Our secluded, private campsites are just a few meters from the beach and the Key Holes lagoons, offering the very best of fresh and salt water in one location. At the moment, only one campsite is open, so you truly will have the place to yourself in an exclusive setting—no one else in sight. There is no infrastructure here, so bring all your camping gear, water, friends, and family, and remember to leave no trace. We are a Traditional Custodian family-run campground that is just getting started. Our aim is to manage and care for Country with a focus on regeneration, conservation, restoration, and weed management, while also providing a beautiful, serene place to camp for visitors to the island. As Traditional Custodians, this is our practice, and in addition, we've over 30 years work experience in conservation and ecosystem management. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the beauty of island life surrounded by nature, with all the conveniences of Point Lookout just 10 minutes away. Proceeds from the campground go toward Caring for Country, sustainable livelihoods, continuation of culture, and living on Country. The island is a mosaic of varied habitats, including extensive wetlands, freshwater lakes, mangroves, coral reefs, seagrass meadows, wallum heathlands, sclerophyll forests, and surf beaches. A massive freshwater aquifer sits beneath the island’s permeable sands. This unique hydrological feature sustains rare acidic, low-nutrient lakes, such as the perched Brown Lake and the water-table window Blue Lake, as well as spring-fed swamps, which are crucial habitats for specialized and sometimes endemic species. We are situated at the meeting point of temperate and tropical waters, with the surrounding Sea Country hosting exceptional marine biodiversity. This is home to our people, and our family connection stretches back into deep time. Tents, swags, and rooftop tents are welcome. This site is not suitable for caravans or camper trailers. Cultural tours, 4WD tours, sandboarding, and spearing can also be arranged—just askCamp 1 is situated right next to the beach. A beautiful area with shade that you will have all to yourself. Step out of your tent and into the water! We pride ourselves in providing exclusive campsites. 4WD acess only. We please ask that you dont drive or camp on the dune in the sectioned off area, as this is a foredune conservation zone to help reduce erosion. Your own composting toilet is provided to the back of the site.

We please ask that you dont drive or camp on the dune in the sectioned off area, as this is a foredune conservation zone to help reduce erosion. Your own composting toilet is provided to the back of the site.
