returning! 10/10 stars

I was honestly surprised with how beautiful the camp ground is. I have done my fair share of hiking and camping around cradle and I’ve been lucky too see some pretty beautiful views and I have to say that if you want to go and experience what it’s like this is place to go. It really felt like my girlfriend and I were in the bush somewhere off the beaten path at cradle, the lights are a really nice touch to making it feel more comfortable (if your a bit scared of the dark like my partner😆) and I wish I had of gone for a swim in the waterfall as it looked beautiful , also the hospitality was was great thank you for showing us around the place and thank you for the marshmallows and bored games that you supplied to keep us busy. I will definitely be suggesting this to people for somewhere to go for a little holiday and I’m sure I’ll be back myself.

We had a wonderful stay at Ladybug campground! It was our first time camping with our 15 month old and was just what we were looking for. The river is beautiful and the mini adventures along to the waterfalls were perfect for our little man. The sites are level and private, with handy picnic benches and fire pits. We also made use of the fairy lights but appreciated you could turn them off to look at the stars. Kim and Peter were very friendly hosts, they even provided games and marshmallows to roast and the whole process was super easy. Would highly recommend for a peaceful and beautiful slice of Northwest Tasmania.

We had a blast at this camp. I've done alot of camping in my time and this has to be one of my favourite spots. I'll be back for sure! The hosts are great and look after any needs. The waterfall and swimming spot are a huge natural feature that is unmatched at other camp spots.

A magical place to relax and get away from it all. Secluded grassy spot is an ideal place to pitch a tent. Fairy lights strung over picnic tables near the campfire pit added a nice ambiance. We loved seeing platypus in the stream that meanders alongside the campsite. Host was extremely helpful and welcoming.
