Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Escape to your own private bush campsite just 16km from Maryborough. With only one booking accepted at a time, you'll have the entire camping area to yourself—perfect for couples, families, friends or anyone looking for peace, space and a genuine country camping experience. Set alongside a seasonal creek, the campsite features level, mown camping areas surrounded by shade trees. Relax around a campfire in the designated fire pits, with firewood supplied (you may just need to gather a little kindling). Campfires are permitted when local fire restrictions allow. Train enthusiasts will love the property's location beside the North Coast rail line. Watch everything from the Tilt Train and Spirit of Queensland passenger services to freight trains passing throughout the day. A timetable for passenger services via Maryborough West is provided, while the freight trains remain a surprise! Friendly cattle roam the property, wallabies are regular visitors, and you'll enjoy plenty of birdlife during your stay. Well-behaved dogs are welcome off leash, provided they have reliable recall and do not disturb the livestock. Please note that fencing is not dog-proof. This is a self-contained camping experience with no power, toilets or drinking water, so please arrive fully equipped. The nearest dump point is at the Maryborough Showgrounds. A SPAR Express convenience store is just 13km away in Maryborough West, with all the shops, cafés and services of Maryborough only a 16km drive. Access is via the last gate on the left off Denison Lane, marked by a white tree stump. Please close the gate behind you, as livestock graze nearby. Denison Lane is an unsealed road and may have one section with standing water after heavy rain. The seasonal creek can occasionally be suitable for canoeing when water levels are high enough, although conditions vary throughout the year. Come and enjoy the privacy, wildlife, campfires and peaceful country atmosphere.Train Spotters site is undesignated so travellers can choose an spot within the mown area. Plenty of shade trees and level parking available. Choose your campfire site from the previously burnt areas around. Please leave area as you found it.
