Ironstone Creek Sanctuary is a nature refuge nestled in the Mary Valley, Gubbi Gubbi Country. The campground is private, quiet and secluded with access only via 4WD or foot from the car park at the entrance to the property (approx 200m). It is a private campground, only available to one small group at a time (groups of approximately 8 people). It is bush camping at its essence - no showers, composting bush dunny and all rubbish will need to be taken out with you, we ask visitors to leave no trace. We do ask that guests respect the campground and the wildlife that call this place home. Also, bear in mind the products that you use, e.g eco dish soap & hand soap, and only paddle in the creek with minimal sunscreen or insect repellant. The campsite has a fire pit, however you will need to bring your own firewood (please check with us if there is a fire ban). Camp fires have cooking grills so you can enjoy cooking your evening meal on an open fire. We do ask that you don't burn fallen wood as it provides homes to creatures. Here there are a number of ecosystem types, including Acacia open woodland, notophyll vine forest, Eucalyptus tall open forest and grassland. It is home to countless bird species (our favourites are the yellow tail black cockatoo and rainbow bee eaters), wallabies, antechinus, reptiles including red belly black snakes, carpet pythons, tree snakes and lace monitors. There is a small seasonal creek and dam on the property. Both providing paddling/swimming opportunities to guests. Have a sundowner listening to the raucous call of the yellow tail black cockatoo as they fly overhead, spot countless species of frogs and catch a glimpse of a wallaby. Evenings can be whiled away watching the spectacular display put on by the night sky. Be awoken by the dawn chorus and spend the day exploring and splashing in the creek. This is a nature lovers paradise. To keep this a peaceful place we do not allow dogs, drones, generators, chainsaws or anything really noisy, sorry! We do ask that noise is reduced by 9 pm.Pitch your tent at our eco camp and you will have complete privacy. The site has a firepit and composting bush toilet. Such a gorgeous space. Incredibly private with lots of tree coverage, but not so much that you can't see the stars at night 😍 Great loo set up which was appreciated too. Jess and Angus were super lovely too 😌🙏 thanks you!

Ironstone Creek Eco Camp
This place was beautiful and peaceful. Jessica and Angus are wonderful hosts, welcoming us on arrival and making sure we had all we need. The best part was having the place to ourselves (they only book one group at a time) so we had the peaceful Easter that we wanted. Beautiful Australian bush surroundings and a few fun activities for the younger kids such as a kids bush kitchen and a swing. The toilet is very clean which is always a plus! Highly recommend.
