Mountview is a very special place having been in the family for over 120 years. The working farm is 650 acres of grain cropping and also runs a productive Charolais beef cattle stud. A central stopover point an easy 15 minutes from Toowoomba city and only a few kilometers off the New England Highway. Great for couples and larger family groups. For those that may not be experienced campers onsite accommodation is also available in the fully renovated homestead for up to 8 guests. Explore the local area with so many attractions and places to discover including the Darling Downs Zoo, The Historical Bull and Barley Inn, Lavender fields, quaint little country towns, sunflower fields, hiking tracks and so much more. Enjoy wide open spaces with magnificent views. Watch stunning sunsets, toast marshmallows around the fire pit, watch the night sky for a dazzling display of stars, hike or say hello to the many Charolais cattle on the property. You will also have access to the facilities at the Ironbark Barn which include a pool table, television, kitchen and bar area, and hot shower and toilets. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, BBQ, dish-washing station and rubbish/recycling facilities. IMPORTANT; DO NOT BRING FIREWOOD ONTO THE PROPERTY IF YOU ARE IN A FIRE ANT ZONE. Mountview has bags of good quality iron-bark timber for sale. Please note to hook up to power you will need a lead of at least 30 meters. 15 amp power is supplied. Power is allocated on a first in best dressed preference. If you desperately require power please advise at the time of your booking and all efforts will be made to hook you up to power. Campers must arrive before 5pm to check in. Once checked in you are welcome to come and go as you please. It has been one wet weekend of camping. The peacefulness of the place was great! Waking up with raindrops falling on the tent was so beautifully relaxing. The cows were so sweet! Very clean amenities. Can't fault the place!!!

Absolutely beautiful campsite with stunning views & such friendly hosts…but the flies made it a bit unbearable for us as we couldn’t enjoy the outdoors as we’d hoped :)

We absolutely loved our stay. The camping area is so beautiful and so well maintained. The amenities are top notch - clean and modern with 2 flushing toilets and a hot shower. The kids loved riding their bikes around and hanging out on the big swing looking out at the view. The sunsets did not disappoint here. Fire pits are provided and fire wood is available to purchase. The barn was great for the kids to hang out and play pool or do arts and craft. Katrina was welcoming and helpful. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax. With maximum 4 camp sites there really is so much peace to be had at Mountview. Thank you Katrina, for a lovely stay and a trip to remember for our family.

We had the most amazing stay at Mountain view. It was peaceful and relaxing. Great modern clean amenities. Kids loved the chickens. Would recommend

Just had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at Mountview Farmstay and didn't want to leave. The rural views in all directions are stunning - including magic sunsets. Nothing beats watching a sky full of stars while relaxing around your own camp fire. It's obvious how much effort has gone into creating an atmosphere of rustic charm for visitors with the repurposed old barn, working windmill, and old trucks and farm equipment strategically scattered around the camping area. Host Katrina is also warm and welcoming and really cares about making sure guests enjoy their stay. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying in this part of SE Qld.

We enjoyed our time at Mountview, the views were great and the kids enjoyed being out and about - the swing, pool table and spotlight were winners. The fire pit got a work out - we cooked damper, toasted marshmellows and baked banana/chocolate/marshmellow splits for dessert. The amenities were lovely and clean, and only one other camper each night - so pretty private. Nice and close to Toowoomba - a great little stop if visiting for The Carnival of Flowers.

We had a fantastic stay at this Hipcamp! The host was very welcoming and friendly, which made us feel right at home. Being a small farm stay with only a few campsites, it felt safe and secure — perfect for the kids, who loved having space to ride and play around the campground. The amenities were spotless and well maintained, which made our stay even more comfortable. We also loved that campfires were allowed, and being able to buy wood directly from the host was such a bonus, especially on a cold weekend. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend this Hipcamp for families or anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with great hospitality.

This is a beautiful spot for a getaway. Lovely sunrise and sunset views. Loved seeing the cows wandering the fields and the farm in action (our kids loved seeing the tractor and Quad driving around). Katrina could not have been a better host. We'll be back for sure

We loved camping at Mountview Farmstay! The barn was a great place to wind down at night, the toilets and shower facilities were very clean and Katrina was a wonderful host! We got some eggs and honey from Katrina, so fresh! Thank you for letting us stay at your place!

This was our first camping experience in Australia as recent ditch jumpers from NZ, and we loved it. Katrina and Ian were incredibly accommodating, quick to communicate, and clearly take pride in everything they provide at Mountainview Farmstay. The property, facilities, and adorable animals are all top-notch. We’ve already recommended it to our friends!

What an amazing 3 night stay at Farmview. Our host Katrina was amazing and couldn’t do enough for us! We camped in a tent, walked around the farm and even spoke to the cattle! Sunrise and sunsets were amazing, camp fires were great and a game of pool in the barn was awesome. The entire facility was amazing, toilets and shower were super clean and the communal barn is a great place. Highly recommend. Thanks again Katrina for everything and we will see you again. Mountainview farmstay was there perfect retreat for a couple of nights for us to get away from city life. Katrina’s property is beautiful and she keeps the facilities immaculate. Plenty to do while staying here too. A pool table, tv, camp kitchen plus chooks and cattle to watch. Sunsets are special. So relaxing and Katrina is a wonderful host. The eggs and honey available for purchase were delicious and firewood to purchase too for those cold winter nights or for cooking over the fire. We’ll definitely be back!
