When we arrived, there were signs to a reception, which turned out to be a closed door. We called the number, to be met with a person asking us what we were checking in for. 😳 We had to explain why we were there and then told to wait for the lady. It was very impersonal.
She arrived down on a bike further down the road and then waved for us to go to where she was, where she greeted us and gave us some basic information.
We opted for a non powered site,and the area that was shown to us to choose from, was essentially a dust bowl. It was far from the lake shown in the pictures.
The place, while well maintained, is missing a wow factor. It felt like it was set up in the 80's and no further attempt to keep it up to date has been made.
We booked two nights and left after the first one.
We also noticed the property was up for sale, so presumably the interest in the hipcamp from the current owner is no longer there.
Was not a very welcoming experience for us.
It may very well suit other travellers, but this one was not for us.

What a lovely haven to enjoy on our trip. Lisa was so welcoming and check in was easy. Showers were good and the area was well lit to find the toilets at night.
The whole place is a chilled and beautiful. We loved sitting in the morning listening to all the birds.

Management was extremely lovely and the camp grounds are very spacious and clean.
Didn’t like how the shower are past the men’s bathroom and bathroom facilities didn’t feel very clean.

Common area was closed. My son wanted to play pool and table tennis as shown in the images but couldn’t. Caretaker not very friendly either.

We enjoyed camping at the Southern Cross Travellers Retreat, a relaxing spot with great amenities. Large open Grassy areas and the Owners help you select a suitable spot - with your choice of full sun or partially shady. There is a lovely area that has the most charming timber tables & chairs with a pool table for a bit of entertainment. The entry into the property is a bit steep but the owners were lovely enough to open the back gate on our departure. Worth visiting

Had a great experience camping here! We accidently booked a non powered site (take note you can't book powered through hipcamp) but it didn't cause us much trouble. Thankful for another camper who lent us power for our blow up bed 😂
The facilities are good. Would love to see the common area bar open, with music in the evenings as its a lovely area with a good pool table!
The lake is super pretty in the mornings, and the use of the firepit was great too!
Thank you for a beautiful stay, we will return!

A stunning spot by the waters edge. This camp spot has all the makings to be wonderful but unfortunately the facilities are looking very tired and past its day. Lots of signs (I mean LOTS of signs) telling you what not to do which also ruins the beautiful surroundings.
Check in was a very strange process.
Good for a night or two - van sites not close to toilets/showers.

Good space for caravan only 2 others Dam with jetty and couple of Gazebos. Dog friendly and there were other amenities but we were a fully self contained caravan. It has cabins as well, worth a visit

Beautiful space with unpowered spots, shades and view on a little Lagoon. Quite a walk to the toilets and showers. Increadable common space and pool. Camp kitchen suitable for doing dishes, I didn't figure out how the gasstove worked. Saw some kangaroos one morning.

Has a big space for camping right by the lake. Only a two min walk from the pool area and the amenities hall. Showers are clean. Great fun for the kids and there is free wifi in the amenities hall. Also has a pool table for the adults.
On Saturday evenings from 5:30pm they run a woodfire pizza night, great vibes and delicious pizza.
We absolutely loved our stay, thank you Lisa and team for your friendly hospitality and beautiful property.

We had an overall great experience at this campsite. The environment was stunning, with a picturesque lake nearby where we took some amazing photos. However, the amenities could use some improvement. There were only three showers shared by both men and women, which we found unusual. Typically, separate facilities for men and women are preferred, and three showers are insufficient for the entire campsite. The kitchen facilities were also quite limited, lacking a kettle and dishwashing liquid. Although the host kindly provided a kettle upon request, the general amenities fell short of our expectations. Despite the responsive host, the facilities did not meet our needs.

Cool site with heaps of activities and plenty of shade. Amenities were great and the site was well kept. Communal area was extremely quiet which was a bit of a shame, and we didn't get to meet our hosts at all. Overall good stay.

The staff were great. Unfortunately it was a day of flooding rain so had to park up higher. So not as private as we would have liked but that's the weather for the time of year, not owners fault. Rustic and characterful are words I would use . Well maintained except for the dead toads in the swimming pool !

Staff were so nice and accommodating. Clean tidy amenities. Highlight was all the room to kick the footy with the kids and swim in the lake

We booked in for seven days and left after five the facilities were not Acceptable and very disappointing the facilities were not clean. The gas stoves in the camp kitchen did not work and were extremely dangerous. The camping ground itself was spacious and pleasant.
