Had such a beautiful stay at Lexi and Kieran’s land. From the moment I arrived, Lexi was absolutely lovely — warm and welcoming. There’s only one campsite on the property, so we had the whole place entirely to ourselves, which made it feel extra peaceful and private.
The view of the river was just stunning. Took the kayak out for a paddle and it was so calm and relaxing on the water. My two dogs had the best time exploring, playing, and just being out in nature — it was perfect for them.
Everything about this spot was serene, clean, and well looked after. Such a great place to camp if you’re looking for quiet, space, and a beautiful natural setting. Highly recommend, and I’d happily come back again.

This was a perfect Hipcamp experience. Everything from the communication, instructions, views, kayaks to use and ammenities were outstanding. We can’t wait to come back for a longer stay and relax with this view. We didn’t get lucky with the platypus this time, but so many birds, turtles and lizards. We had a big downpour in the morning but managed to get out no problem. The hosts, Kieran and Lexi, were so kind. They checked in re weather warnings, offered help in case, early check in to ensure the place was mowed in time, and even refunded me a night because my car wasn’t drivable, no fault of theirs. Thank you both so much, we can’t wait to come back!

Had the most relaxing time staying at platypus point, and will definitely be making it a regular stop! The scenery is to die for, so tranquil with the most spectacular sunset over the river. So much wildlife to spot, and exploring the creek looking for platypus is definitely a core memory. Camp-site is clean and well maintained, with a great firepit and picnic table which is so handy.
Being warmer weather, we did spot one pretty little eastern brown snake, so be sensible and wear decent footwear when exploring. Remember it's their home first, and we are just visiting!
Hosts are super friendly and helpful. Thanks so much once again, we cant wait to come back.

Had a fantastic time staying at Platypus Point. The location was scenic, clean and private. The hosts were very helpful especially with the wet weather and finding our spot. Easy to get to and would return in the future! 😁

Platypus Point is the perfect getaway camp! Very private being a single booking - right on the river! The campsite itself is large, flat, fenced and well- kept - with a stunning view of the river. We enjoyed watching the platypus, flying fish and local wildlife - and the birdsong was amazing! The camp is great for a river swim and kayaking as well. Lexi and Keiren were perfect hosts, easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed. Easy access to the campsite with clear instructions provided. Thanks Lexi and Keiren - see you again soon!

What a wonderful site! So peaceful and private, level spot for camper trailer. My husband saw the platypus as well. This site is very well set out with a handy picnic table and a great fire pit already on site. Fantastic private camp site,

Gorgeous camp-site. We have a reactive dog so we only camp where no one else can. Lovely view, plenty of space and flat grassy places to pitch tents. Perfect fire pit. Accessible by 2wd in the dry. The camp site is very securely fenced off from the cows which is great. Good communication. No humans in sight from any part of the site. We loved being able to borrow the kayaks. Thank you! We'll be back.

Absolutely loved our stay at platypus point, I almost didn’t want to put a review so that it doesn’t book up all the time 🤣
Easy access, super friendly hosts who were more than accommodating. LOVE that there is already a beautiful picnic table on the site and the new fire pit is amazing!! Freshly mowed for us and the cows came down to say hello our first afternoon there. We took the kayaks out on the water and caught a few fish!! The dogs loved having the entire place to themselves - very private!! What more can you ask for in a camping spot? 10/10 and will be back again VERY soon!! Thank you so much for having us Lexi & Kieran ☺️

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights with our dog and had the most lovely time! We had the pleasure of meeting Lexi as we arrived and she was super friendly and had the spot freshly mowed and clean. We enjoyed the quietness and had a little fish in the river. Their space is super private and the picnic table & fire pit were a really nice touch! We ended up leaving a day early as our van had some issues. Lexi & Kieren issued us a refund for one night even though this was no fault of their own which just shows what kind of people they are. We 100% recommend staying here and can’t thank Lexi & Kieren enough for sharing their space! 😊

Platypus Point
Platypus Point is an ideal camp for many reasons. This lovely large open grassy site is meticulously maintained by hosts Lexi and Kieren, has great access via a well formed road, offers a large flat area for large caravans (ours is a 23 foot caravan and there was plenty of space to have family join us) with a few large gum trees for shade but with plenty of sun for solar power. This beautiful secluded spot offers privacy, is sheltered and has water views out over the Brisbane River and Fairney Brook. Wildlife is abundant with many varieties of native animals surrounding the camp, perfect for bird watchers and lots of fish etc in the river. Great value for money with pets and camp fires allowed, firepit provided.

We have camped in a lot of places and this is definitely one of our favourites. Very private, quiet spot near the river, clean and maintained campsite. The kayaks were a bonus, we will definitely be back.

We love Platypus Point for its serene and private location. It's a great spot to unwind and relax together as a family. Many catfish are always caught, and sometimes lungfish too. Great place for kids to catch and release and just enjoy finishing. Kayaking on the river and trying to spot a platypus is always fun! The site is well-maintained, and the firepit and picnic table are great!
I'm sure we'll be back.

Gorgeous view, very private (except for the cows that will look at you curiously from over the fence), and an abundance of bird life on the river. Kieren was very hospitable - probably one of the nicest blokes I have ever met. The only thing to be aware of is that the highway noise is faintly audible sometimes, but I rarely noticed.

I loved tent camping, the site was very private and peaceful. Great view across the water to tree studded Ridge. Amazing hosts, great communication. The town of Fernvale has everything you need and is so close if you happen to forget anything.

Location was heavenly, peaceful and relaxing. The area was clear with w firepit and a decent picnic table. We absolutely loved our stay and was left alone by our hosts to enjoy their beautiful land.

Beautiful little spot and great hosts! The spot is beautiful and peaceful and private. We got to watch cows run on the hills on the other side of the river while we were relaxing! Love that this place has a fire pit picnic table aswell! The hosts checked in to make sure we found the spot and were happy and let us know anything we needed to know. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!
