A private retreat with a very friendly host who upgraded us to power and water for no extra charge! Not many other campsites on Maggie so we were very happy we could take our van across. Thanks Steve!

Very nice welcome. The situation was great for visiting. We used the toilets and showers at Horseshoe Bay and that worked out just fine. Lots of beautiful birds and wallabies.

Great spot, fabulous hosts. If travelling by vehicle Barge make the most of your stay on Magnetic Island and stay for more than a few days.

Steve and Leonie were very helpful. The block was flat and pretty close to Horseshoe Bay. We were the only campers. It really was a hidden corner.

Steve and his wife were great hosts. Friendly, kind, helpful and happy to help. Arrival was easy, there’s plenty of space and privacy. We would recommend it 100% to a friend.

Steve was very kind. He gave us great tips about what to do on the island and Australia in general. He took his time explaining everything and even as a bonus gave us electricity, which for the price and heat was incredible! The hidden corner is truly hidden and we saw some wallabies hopping around in the evenings before coming in and heard lots of other wildlife whilst being in a quiet spot. Overall, can recommend.

Great site,private and well protected. Quiet and peaceful with a plethoria of birdlife! Easy access to multiple water taps, Steve let me connect to a powercord run from his house to keep my fridge cool in the 30+ degree days.
The only aspect to be aware of the is no shade, but if you have awnings its sorted, great for solar panels tho. Steve is friendly and knowledgeable about all the good stuff on Magnetic island!

We had such a nice time at Steve’s place. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t helping us a lot but Steve and his wife were an absolute blast to us. They helped us dealing with the marchflies, offered us their veranda and were super helpful to dry all of our wet stuff after the rain. Once again thanks sooo much!

We stayed at Steve’s place for 2 nights recently and it was such a lovely place. Perfect location and not far from anywhere 😊 we were the only ones there. Super affordable for camping on a island 😊

Such a lovely spot!! Close to Horseshoe Bay with it's gorgeous scenery and restaurants. Also very conveniently located for The Forts walk and just a quick zip to Nelly Bay.
We felt really safe here. Steve and Leonie were so lovely and made us feel welcome instantly. It was a great stop for our 3 nights on the island.
We will definitely stay here again!

Steve is a very lovely, accommodating host! We were welcomed warmly and offered many great local spots to visit. Communicating with our host was easy and the camping spot itself (seperate from Steve’s house) is completely contained with a 7ft fence, so our doggy was able to roam around comfortably. We didn’t need water during our stay, but there are taps available to plug in. Will definitely stay here again if we visit the island again.

We had a great time at Steve's. The location of the campsite is ideal and you are surrounded by nature and wildlife (Kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, parrots). Steve and Leonie are very nice and hospitable, we would love to come back! Ideal place for accommodation on Magnetic Island, we recommend!
