Newell Beach Farm Stay
Thus was a great place to stay.Close to Port Douglas and the Daintree. Our dogs favourite spot by far.Great hosts with lots of local knowledge.

Great little campsite only a few minutes from Mossman and 2 minutes from the fantastic Newell Beach.
Great location to explore the Daintree, Port Douglas areas and local freshwater swimming holes.
All sites are grass around a small man-made dam with fire pits, surrounded by farm land, with friendly cattle. There's a communal shed to catch up with neighbours at sundown.
Family run property very welcoming. No power or toilet but ideal for self contained camping and vans, with water taps available to top up your own tanks.
Ideal place to explore from or just relax.

Plus through no one’s fault one of my dogs picked up a tic from the area and has subsequently passed away

We had a good, uneventful 2 night stay. However it is about 20-25 mins north of Pirt Douglas and with no direct water link or power it’s quite expensive for what it is we felt. But the just Tink was lovely and helpful.

Nice little stop off next to a small dam.
Roomy sites and well marked. Each site with a fire pit.
Would benefit from some toilets and a shower but advertised as needing to be self contained so not too disappointed about the lack of.
Only 6-7 sites in total so not too many people.
Very quiet and peaceful.
Drinking water available but not power.

Firstly, before I even talk about the actual stay, I have to mention the quality of the communication. The interaction with the host has been absolutely perfect. Easily approachable and every question answered.
Now… the stay… it was outstanding! Rock up, pick a spot, get settled, light a fire in an offered fire pit, crack a tinny, sit back in front of the dam and just take in the views. Every spot looked super level and easy access to potable water (we had a 20m hose and could fill up without moving). Dogs were welcome, the dam provided great entertainment for kids and adults, the cows were adorable, the host was friendly and paid us all visits with a yarn or two and only a stone throw away from Mossman town. Even though it got busy (no vacancies), there was a huge amount of room for everyone and didn’t feel like we were invading other’s privacy. 15/10…. Absolute gem of a place and will come back if we’re over this side of Australia again.

Gorgeous small farm. Great base for the Daintree, Mossman Gorge and Port Douglas. The 6 sites ended up accomodating 9 but easy to see why it popular. Very affordable.

Exactly as described - lovely spot with max five spots. The dam was a bit of fun using the supplied canoe. Firepit cooking and glorious starry sky. Easy to access from the road and close to Daintree and port Douglas/mossman.
The provided town water would be awesome if you were heading to another off grid spot.

We loved our stay at Newell Beach, very relaxing, great views. Nice chatting to Richard and Glen. Unfortunately for us there seemed to be alot of people camping there, 10 or so set ups.
We would definitely revisit when in the area.

It’s a great staging post for whole that don’t have kids.
We stayed two nights with 2 under 3.
The hosts are lovely and super accomodating. However it’s not somewhere if you had kids I’d recommend staying longer than 1 night.

Great spot. Tink welcomed us. There is water to top up tanks on the property. Peaceful and we felt very safe. Good spot for a couple of days to do your exploring from.

A beautiful spot with huge spaces around a man made lake. Didn't cop any mozzies or bugs as I would've expected. Nice and open to get plenty of solar

Beautiful grassed area to camp around a dam. We were the only campers there and it was lovely watching all the birds fly in in the morning and evening. Fire pits are provided- bring your own wood. We didn’t need to top up water but there was water available if needed. We saw a few cane toads around. Good directions were provided for access, we didn’t see the hosts.

Great spot on a beautiful clear dam. Kids had a ball on the well manicured lawns and swam and fished all day. Didn't snag the illusive Barra we were after but they gave it a red hot crack. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best this stay but who needs sunshine when you have kids, rain and kayaks. Perfect place to explore all the Daintree has to offer with plenty of room between campers. Met 2 other great families, lit a nice communal camp fire next to the happy hour shed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Even got to pat the friendly Brangus cows. Host checked in daily to make sure we were all ok. A place we will recommend to our friends and family

We enjoyed a fantastic stay here over the Easter long weekend with only a few other campers making it a peaceful retreat. The kids enjoyed fishing in the dam and even took the canoe out for a spin, we loved interacting with the cattle (cleaned out our fridge of carrots and apples!) and enjoyed a yarn in the afternoon with our host, farmer Dick! Ideal place for those who want to avoid the crowds and enjoy all that Port Douglas, Mossman and the Daintree have to offer. Thanks for having us!

Tink provided firewood for our campsite free of charge on arrival.
The camp site is an easy drive through.
Please note that there are no trees on site for shade and the site can become very hot depending on the weather. However, there is a shade umbrella provide, and the dam is safe to swim in.
