A special place on the banks of the Mary River. 50 acres of undulating grassy paddocks and beautiful blue gums along the river bank. The river is freshwater and beautiful for swimming, kayaking, canoeing or boating, you could try and catch a Bass for dinner. The 5 flat grassy sites are right on the rivers edge with good access to the water. The stairs into the water with the pontoon are perfect for diving in and cooling off, the kids love it!! Leave your boat in tied to the pontoon ready for the next days fishing trip. There's a BBQ with hop plate, table & chairs and deck chairs to sit back and relax. Access to the campsites are 2Wd and suitable for all size caravans and camp trailers. The boat ramp access is for all types of boats but 4x4 only as the ramp is gravel. As the weather warms watch the families pass by water skiing and boating. There is a toilet, fully Self-contained other than a toilet. Dogs are allowed but must be kept with you at all times.Grassy area's right on the fresh water river bank. Lovely green, grassy spot right on the river. Very tidy and each camp spot has heaps of space. Enjoyed dinner by the fire. Thanks for having us!

This was our second time here. The place is amazing. The portable toilet was well maintained. Beautiful part of the river. Took the kayak for an explore. Saw a couple of lungfish which was pretty special

Highlight for me was swimming in the lovely Mary River from the pontoon. Clean porta loo, spacious, flat, grassed sites with fire pits & firewood available to purchase. I extended my stay & will return. Thank you Tracey.

Tracey was good with communication and the place was easy to find. We like that there were minimal campsites and being numbered were easy to find. Great spot, great outlook over the river and very relaxing. Storm on Saturday night was an added bonus.

Great spot, right on the mary very relaxing spot. Sites are a great size and Well maintained. The toilet was kept very clean as well. We will be back

The close proximity to the rivers edge. Knowing that you have plenty of room around your campsite. And of course, they are very easy going welcoming hosts.

We loved camping in the Blue Gums river retreat. The kids spend hours in the kayak fishing and going on the swings. The property is gorgeous and it’s so nice to have a clean working toilet. Thank you!

Upon arriving,we were very impressed by the warm friendly welcome by Tracey as well as the beautiful picturesque surrounds. The camp sites were huge with each having their own fire pit. The peaceful serenity was just what we were after,as well as a bit of entertainment every now and then with boats and skiing on the beautiful river. We would recommend this amazing stay in a heartbeat,to anyone that values a pleasurable, clean and affordable getaway..

I stayed two nights in this place with my partner and it was AMAZING, the weather and the place was perfect, Tracey and her partner were very kind to us even though our English is very basic they were patient and talked to us and gave us some delicious passion fruits, the bathroom and the place in general was very clean. Sunrise there is like being in a movie really🙉😍 we didn't want to leave, we will definitely come back and recommend to our friends this wonderful place 🧡

Blue Gums River Retreat
The camp itself is magnificent, view of the river and size of the sites are second to none. Tracy was a fantastic host, very responsive and you can see how much she cares for the area in the way it’s maintained and setup. Not too many sites so it’s not overcrowded, toilet is very clean and there is firewood if you didn’t bring your own. Would definitely recommend and I’ll 100% be back

Beautiful property on the Mary River. 5 spacious, lawn sites in one area. 2 sites near the boat ramp, lots of trees which would be better in summer. Very clean and toilet on site. Dog friendly. Bandicoot come around at night and another person said they saw a platypus. Lots of birds, brown honeyeater and lots of scarlet honeyeaters around.

We had 4 adults 3 kids, loved camping in the spacious sites, clean toilets a bonus, which was well stocked up. The jetty was a big hit. Plenty of room for the kids to play. We can't wait for our next visit. Thanks for having us, see u soon

Tracey is a very accomodating host, beautiful well kept lawns as well. Port-a-loo is always kept clean & fresh, which is a bonus when camping. Beautiful river, great for all sorts of water craft from canoes to Tinny boats. Our dog loved the open area’s as well!

Site 1 is located on a gorgeous open grassed area overlooking the Mary River. There are native trees full of so many species of birds. We found ourselves relaxing and that was very good. We were only there 2 nights and would definitely stay there again.

Blue Gums River Retreat
A nice secluded location. There are only 7 camping spots, although more could be accommodated, and quite separated. Direct access to the river is difficult as there is a lot of overhanging trees and a steep drop to the water. Fishing or swimming off the floating pontoon is very possible. When the breeze is calm it is possible to just hear traffic on the Bruce Highway or a passing train, but it is not intrusive. Toilets were clean, and firewood was available for purchase (honesty system).

We had a lovely time here, beautiful scenery by the river. Camping is on the more expensive side for a campsite without facilities is the only consideration as to whether we'd return, but it was a beautiful spot!

Blue Gums was exactly as we hoped. Beautiful peaceful spot by the river, nice spacious sites and well maintained. Nice clean toilets and friendly hosts too. We will be back!

Absolute river front peaceful views. Portaloo was exceptionally clean. The site was huge with its own firepit 🔥 I was fortunate enough to have the entire area to myself. Felt very safe. (Solo traveller) Lots of beautiful birds snd my dog had an awesome swim. Highly recommended

Great camp on the Mary river with heaps of space. Our site was nice and quiet at the end. Hosts are friendly, welcoming and relaxed. Will definitely be back again.
