We have 9 gorgeous Scottish Highlands, the Scottish folk pronounce it "Heilen Coos" so that's how we say it, I'm not spelling it wrong đŸ€©đŸ˜†You'll meet Kelvin the Scottish Highland Bull, Oakley her calf Lucy, Willow and her calf Ferdinand (Ferdi), and our new additions Dusty and Maddi, they can be both fun and relaxing to watch doing zoomies around the yard, swimming in the dam or chilling under a tree 😁 We have 2 new little ones Alfie and Angus Keep in mind from December to March we have hot, rainy summers. For the adventurous campers who use swags/tents, we suggest a stretcher and a gazebo with walls for a little comfort. Some areas need 4wd also. Check in is after 1pm and check out is strictly before 10.30am, we promise you will get your 'Heilen Coo' fix 😝 We have Souvineers and firewood please bring cash 😍 Be mindful around all animals as they get to know you, be smart please. Kids can bring bikes, must be supervised at all times, no screaming or running. Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉 Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe. Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties. Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature, we guarantee you will have an amazing experience. 6 Kms in at our historic Childers there is a Woolworths, IGA, great pubs for lunch, cafes and bakeries, plus a swimming pool, museum, snakes down under and Woodgate beach 25 mins away.

This site is located among the trees so a lot of shade, great for warmer weather, not so much if you need solar. It would suit camper van, tents, swags or rooftop tents. Ferdi and Lucy's site is a gorgeous one near the dam. If you have a group, it would be good for 8 guests, 2 to 3 vans a few swags/tent, you get the idea :) Get away from the hussle and bustle Relax near the billabong or have a quiet walk around the farm meeting the animals. There's a good chance you'll see the highlands getting in the dam to cool off. Hand feed is around 4 depending on weather so take care and please join in. There is potable water and a toilet close by. Shower is a converted horse float for guests that arent self sufficient :) Generators allowed between 9am and 11am. And 2pm until 4pm only. Please consider others. Check in is after 1 pm... in case hubby and I need to both go somewhere, check out is 10.30 am

You have got ample room at Yellowstone. It's not as shady but great if you need to use solar, and is close to toilet and shower if you are not self sufficient. While you relax and soak up the usually peaceful farm vibe be sure to visit the animals. Hand feeding is at 4 or 5 depending on the weather. Enjoy a book under a beautiful big shady gumtree or go for a bush walk, whatever you like to do this is your time and we'll be happy to make it memorable for you. Check in is after 1 pm & checkout strictly 10.30 am Generators allowed between 9am and 11am. And 2pm until 4pm

This site is just a short walk to where we feed the Coos, there is a porta loo close by, lots of shade and bird life like kookaburras, one of our favourite. This site is suitable for swags right up to 4wds and vans. So whether you relax, read a book under a beautiful big shady gumtree or go for a short bush walk, we are sure your visit will be enjoyable. Generators allowed between 9am and 11am. And 2pm until 4pm only. Check in is after 1 pm... we need the time to get sites ready and checkout is strictly 10.30 am

This site is up and out of the way a little with some beautiful gumtrees around and lots private space. Walk around the farm or just chill near the billabong with a book or some music and soak up nature. Be sure to catch the feeding and brushing of the fluffy Coos at around 4 depending on weather, 5pm in summer :) đŸ€  You are walking distance to a toilet and also drinking water is available ,this site has some shade . plenty of sun for solar Generators allowed between 9am and 11am. And 2pm until 4pm only. We hope you have a nice peaceful time Check in is after 1 pm... we need the time to get sites ready and checkout is strictly 10.30 am Happy camping 🏕

My favourite place to camp is at Gumtree Dam Highlands, the place, the animals, the peace & the people. Your hosts, Chrissy & Duane go above & beyond to look after their animals & guests. You'll feel safe & relaxed, it's a perfect place for solo campers, couples, families & groups. Highlights are definitely feeding and brushing the Highland Cows, and watching all the other farm animals. Not to forget beautiful sunrises & sunsets too. If you want to explore the property there's lots to see walking or bike riding around, and/or explore the local area - 10 minute drive to Childers, and 25 minutes to Woodgate Beach. Amazing camp-site wonderful clean toilets showers. The owners were Amazing the aminals floor less I'm frankly loving it my got to have morning ride on quad which they loved. Ps ivy and joel both say massive thank you and we will be with whole family

We enjoyed our stay at Yellowstone. Hosts were very welcoming and the amenities were clean. Close to the town centre and 25 mins to Woodgate. Will be back again.

Eric's camp was great, with a beautiful view of sunset over the dam. Great spot to run the solar panel to recharge the batteries. The push bikes provided were a great surprise, something we have yet to see in our trips to other places.

Kids absolutely loved the two crazy goats and the wife loved to fluffy coos and I enjoyed sitting back watching with a beer. 100 out of 10 will be recommending this farm to everyone.

This was an absolutely stunning place to camp! Chrissy and Duane were so friendly and welcoming. They even let us feed and brush the animals, which my 5-year-old daughter absolutely loved—she was in heaven, as were her mumma and grandma. The farm is full of quirky antiques and hilarious little signs that bring a smile to your face and add so much charm to the surroundings. It’s such a beautiful, unique place. We will definitely be back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable camping experience!

Yellowstone
We spent 3 nights at Yellowstone site, and nice and close to the Highland cows, sheep and goats. Chrissy & Duane do an amazing job of making you feel at home, along with Cane and Jesse. Was an awesome experience getting to feed the cows sweet potatoes, they truly are gentle giants. Shower and Toilet close by as well plus they topped us up with ice and firewood, and all very reasonably priced. Was a great 3 days! Unfortunately it’s back to reality!

My Family had an amazing weekend at Gumtree Dam Highland, the farm is absolutely beautiful, campsite lovely and shady with plenty of space. Chrissy and Duane were wonderful, so friendly and lovely to chat with, nothing was too much trouble they just want you to have a wonderful time and enjoy their beautiful farm. The animals were amazing Highland Coo so friendly and feeding they was an experience we will never forget. Their friendly farm area with goats, ducks, chickens and Guinea pigs was awesome for my son he loved going in interacting with the animals have many pats. We will definitely recommend this camp site for a wonderful family experience and we can't wait to go back and visit again and see all the new plans they have for this wonderful farm stay. A must for anyone wanting a farm stay with wonderful hosts.

Perfect setting looking straight at all the animals, close to the shower and toilet. Being that close to the animals meant we had visitors from the chickens, sheep and the peacock through out the day.

Camped at the ferdi and Lucy site, had the best time there! Chrissy and Duane are awesome hosts! The coos are definitely a highlight of the trip and loved feeding and brushing them in the mornings and afternoons! but also loved their goats, sheep, peacock, ducks, chickens and Guinea pigs too, but there beautiful dogs cane and Jessie were the favourites! Cane is always coming down to check on us and even escorted us to the toilet and sat watch at night. The property is easy access and any car would make it in. Multiple outhouses around the property with lights and even a horse float converted into a shower with hot water and lights. Great place for all ages that are animal loving people! Cutes little store with all the necessities (even ice cream) In my opinion this is a must visit camp site and we will definitely be going back!

We had the best time at GumTree Dam Highlands. Chrissy and Duane were great and super accommodating. The wooly coos were too cute and we loved waking up and seeing them roam around. Getting to brush the two babies, Angus and Alfie was such a bonus. We will be back for sure.

We loved camping at Gumtree Dam Highlands. Chrissy and Duane are very welcoming hosts. We absolutely adored all the farm animals and were excited to be included at feeding time. Chrissy and Duane are happy to talk about the animals with the guests. We found out a lot about the characters of each the cows at feeding time. We stayed at the Ferdi and Lucy site which felt quite private and had views of the dam. We enjoyed our peaceful mornings listening to the birds near our camp. It is a beautiful relaxing spot and will definitely be back to stay again.

We loved camping at Chrissy and Duane’s farm stay. The open sites were great with lots of space and accessible clean toilets. The highlight of our stay was definitely the farm animals. They were all friendly and loved a pat. We will definitely be back.

Just finished unpacking after a fantastic few days hanging with Chrissy & Duane’s Highland Coos! Camped as part of a group - plenty of space & felt very private. As hosts Chrissy & Duane are fabulous & worked to make sure my girls had the best time and have a range of activities to keep them busy. Will be back!

10/10 for this place, the amazing hosts and the beautiful animals. So much care put into making this an enjoyable destination. The ability to interact with the animals was precious. Seeing them freely wander past your campsite topped it all off.

An amazing farmyard experience

My daughter, son and I loved our stay in Cane’s Cabin. Very comfortable beds and well equipped. My older son, wife and children were camped on the Ferdinand site. It was a great family trip. The animals on the property were amazing and very entertaining. Chrissy and Duane went out of their way to give my 3yo grandson a farm experience. Loved all of the rustic touches. We are very grateful to Chrissy and Duane for opening up their paradise.
