This was a great stay..it was by chance we found it advertising for a space to fix our car.. Jennifer could not have done enough for us arranging our stay..we ran into some trouble needing a lift to get parts and Lochy was a great help driving us around to where we needed to go… things you need to know - it is peaceful and away from traffic noise.. there are chooks that say hello each day… the pool was loverly and refreshing and the bathroom was clean and good.. it is a bush setting and although I get eaten by midges and mossies.. I lite the coils early and never had an issue… please clean up after yourselves after you use the bathroom… it is not the hosts job to clean up after every use … thank you Jennifer and Lochy we loved staying at Strangys 🌻

The camp area was perfect. The use of the pool was a bonus. Because of the time of year we needed power for Aircon. This caused a few brownouts. The caretaker was very responsive and reset the power every time we asked. Thanks again 10/10

Pool Camp
I think Strangy's place has so much potential but it just wasn't what we expected. The midgies and marsh flies ravished us and the whole place just seemed like it needed a good tidy up. Pool was lovely and clean but around it was so much dead foliage and cigarette butts.
Toilet and shower I thought was pretty great and what I would expect from a Hipcamp. We hadn't used Hipcamp before. My kids were very excited about all the animals in the description but we didn't see a single bird or lizard, couldn't find the turtle or pond that was mentioned. The owner didn’t appear to be home while we stayed which caused an issue when the dogs got out and jumped in the pool very energetically with our young girls, scratching them. We managed to get onto the owner who quickly organised for someone to come and lock the dogs back up. This kind of highlighted the extra care and attention as a whole that this place needs from someone on site and looking after it more. We wouldn’t stay here again unless we knew the place had been tidied up and given some TLC.

It was easy to contact Jennifer. Good location, close to Darwin but quiet. Easy to find.
Worth the price. Restrooms are modern but not maintained / clean.. No bins available.
(We have a roof tent and we stay at "The Gap")

Had a great couple of nights here! The toilet and shower block was clean and well maintained. The house is quite close to the site, but it still felt private. The pool was very clean and so refreshing!

Jets Stable
We thought Jets Stable was a great spot, being undercover, having a concrete pad and power and water suited our needs. The pool was lovely, and the property was nice and quiet. We did however have an issue with sandflies while we were there. Obviously this can't be helped and is unfortunate.

“The Gap” is a nice little spot amongst the trees. It has a very slight slope (which didn’t worry us in our RTT). The setting is natural and rustic but the amenities are modern and comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay at Strangy’s.

Horse Yard - Unpowered
We stayed in the horse yard which was nice and open, plenty of space and surrounded by trees. My young girls loved the chickens, the lovely pool and all the trees. Such a peaceful spot conveniently located within 30mins of the city and close to many croc tourist attractions.
Lochy was lovely and welcoming and the homegrown bananas were delicious- thank you.

A lovely, private location with a beautiful pool out of the Darwin rat race. Unfortunately the nice owners were not home to see to upkeep of the pool and amenities. Hot water was out of action & no mop or auto door closer to keep frogs & insects out. The blood sucking bugs were not deterred by sprays or candles on our site.

The property is conveniently situated between Palmerston and Coolalinga, offering the perfect blend of rural tranquility and city convenience. It features a gated entrance and ample shade throughout the day. Guests can choose from powered sites, and there are additional amenities like a toilet and shower available for your comfort. I must commend Jennifer for being an exceptional host, always willing to assist whenever possible. A special thanks to Lochy for the support he provided when I needed it. I will certainly return for another stay. Truly a wonderful family!

Pool Camp
We loved camping at the Pool Camp. There was plenty of room for our campervan, nice and close to the pool, and a nice mix of sun and shade. The ability to have a small fire at our site, and access to the toilet and shower, were appreciated. It all felt very private and in a lovely bush setting.

Jennifer is a great host and I highly recommend her place. Jennifer was kind enough to upgrade me from driveway overnight to pool camp for the same price. Will definitely re- book in the near future work permitting

Me and my partner enjoyed camping at pool camp, the owners were really friendly, the also have 3 dogs that are really playful. The pool is nice, clean and also refreshing to cool off. When we come back to the NT, we will 100% be staying here again.

Pool Camp
Pretty well looked after garden and pool area, the Pool Camp site was very large. Friendly dogs who love to visit you if you like being visited and Jenny and Tony were friendly hosts. Midges weren't a big concern as the hosts had fogged the area, but the sandflies can be mean at certain times of the day. We would stay there again and recommend them as hosts.

Jets Lane - Shade Sail
We stayed 5 nights and loved our stay. Jets stable site is roomy and well shaded with a concrete slab floor and access to power and water. It over looks the horse paddock sites so you may see other campers depending on how busy it is but there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out.
The onsite shower/toilet is great and having access to the beautiful pool area was wonderful. Variety of shops with everything you need within 10min drive and it was 25min into the city centre which we did daily.

Wonderful camp to base yourself to explore Darwin & surrounding areas.Jen & Tony are amazing hosts who went out of there way to make our stay enjoyable .Even stored our van & ran us to the airport while we stayed. Large camp site (pool camp )

This was a lovely camp we stayed in the pool camp which was located close to the swimming pool. The property is lovely and quiet and they have a nice shower and toilet available plus trampoline for the kids. Be prepared though the midgies are really bad. We couldn't go outside without covering ourselves in spray or we would get hammered and even had to close all the van windows as they were coming in through the screens. Jenny and Tony did offer to spray the area for us which helped slightly but still couldn't have anything open or they would fill the van.

Good spot to stay 25 mins outside of Darwin. Quiet and peaceful. The swimming pool was very nice to cool off in. There were TONS of midgies and we got eaten alive, but that might just be how they are at this time of year in Darwin.

We loved our stay! A mix of tropical and bush setting. So quiet and peaceful with the most beautiful puppies whom absolutely loved our animal mad 3 year old. Host were lively and very welcoming..
