Hidden away in the hills amongst the Cidergums off Barron planes road in Tasmania's Central highlands. Fantastic trout fishing, hunting, wildlife watching, bush walking, reasonably snow falls in winter. Perfect base for your next highland adventure. Amazing wildlife, wedge tailed eagles, wallabies, possums, echidnas, wombats, wild fellow deer, wild brown trout, wild rainbow trout. Great sight fishing for Wild Trout November to March, good wet fly fishing all season, Great marsh fishing and tailors early and late in the season or early morning or late evening. good mayfly hatches November to December. ( warning these trout are smart! Quality over quantity) I can recommend flys, also tie flys and recommend waters to visit if needed, I will offer custom guiding too.  Fantastic bush walks available 20min drive to walls of Jerusalem and western lakes, Julien lakes, pillions lakes, Christie’s creek, fantastic western lake tarns fishing. Explore Tasmanian highland huts. 45 min drive to Lake st Clair national Park. ( you need to be prepared for venturing into Tasmania’s back country visit national parks and wildlife website for minimum equipment requirements) We have Telstra and Optus coverage on the block. There are no facilities here, campers will need to be self sufficient and leave no trace. Facilities can be found in the Great Lake Hotel or at the amenities block opposite the Arthur’s Lake Road House . 1.5 hours drive from Davenport, Hobart or Launceston  Just a short drive to Great Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in Australia, lying on Tasmania’s Central Plateau at an elevation of 3,398 feet (1,036 m).

    Steph and I had a great stay with Tristan, a lovely human being full of ressources and knowledge. The property is wild and raw and full of potential, I really liked it. I can only recommend one of his fishing tour, you won’t find any better in the area about the best spot for fishing. Thanks T, hope to see you again soon!
