In high season we were all on our own here for two nights. We never met Rick, but interactions were all friendly. We had an amazing time with a camp fire, wild Kangaroos, Kakadus, Toads, Enchidna, Firelights. For us as tourists it was an unforgettable experience! Only downside is there is no bins.
Watch out: it is just as, if not more mosquito-y as it looks so make sure you have enough bug spray.

Welcome arrival ,can pick your own spot ,very quiet close to beach convenience store restaurant and RSL and Hervey Bay lots of kangaroos, lots of firewood

Good spot to stay for access to Fraser region. Toilets were decent, plenty of firewood available for free. Owner is doing work to create a good sized water hole. Has neighbours quite close so this is not a party Camp, noise needs to be kept low to help owner keep his neighbours happy. Good value for money camp, & owner is friendly.

Disgusting all dug up couldn’t stay there and cannot get a refund spent $160 for nothing

A wonderful green and quiet space to park our RV and just relax !
Kangaroos and brush turkeys and abundant bird life.
An easy walk to the beach and shopping area.

Had the place all to ourselves mostly except for a few friendly/nervous wallabies and a good selection of birds. Quiet as, with good facilities in toilets and drinking water available and neatly kept grounds. Left to do our own thing which is exactly what we wanted. Close enough to places and things if you wanted to get out and about.

We had a great time, we were the only ones there. The property is well set out in a bush setting with everything you need.
Rick was great with his communication and when greeting us.
Pitty the same can’t be said for the hipcamp support. I want this to be a positive review however Hipcamp support cannot help me and automatically takes me to a negative review page.

The property is pretty flat and trees are well spaced, so there are nice spots to set up. If there is a lot of rain the ground could get wet and boggy perhaps. There are 3 or 4 porta toilets provided should you need them. The area is very quiet and we did get some kangaroos visiting in the area near us, but they are timid so tended to keep to themselves. A short drive to Toogoom beaches, which were very nice, and a 20 minute or so drive to Hervey Bay. We enjoyed our stay very much. Recommend having a meal or take away from Goody's near the boat ramp.

We had a fantastic stay at Ricky's Hipcamp. Lots of space, good location and clean portable loos available. Kangaroos visiting in the morning and evenings were lovely to see.

Ricky’s place was a lovely peaceful place to enjoy camping close to Hervey Bay. I stayed by myself (solo female) and enjoyed a quiet campfire and night under the stars with only a handful of other campers spread out across a large area. There is some nice bird life from the nearby forest and close (4 min) to the O’regans creek mouth for spotting migratory shorebirds. Ricky is an easygoing and friendly fella who says sometimes Magpie Geese come to visit the water at Critter Creek campground. I only dropped by for a night but would stay again or recommend it for sure. Thanks for having me!

Alovely quiet spot, surrounded by trees, plenty of grass and several kangaroos. There were no other campers on site so we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet all by ourselves. Plenty of firewood lying around and Rick even provided metal fire pits to keep everything safe. Also on site, a portaloo which was clean and even had lots of paper and flushing water. The local facilities (shops etc) were small, but adequate. For supermarkets etc, Hervey Bay was only a 15 minute drive away. Toogoom Beach was beautiful and very sparsely populated. A great spot. The signage at the entrance does not advertise the campsite - only the Critter Creek Kennels, which tends to be bit confusing when looking for a campground.

Quiet and peaceful, Ricky v helpful at responding to late booking. Facilities very basic, 1 portaloo with (dead) spiders at far end of campsite found after lots of wandering around in the dark and asking for directions!

Ricky was a good host, left us do what we wanted. Respect.
Peaceful and quiet with 4 other campers 50-100mm away,
Plenty of shade,
Ground is more suited to vehicles not so much for tents.
Potable water at Homestead if you ask nicely or at boat ramp.
Fire pits onsite however can bring your own if you got enough brains to be fire safe as the grounds are mostly dried slashed grass and surrounding bushland.
X1 Portable toilet centre of grounds.
Boat ramp and general store up the road.
Overall, great quiet spot.
