Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat is a small family owned and operated campground on the shores of Beautiful lake Moogerah in the heart of the Scenic Rim, SEQLD. We are conveniently located only 2km from the Cunningham Hwy and are set in a quiet bush location surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Scenic Rim. We have a range of accommodation including powered and unpowered camp sites, group camp areas, bunk style cabins and a fully self-contained cabin. There is never a shortage of things to do, you can take a canoe or boat out for a cruise on the lake or try your luck at some fishing. Moogerah is well known for its large Bass & Yellow belly. There is a good bushwalk at the property that takes you out to Striker point and into the gorge waterfall with spectacular views along the way. If you have a 4wd you can take a short drive up to Spicers Gap National Park. Here there is a short walk out to the Governors Chair lookout with spectacular views of the Fassifern Valley and beyond. We currently don't have a boat ramp however once you have launched your boat at the public boat ramp we have a nice bay in front of the campground where you can anchor your boat.

Approx 40 unpowered campsites available, sites are undesignated and are first in best dressed. Each site is limited to one tent, camper trailer, or caravan, with a maximum of 6 guests per site. Separate sites must be booked for each setup. Please note the potable water is from one central location -please see the caretaker for the potable water location. Not all of the powered and unpowered sites have water hookups and these taps are dam water, not potable water so you would need to boil this water prior to drinking. We also have 8 powered camping sites, bunk style cabins, and a fully self-contained 3-bedroom cottage. We can also cater for large group bookings like weddings and school camps with 100 beds available in 6 cabins, we also have a 100 seat dining hall fully equipped with a commercial kitchen.

The Cottage is a three bedroom, fully self contained house with a kitchen including fridge, stove, oven and microwave. It sleeps up to 6 people in a Queen bed in the main room, two singles in the second room and 1 bunk (2 single beds) in the third room. There is a t, DVD player, air conditioning, gas bbq and campfire. Guest to supply own linen and towels. Pillows and light comforters are provided but during the cooler months we suggest you bring extra blankets or donnas. No boat ramp currently onsite, to launch boats please launch from the public boat ramps. PLEASE NOTE: BYO Linen

King Parrot Bunk Cabin
Well set up amenities and grounds, and plenty of room. Beautiful surrounding bush and water outlook. Megan and caretaker Graham were very helpful when we had an issue with our boat. Many thanks for a carefree, lovely stay.

Everything was clean and tidy and amenities were very convenient. It's set in a lovely area. However very hot in the wooden cabins, next time I will come up with a plan for that, it was still a great stay.

We camped on the waterfront in a self contained van. We got what appeared to be the only really good level site for a large van. It was a quiet relaxing area with great views of the dam with easy access for putting in the kayaks. Only downside was the dust/dirt that you need to camp on. The dust got into everything which made it quite uncomfortable to camp in.

Great view of the lake from the lower unpowered sites, make sure to get in early as the spots fill up late Friday and through Saturday. Hot showers are awesome and included in booking fees. Some more flat areas for trailers and caravans would be good 😊

Really enjoyed the site and we had a good time. Unfortunately, cleaning of the facilities (showers and toilets) seems to be done once a day. That, with no dirt mitigation strategies means that the toilets and showers are covered with brown dirt and water meaning fresh clothes and have to be placed very strategically.

Awesome place, clean, quiet at night, we has a lake front unpowered spot which was amazing with great views. We went kayaking, had great weather for the weekend. The place seems to attract friendly, respectful people, is dog friendly and well facilitated with kitchen, bench seating microwave, fridge etc. and clean toilets and hot showers. We loved our short stay which was only 1 hr from brisbane. We will defineatly be back soon for a longer stay when we have time. Thank you

Overall, we had a great experience. Unfortunately, the sites are too close to each other, and there is no proper management to control noise during the night. Some groups played loud music until 3 a.m., which made it impossible for people to fall asleep.

The owners gave a warm welcome and left us to it. We camped on the lake side, and wow, what a view! Plenty of room, and although the camp ground got busy, it was a friendly atmosphere, and everyone was quiet in the evening. We had a boat, which we launched from the public boat ramp (15min drive) and he drove the boat across to camp while I drove the car and trailer back. One windy day had us pack up the gazebo and we couldn’t go on the lake, but the next day was perfect!

Rainbow Lorikeet Bunk Cabin
This is a fantastic location for a summer/spring camp. We still enjoyed it with cold nights spent around the fire but it would have been great to have a enclosed room to play games in around a table as an option instead of around the fire. We loved the space and the lake for the kids to explore, to throw a line or go out for a paddle. All in all, we loved it and would happily return.

The place is quiet compared with the major camp site at Lake moogerah, and it’s well maintained and with beautiful scenery. I would like to stay with them again if I visit lake Moogerah in the future.

I loved the view near lake,we were so lucky no one there just us. Because we camping on Sunday and Monday. Just didn't caught any fish,my husband so excited about to catch fish in the lake,I think is because the lake too shallow,Next time we will bring kayak to catch fish.We also saw many Kangaroo there,they are so cute. But also a lots of Kangaroo shit everywhere.

We stayed in a 12 bed cabin with access to amenities block and camp kitchen. Perfect to keep out of 2 degree winter and still enjoy a campfire each night with our kids. Kangaroos every morning and afternoon to watch chew on the grass. Family time, no screen time....no internet. Great place to unwind. Dog friendly on a leash. We loved the serenity.

Well maintained campsite and powered cabins with bunks. Great facilities; kitchen, hot showers and fire pits/firewood available on site. Very accessible from Brisbane, Ipswich or Gold Coast. Nice wineries and cafes within half an hour drive. Thanks for a great stay.

It is on a bit of a hill which made it a little difficult finding a spot without a self levelling camper trailer. Although, it is a nice little camping spot amongst some trees and close to the water. And with a option to stay a single night.
