This is a stunning privately owned property great for natural bush camping. Access is via a dirt road that is stony in places so drive with care. We’re just 10 kms north of Melrose, situated at the base of Mt Remarkable, in the Southern Flinders Ranges. Our family run retreat is set on 80 acres of picturesque bushland with Mt Remarkable National Park on 3 sides. Abundant in wildlife with so much natural beauty to be discovered & explored. This is your opportunity to experience some memorable time in a relaxed atmosphere with friends & family. School groups welcome. Toilets & hot showers available. Sorry no dogs. Purchase firewood as an extra in advance.

    Lemongrass Camp
    I had such a wonderful time here! The property is beautiful, peaceful and has great amenities. Fireplaces at every campsite, wood available to buy if needed and Melita is a fantastic host! Kookaburra retreat is perfectly located close to mount Remarkable and there are many good hikes to choose from.

    Middle Camp
    A beautiful spot amongst the trees and wildlife. My friend and I rode in on our motorcycles and camped here. We both thoroughly enjoyed the property, Willowie Forest trails, and cooking our food on a camp fire. The driveway coming in was a bit rocky for our road bikes, but we managed fine.
