Andrew Drynan Park is situated on Running Creek, 47 km south of Beaudesert and 19 km from Rathdowney on the Lions Road. The drive from Brisbane will take a couple of hours. It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee. Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp. Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers—a dip in the creek will keep you clean but please don’t use soap or detergent. Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east. Campers & Day Trippers Rules: The Park is for everyone to enjoy, so please adhere to a few simple guidelines while enjoying this beautiful park. By using this park you agree to the following rules. All vehicles entering the park must observe 10 Km per hour speed limit. Fires must be extinguished prior to departure. Park users must clean up their area when leaving, by taking all rubbish, including food scraps and disposable nappies with them, so the next users can enjoy the Park as well. Do not burn your rubbish. It must be taken with you! The disposal of nappies in the grass around the waterline, and in fire pits, is a serious risk to human health, the health of the creek, surrounding stock and the ecosystem! Please be respectful of other camper’s space & privacy! Do not set up on top of other campers. Generator use is restricted to 4 hours per day between the hours of 2pm to 6pm. Dogs must be on short leads and confined to your campsite at all times. No music or noise after 10pm, noise level must at all times be at an acceptable level so as not to disturb other users. No antisocial behavior. No camping on creek banks. No playing around toilet block area. No livestock to be kept on the park. No cutting down trees. No person to travel in the load area of vehicles. No motorcycles other than on the formed roads or when moving between your campsite and the road. No stock whips, firearms or weapons of any sort, chainsaws, drones or fireworks allowed in the park. No use of detergents, soaps or shampoos in creek. No washing dishes or clothing in creek. No hitting of Golf balls. No cricket with cricket ball (tennis ball ok). No swings to be tied to trees. Anyone who is non-compliant may be directed by park management to leave the park and if so must leave without delay. Non-compliance will be referred to local Police and you may face legal action for trespassing. Park management reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to and use of the park. Let’s all enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings. Andrew Drynan Park camping area is a lovely large area in a valley with the Running Creek flowing on the opposite side of the road from the campground. This is a lovely area to camp for a night or two.  Fire pits are provided and there are also toilets.  Dogs are permitted as long as they are kept on a leash.

Beautiful place to camp and escape reality. I camped alone with my dog and felt completely safe. Barry also makes sure to check on everyone every day, he's an absolute gem. Will definitely be coming back!

We loved camping at Andrew Drynan Park. The kids had a blast in the creek and playing on the campground. Plenty of space. Beautiful views of the mountains all round. The amenities and grounds were kept very clean and Dan and Barry were great tending to our concerns when we brought them up about some weekend campers loud music til the early hours of the morning and polluting.

Andrew Drynan Park is an absolute gem. The creek is stunning—clear, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing by the water. The campground itself is beautifully maintained and spotless, surrounded by old, majestic trees that make the whole place feel serene and special. A huge highlight was Dan, who truly went above and beyond to make sure solo female travellers felt safe, welcome, and looked after. His kindness made the experience unforgettable—and his stubbie coolers are awesome too! Highly recommend this place for a calm, scenic, and genuinely warm stay.

The price is basically half if you just pay onsite. Overall a nice camp ground, creek is great, a few more level spots wouldn’t hurt, just packed with people. We had a group of 30 setup within 5m of us and surround us. Used our site, extremely loud and disrespectful, left cars running for lights at night. Would attempt to camp far up the back next time to avoid these type of people. Other sites, drunk karaoke and loud music.

Nice location - beautiful mountain views and bubbling river, however sites aren’t very flat for tent/rooftop camping.. loads of thorny weeds, nowhere to actually walk other the road as it’s all private property around there (thought there’d be some hiking/walking tracks) 2 out of 4 of us ended up with ticks…! Loved the rock pools! Bathrooms were clean and well stocked of toilet paper! Firepits at all sites made for safe campfires. Great for a short stay but wouldn’t stay longer than an overnight or 2!

It is undulating land but has quite a few good flat spots. Very quiet and beside a beautiful stream. Occasional train chugs by on the opposite side of the valley. It’s almost exciting to hear one coming.

We stayed at this campsite last Friday and had a wonderful time. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, very relaxing and peaceful. We loved being surrounded by nature, hearing the birds, the breeze, misty morning and the sound of the river nearby. The only downside was that the couple next to us played loud music and spoke quite loudly, which made it a bit hard to fully enjoy the natural sounds. It would’ve been perfect if it was a bit quieter. That said, it didn’t ruin the experience—we’re definitely planning to come back again with friends. This place is truly a gem!

Lots of space at this park to spread out and be far from any neighbours (unless the park is super busy). Easy access to Running Creek and the rock pool and "rapids". Dan the groundskeeper was one of the most down to earth and sincerest people I've ever met and a wealth of local knowledge. Ask him about his hiking tours to the top of the mountain. Thank you for the opportunity to stay here.

Great location, love the creek. Only comment I would make is that it gets a bit busy, and the campsites are pretty packed together. Otherwise we had a great time and the hosts are lovely.

The area was awesome, loved the fire pits left around the place. It was good having toilet facilities kept decently clean. Didn’t realise it was such an incline but still found enough flat spot to enjoy the time. I would say we need more aussies there, lots of different cultures and they are throwing nappies and rubbish everywhere including in the creek. We had to pickup a bucket full of rubbish and it was disgusting

Our first night was great, respectful neighbours, gorgeous views, beautiful creek, clean toilets. Our second night was nearly ruined by a loud family group of about 40 who set up either side of our camp and used our camp as a thoroughfare throughout the day and night regardless of our requests and our reducing our camp’s size. By the second night the toilets and hose area were also a bit grim. Time for a camping etiquette guide perhaps?

I enjoyed the fact that Dan, one of the guys that looked after the camp grounds, made me feel welcomed when I first arrived, and for the fact he offered me a spot on the site which was temporarily closed due to previous weather erosion.

Gorgeous views with extremely well maintained property. Grass short, toilets very clean and Barry ( site owner) cleans them daily. Unfortunately we had an extremely disruptive group of 21 people who decided to arrive at 9pm just as we were putting out children to bed. Big flood lights, loud and zero regard for others. There were a few similar groups like this over the weekend however probably the same most places. Barry and Dan extremely friendly, checking in on everyone and giving tips and facts about the area. Creek was beautiful and great for small kids but also deep enough for anyone to have a float. Overall a stunning location with clean ammenties and friendly owner. Only downside was the rude groups of people but again, you get that anywhere.

Gorgeous area surrounded by rolling hills and a beautiful creek. Barry made sure everyone was comfortable by providing daily check-ins, making sure the amenities were pristine, and he was super friendly. A fantastic spot to stay!

Nice place. With the sounds of a freight train through the night. Heavy due that can soak every thing in the morning so no camping next to the fire like an old cowboy. There's a little private ownedmulti Cafe service station on the way in with limited restock but home made pies are awesome.

Stunning location nestled in the mountain breath taking views, amenities were clean and well.stocked. kids loved having the creek across the road . Loved being able to bring our dog with us as well and the ranger was friendly and checked up in the guests regularly . Would definitely come again

Saturday was great! We had lovely respectful people around us and the noise curfew was strictly adhered to. However, Sunday people were clearing out slowly, and at about 10am others arrived. Filled up their shiska pipe and began playing music. It was loud enough, but the type of music was annoying. Lots of drums. Another thing is take your trash with you. Don’t leave it blowing about the park for others to collect! Dan was lovely. He checked out our booking etc on behalf of Barry. He could not have been friendlier or more helpful.
