Beautiful Clifton Beach
Al and Lyn were amazing hosts. We felt well accommodated while staying at their hipcamp site.
The site is part of their property and incorporates a rustic studio room with fireplace. This was great for a bit of extra space to relax.
Nothing seemed too much trouble. We really appreciated their wonderful hospitality.
We would not hesitate to stay with them again or to recommend them highly to our family and friends.

It was such a lovely place to stay to end our holiday in a motohome. The shed is very comfy and fireplace was exactly what was needed on the cold night. Highly recommend

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights here. Cosy & protected. Great fire - wood supplied. Which was perfect as it was rainy & cold outside. Allan was easy to communicate with & super helpful when there was a alight hiccup with the Hipcamp portal. Must have your own toilet - there are public amenities not far (8-10min walk) at the surf club if you prefer. Loved the private outdoor hot shower. Sink, fridge &power. Was a great treat to extend out of our little caravan into our timber retreat Bird life & little bandicoots - there was even an elephant seal at Clifton Beach visiting !

This place is fantastic, easy to pull in with the big caravan. The setup is very private and the cabin and fireplace was very homely. Much more then just a caravan site! We will be back for sure.

Beautiful spot to camp up for a few nights! Such a little luxury to have the shed and fireplace at our convenience. Worth noting that the main house is relatively close to the campsite so not as secluded as we thought nonetheless we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The Clifton Beach/ South Arm are is an incredible place but with real limited camping options. Allan and Lyns place was a refreshing option. The hut gave a bit of room to spread out and the deck was great compared to what we are use to Only a 10 minute walk to Clifton Beach and central to some great hiking options. There property is well maintained and privacy ensured

The place was what we expected, nice clean facilities able to get out of weather and keep warm with combustion heater as we went kite surfing at the beach the shower was a nice relief when wet and cold.

Beautiful Clifton Beach
We had an amazing, peaceful stay at Clifton Beach. It was a natural paradise with black cockatoos and an inquisitive bandicoot in a lovely bush setting.
The 'shed' provided was much appreciated with a wood fired heater and beautiful timber features and seating.
Lynne and Alan are great communicators and let us know all about the area.
We will recommend this hipcamp to all we know on the mainland and hope to be back.
A true 5 star experience!

My wife and I stayed two nights on a Sunday and Monday late March 2025 in our 8m motorhome.
The site is nicely designed with a low deck you can locate your RV next to, and a walkway to the little timber shed with sink, hot water, and bar fridge plus a wood burning stove and furniture.
Having power and water hookup was appreciated and one of the reasons we chose this Hipcamp site. The water is filtered tank rainwater with a pump, and we also used our own inline filter to our MH. The owners were very responsive in replying to our booking and enquiries, although they weren't home and their son was looking after their house.
Found it pretty quiet, and the birdsong was nice.
We did think it would be a bit more remote but there are houses all along one side of the property and a few barking dogs.
The main house is not far away and visible from the rear of the site and when entering the property.
It would be really good if in a caravan and 4wd so you could go exploring the area in the car.

We stayed 3 nights, a lovely spot to camp. There is an abundance of birds surrounding you not to mention a couple of local marsupials that came to check us out. The deck is great as you can just pull up next to it, the hut was clean and well thought out, it had water, fridge & electricity, but also gave you an extra spot to spread out. The security of camping in a fenced area with the main house not far from you but still provided ample privacy. A 5 min walk to the beach, I would defiantly stay again.

This private campsite is beautifully appointed with a timber deck and indoor room with a fire pit and much more. Allan and Lyn were absolutely the best hosts and this spot with the birds in the trees was special.

Stayed for 2 nights as a base to explore Hobart, Richmond and Port Arthur.
Allan and Lyn provided detailed explanation so we could find the location and everything we needed easily. They were responsive on text as well.
Location - private space 10-15mins away from Clifton Beach (good spot for stargazing and aurora though we didn't manage to catch any!)
Site - clean and had everything we needed for a self contained vehicle (electrical power hookup and water supply). Nice comfy shelter to sit and eat with sink for washing up dishes.
Outdoor shower was great especially after a swim in the beach

Beautiful Clifton Beach
Awesome place to setup base camp and explore Port Arthur or Hobart region. Access to water and electricity makes this location perfect to setup the RV and then just head to the beach that`s 5 minutes away. If we are back in the are we will definitely come back.

We loved our stay at this Clifton Beach property. It is a single van stay with a beautiful timber deck to pull up alongside. There is a walkway up to an enclosed timber shed which had sink, chairs, table, fireplace and outdoor shower. We were only a short walk to the surf beach and we could see the bay from the property looking the other way. Allan and Lyn are warm, friendly hosts and we are so thankful they shared their space with us. It is private and spacious and although no shops in Clifton Beach itself, it was only a short drive to both Coles and Woolies in Howrah and even closer to smaller shops including coffee shop, bottle shop, service station and bakery in Lauderdale. There is another amazing beach a short drive or bike ride away in Cromorne and another short drive away is the beautiful crystal clear water at Opossom Bay.

Beautiful peaceful location filled with wildlife. We really enjoyed our time at this wonderful Hipcamp that had everything you could want. Power and water hookup plus the luxury of having the space to yourself. We spent our days at the surf beach that’s a 5 min walk away and our afternoons soaking up the peace and quiet on the deck at the camp. Best camp we stayed at during our 6 week trip of tas!

Loved our time here only downside is wish we stayed longer. Such an awesome location, highly recommend it for families there’s a fun bike trail/jump behind the camp and a park a little further up. So easy to get to the beach. Great surf and good vibes. The shelter was so useful to wash up and hang out and play games when windy. Thanks for having us!

Allan and Lyn were incredible Hipcamp hosts. I returned for a second stay and absolutely loved it again! The Hipcamp is set up with such care and detail. 1km walk from the camp, bring your coffee and enjoy a morning of rolling waves on Clifton Beach. 30 minute drive and you are in Hobart CBD. The camp is beautifully setup for a lovely evening of relaxing time after a long travel day. It's a little sanctuary of tranquility. I will certainly be back. Thank you Allan and Lyn:)

We loved our stay in Clifton Beach. The deck and hut (complete with power, water and a fridge!) made our pre-Christmas camping trip feel quite luxurious! Allan and Lyn's bush garden is very peaceful and they were considerate and helpful hosts. Thank you. We'll be back!

Allan and Lyn were such gracious hosts — very friendly, personable and accommodating. We had some wild weather roll in while we were in Hobart. Allan came to the rescue, tying down our awning when one of our straps snapped so we didn't have to rush home. Some friends popped around for an early dinner one night — the outdoor deck and indoor fireplace in the shed was perfect. It's a relatively quick drive into Hobart. Highly recommend the farmer's market hosted every Sunday! Was nice to stay outside the city — quiet and dark for a restful sleep and just steps away from a quiet beach.

Allan and lyns property is perfect if you are in a campervan or caravan. I'm not sure if they allow tenters but if they do it'll still be perfect. The little shed that has warm water, seats and just a cosy indoor fireplace kept us warm through the night. It was a great place to wind down in a spacious area after a long drive.

Absolutely perfect! Pull up to a small deck leading to the best little cosy cabin with wood fire & firewood. Power, sink and small fridge. What luxury! Very clear directions to site and easy short walk to beautiful Clifton beach.
Lynn & Allan fabulous hosts...easy going, warm and friendly. Such a great place to stay...very spoilt. Definitely recommend. Would have loved to have stayed longer.

Allan and Lyn have established a great little nook to kick off your motorhome holiday around Tasmania. A flat, easily accessible site, with a deck to a comfy cabin that has power for your vehicle, a fireplace and a sink with hot water.

Lovely set up and it is obvious that they have put a lot of time and thought into the comfort levels of us hipcampers.
Got to meet the host who is a lovely bloke with loads of good info.
Having the reserve right on the doorstep that takes you to the beach with a nice walk is a huge bonus here and we will definitely be coming back and as soon as possible.
Beautiful, clean, and that deck for the annex and the walkway to the shack is just prime. I cannot fault this place.
