Beautiful located right beside the Ringarooma River. Fish in the river, swim or just spot a platypus in the river. There is a kayak that you are welcome to use to have a paddle in the water. We have a 40ft shipping container now on site, this has books and games you are welcome to use during your stay. It also has jams, sauces and honey for sale. You can now find us and follow us on Facebook. Search Derby Frasers Flats. No Motorbikes to be used on site. No motorbikes to be used at this camp. Property is located a 5 minutes' drive out of Derby. You can cross the river and then you are on the bike track that will take you to Derby or Branxholm, this is a beautiful walking track or carry your bike across river then ride. Quiet location perfect place to stay for a few nights. Awesome quiet spot to get away. Property is on a working dairy/beef farm. Wood available for sale at camp to use in fire pits for just $10 a tub. We have just put in a private dump point for guest convince. By arrangement if time permits I can arrange for a cost of $20 per person a look at our dairy during milking.

Fraser Flats was everything we expected and more. A brilliant site, next to Ringarooma river, on a large farm, in a tranquil valley. Derby is just done the road, with the Dorest Pub and The Hub pizza house, but we just lived the chance to chill and enjoy the natural environment.

Very peaceful place, loads of room so campers are very spread out. Little river nearby and platypus sightings are virtually guaranteed.

We had a great time at Frasers Flats! The owners are really friendly and the site is brilliant! We were lucky enough to spot a platypus in the morning as well, and the honey for sale is delicious. I would highly recommend!

A great camp-site with plenty of room for each camp and the use of games, bikes and kayaks free of charge. Our first chance to see platypus in the creek was a bonus. Rosie is a lovely and helpful host. Highly recommended.

Such an amazing camp site, the access to the river is perfect, sites are well spaced apart and massive, very catering to the kids, very well thought about with all the activities, a solid 10/10 highly recommend wish I could of stayed longer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spacious and relaxing setting. Plenty of activities enjoyed by our family from kayaking down the river and riding into Derby. Friendly and welcoming host in Rosie, thank you for sharing your property with us. Such a wonderful space to enjoy and entertain the kids. The highlight for us was being lucky enough to see a platypus and kayak with it popping up alongside us in the river. We look forward to coming back.

This is a very flat and well-organised place, and it’s easy to get to. It’s close to the village, where you can find toilets with showers and a water refill point. The area is quiet and peaceful, but also great for families. There are books and games available, and plenty of open space for kids to run around or ride their bikes. You can buy homemade products from the farm or nearby areas, like jam and honey. There is also a lot of useful information about things to do around the area. Safety is well covered, with a snake bite kit and a fire extinguer available. The best part of our stay was the wildlife. After three weeks trying to see a platypus without success, we were very lucky here. We saw a rakali at dusk and two platypus at sunrise. One of them was still swimming and playing later in the morning. Check-out is at 12:00, and the platypus was still there when we left.

We had a beautiful spot by the river with easy access into Derby. The site was huge with lots of space. The owner Rosie was just lovely. Our son was unwell during our stay and her help went above and beyond, we appreciated the kindness! We will be back again.

What an amazing place! Beautiful 1km ride into town and the tracks, we have a 3 yr old and a 6 yr old and it was really easy with them. So much better than staying in town. Caters well for little kids with swings, tramps and the container of toys. So peaceful and the river is amazing. We were even lucky enough to kayak with a platypus!!! 10/10

Our stay at Fraser Flats was fantastic. So peaceful and the kids loved the river. Rosie was the most wonderful host you could ask for. She was so helpful and generous with her time. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Tasmania.

This is such a special spot. Rosie has been very considered in how she has set up her hipcamp. The sites are spread out, allowing for privacy and quiet. There is potable water, portaloo if you don' have a chemical toilet, a shipping container full of games, toys and local products, fire wood, platypus, glorious swimming spots and easy access to Derby via a grogeous shared pedestrian/mountain bike track. I almost want to keep Rosie's place a secret. We will be coming back. Rosie, thank you for your warmth and for sharing your space.

A great sheltered spot. Lovely peaceful part of Tassie. Advise trailers to approach the site via Derby township. Do not take back road as Google takes you the wrong way and if you have a larger van it will get you stuck .
