Overall was a lovely place and good bang for buck however with the owners being new to Renting out their land to Hipcampers they should probably think twice about what they say to camper’s because it does get around. The dogs on the property were friendly however the male dog kept urinating on all our stuff and the kids tent and a comment was made from Amy to the campers beside us which went along the lines of “oh well it’s not our stuff” and laughed about the situation during conversation. No effort to deter the dog from his behaviour either (obviously). The neighbours informed us of this comment afterwards as they too didn’t find it very funny and their stuff was also having to be hosed off over and over. If this didn’t happen then 8/10 for a review as it’s very windy there so I don’t advise putting your awning up unless you park sideways.

Amy was super helpful and a wonderful host, the camp was easy to find with clear signage🦖. The easy access entry gate fitted our 22m rig easily so we could get off the road to open and close the gate. Heaps of space and easy to park our big rig, communal fire pit available too! It was an easy 20 minute drive into Cairns for exploring. Highly recommend!

Beautiful setting peaceful and very tranquil & secure setting . very relaxing approx 25 minutes to cairns and all the tourist activities such as sky railway and train🚃 . Large site catering for both powered and unpowered vans easy access.
Hosts extremely helpful and would highly recommend.

Had 4 great days here. Great spot to park up for a few days and explore the Cairns Region. Hosts are very accomodating and welcome pets. Water and camp fires on site. The back drop of Walsh’s Pyramid and the cane fields make for a perfect peaceful setting.

This place is awesome, 5mins from town with all supplies, or 20mins from the city of Cairns with all the activities. So quiet, really friendly owners, always improving something for the campers benefit. Highly recommend.

Perfect spot to enjoy Cairns. Everywhere in Cairns was completely booked out so this was the perfect alternative. We were on unpowered but there is taps and long hoses so we could top up our tanks as much as we needed. Heaps of space for kids to enjoy and roam around. Horses too. Very cool spot. Woolies just down the road :) It was super wet when we were there so be careful on the mud. They just added a road base so heaps better now. And the new gate setup is so perfect. The hosts are improving everything. 100% recommend :) I believe a communal firepit is coming soon too! Hosts are so friendly and delivered us passion fruit every day haha

This is a paddock in amongst cane fields with a lot of caravans when we stayed. Think unpowered caravan park, we were lined up with not enough space to put the car next to the van. Due to weather it was also very muddy. A lot of off leash dogs and kids in the arvo when everyone was back for the day. For us this meant we couldn't walk our dog on the property. It was good for somewhere safe to leave the van for the day whilst exploring Cairns but not a place to sit and enjoy. Probably good for families travelling together or groups as much cheaper than van park if you have children.

We would 110% recommend this HIPCAMP.
It is a short distance to Cairns CBD, Innisfail, cape tribulation and the Atherton tablelands. his means you’re able to really utilise the region and stay for a decent period of time (if you wanted). The camp is close to really beautiful natural attractions and tourist destinations such as Isabella falls, paronella park, Hartleys and Josephine falls. These are some really iconic spots that are easily accessible.
The camp at self is a nice flat ground. You have the option of powered or unpowered and regardless of where you are, you’re able to get water.
The owners are amazing. They have done such an incredible job in such a short amount of time and we are so excited to see how much their hipcamp is going to grow. There are two gorgeous kelpies (Marty and Bodie) that like to run around the property so dogs are definitely more than welcome. There are horses chickens and epic wildlife which makes it fantastic for kids. Our two kids have been playing the entire time we have been here and I dreading leaving.
You are allowed campfires at this side. It is bring your own wood and Firepit. Gordonvale is 6minuyes away which has everything you need.
We love is HIPCAMP and we are devastated that we have to leave.

Highleigh is a great farm stay, having power & water is such a bonus. We caught up with all our washing. We spent 3 days got to do everything we wanted to in Carins & surrounds. We love not being in caravan parks & the the cost is half the price. We will be back. Thanks Amy.

We absolutely recommend this HIPCAMP.
It is a short drive to Cairns city. It is six minutes from local shops and amenities in Gordonvale. It has power and water that’s accessible. You can book an unpowered or powered site. Water is available. This awesome camp allowed pets and you’re allowed fires (you have to bring your own wood and fire pits).
We have absolutely loved our stay here. Booked for 3 nights and stayed 7 nights. Amy has created such a great environment to camp and feel safe.
If you’re looking to go to cairns, book here. It’s 20 mins away and is gorgeous. From the horses to the roosters, chicken, and doggos, we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We have very much enjoyed our stay. Level flat ground with power and water pretty mountains with a cane field beside us. Horses dogs and chickens and very kind and helpful owners and managers.

Perfect spot. Plenty of Sun for Unpowered, water available if you need to quickly top up for your stay. Amy and Doug are perfect hosts, coming round every few nights to check up on everyone with a few beers and a chin wag. Highly recommend!

We HIGHLY recommend this spot. We had a very relaxing stay. There was plenty of room. Water available. Powered and unpowered sites. Gordonvale was a lovely little place. Had everything we needed like Woolworths and a dump point. About 25mins into Cairns. Quite close to Behana Gorge which was a beautiful spot. The animals were friendly and quiet. The host, Amy, was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. We wished we had stayed here the previous time we were in Cairns. It was a perfect base to explore the area. 10/10

It quiet and peaceful away from the hussle and bussle of traditional caravan parks. The chooks roamed around and I think it was guinea fowl would roost in a nearby tree at night. It was fun to watch the guinea fowl run around. Amy was helpful and friendly.
