EXCEPT FOR THE RECENTLY ADDED TULLY 'THOREAU' ISLAND. Salamander Hollow is a private, evolving honeybee and human being sanctuary on 17 acres of land abutting Massachusetts State Forest. We currently have a one-room, wood stove warmed, cozy sleeping loft for one or two - with two benches below on either side of room - for two sleeping bags; plus, a separate 22 foot Sioux tipi with two cots. There are two chairs in the tipi, which if removed at night, make floor room for four other sleeping bags. 'Forest Bathing' for miles! If you're a larger group booking Salamander Hollow main camp with its Sleeping Library, Tipi & Slovenian Beehive House, you might consider renting this additional Tiny Cabin want to entertain all in glamping style, utilizing its amenities; as well, providing another bathroom/shower and guest bedroom for those who prefer being indoors while in the great outdoors. Note that Kula Bata Tiny Cabin abuts the wheelchair accessible larger bathroom/shower which is available to those at the Salamander Hollow main camp, yet you are secluded with your own private entry points and private bathroom. A ten minute drive takes you to the parking area to hike up Tully Mountain. There is a grill, wood fired pizza oven, two fire pits and a hygienic Incinolet electric toilet on the property for night convenience, with small camp sinks for washing & teeth brushing. Take a short hike off the property to organic Chase Hill Farm for milk, eggs, seasonal veggies, grass fed meat and other goodies. Say hello to their cows, chickens, pigs, goats, pups and kids. Nestled across the road from Salamander Hollow is Timber Haven Farm, where you can schedule your pickup of bacon and eggs, while loading up on delicious Owl Energy Bars for your adventurous excursions. For those interested in the glamping side of camping, you will enjoy a remote rustic experience with a few creature comforts to keep you well read, clean and fed. Please bring your own bedding - pillows, sleeping bags, comforter, teddy [xxxxxxxx] is a wall mounted blue tooth car radio/CD player in Sleeping Library, so bring your pre-digital favorites. Classical CDs to listen to. Lots of eclectic books to [xxxxxxxx] talkies, a set of 4, are available upon request. Chess & poker sets, too. Electric 2-burner stovetop and griddle upon request. Bring fire-starters/newspaper for tinder. We suggest if you are staying more than a night or two in winter, you bring supplemental wood or we can direct you to a nearby stand. Next season, our own cut and split wood will be seasoned and available on site. We ask that you carry out trash and recyclables. An established Western facing four point sacred Medicine Wheel site being established on Askari Ridge - our name for the slope starting with the two fire pits - 'Askari' being Swahili for night guard. Here is where we envision a great touch-point area for those leading groups to be for a base-camp by day or night, where eventually a multi-use tenting platform/performance stage will be constructed for outdoor entertainment, creating an authentic 'stadium style' seating on the hill. You will see on your way up to Salamander Hollow main clearing - the Kula Bata Tiny Kabin on the left of the dirt road- now available to rent with its small guest room for two, infrared sauna, hot shower, kitchenette, dishwasher and laundry.

This tiny cabin for two with its detoxifying infrared sauna, kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom/shower and WiFi has its own back-trail leading off property to New England Scenic Trail which has 'forest bathing' on the trails for miles. Ditch the camp suds, the term 'forest bathing' [shinrin-yoku in Japanese] simply refers to the healing power of trees and nature when walking in the woods. 'It just makes you feel good' - as HipCamp's description muses. YES, there is WiFi. YES, comfortably warm with heater seasonally in each room & wall mounted faux fireplace in the bedroom, with the InfraRed Sauna of course to get you extra toasty in Winter. In summer, there is A/C. Kitchenette with modern amenities,  including dishwasher & laundry. There's a blue tooth boom box so bring your favorite playlists and podcasts to stream, books to read, journal, art projects to manifest in solitude. Salamander Hollow is a private, evolving honeybee and human being sanctuary on 18 acres of land abutting Massachusetts State Forest, with currently a one room, wood stove warmed, cozy sleeping loft for one or two - with two benches below on either side of room - for two sleeping bags; plus, a separate 22 foot Sioux tipi with two cots. I had to find housing for a lot of actors for a TV shoot, and Salamander Hollow was awesome! Mary is extremely attentive and helpful, and goes out of her way to make sure people feel safe out in the woods and taken care of. I hear that they had a lot of fun out there. Also, Mary is awesome! Absolutely wonderful place to stay!!!!!! It was me, my older Mama and 4 medium to extra large dogs. We were very comfortable in the beehive cabin. Not that me and the dogs were inside much. It’s very clean, comfortable and secluded all off which I was looking for in a place to stay. Can’t recommend it more. We have already planned on coming back next year!!!!

The most amazing and magical place. The hosts are even more perfect. The cabin itself has running water with a shower and full functioning bathroom. It is also equipped with a washer and dryer which is super handy for a guy who spent lots of time camping in the woods. The sauna is so fun and unique. There is a full functioning kitchen and a propane grill outside. Also there is a fire pit outside!🔥 There are walking trails in the woods great for dogs. Love this place. ❤️❤️❤️

Mary is an amazing host! She is very responsive and informative not only about the property but surrounding area should you need anything. This was our second time visiting Salamander Hollow. This time we went with a group of friends. It was everything we hoped it would be for a getaway. We enjoyed yoga on the platform during the day and star gazing on it at night. We took advantage of as much of the property as we could, from hiking, to setting up disc golf baskets, and enjoying chatting by the fire. I think this is going to be a yearly trip for our group as we didn't want to leave when it was time to go home!

We had an amazing time on the "tiny" island. It was beautiful scenery of the changing fall colors. The cabin and porch tent felt very cozy and the interior had lots little items to make it a very rustic vibe. The host was very accommodating with changing our date for free due to rain and was always reachable via text promptly. She left dry towels on the canoes for us which was a nice touch. Price was extremely reasonable considering the uniqueness of the experience and the quality of everything on the island. Only "con" was that we had to leave after only 1 night due to our schedule. Jk 1000% would recommend to everyone and would definitely come back

This was our third time at this beautiful island and had an amazing time as always. The cabin is super cozy and we enjoyed fishing on the lake, grilling on the fire pit and eating outside on the covered porch! Can’t wait to go again!

This is our second time coming here and it's still the most miraculous, serene and peaceful place on planet earth. A tiny, eclectic, off grid, beautiful floating island in the middle of a large peaceful and grounding lake. Thoughtfully stocked with games, books, art supplies, kitchenware and has a back up supply of so many essentials, if you leave something at home. ♾️/10

Our island getaway was absolutely perfect! We loved lounging on the dock and brought floaties to enjoy the water. Other highlights included evening stargazing, a stunning misty morning sunrise, and playing backgammon on the porch during an afternoon rain shower. The cabin was so cozy and has everything you could need. The thoughtful hosts made sure we knew exactly what to expect and what to bring to make the most of our time there. We are already planning a return trip! Thank you so much for sharing this truly special spot!

Mary is a great host! This was my 2nd time camping on Tully Island with my dogs. Was able to do some swimming, canoeing, and cooking over the campfire. The cabin/shack is so cute and cozy-a great place to unplug, relax, and enjoy some outside time. Plus it's stocked with games if you catch some rain days. We'll be back next year!

What a fantastic site! It's a perfect setting for a large group to relax in comfort and in nature. There were 20+ of us for a long weekend and we LOVED the accommodations, the location, the beautiful surroundings. From a great pizza night using the wood-burning oven to a local swim and hike, there was absolutely everything we could have asked for. And Mary is a fantastic host -- friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the area. She made sure we had everything we needed and more! I would definitely come back, and highly recommend it!

Positively surpassed our expectations in every way imaginable. This was the highlight of our summer and possibly the coolest thing I've ever done with my son before. Safe, serene, thoughtfully designed, incredibly cool, such great and welcoming communication with the host, a friendly and healing environment. We spent the day just floating on the giant lake and exploring. Saw some cool birds, a baby snake and the coolest bug I've ever seen. 100% best spot ever!

This was a great little cabin to go with my two youngest children! We played outside all day around the fire pit and the yard exploring the property a little to look at statues. And then it when it was bedtime it was Wi-Fi on best of all worlds! The decor is so beautiful with all of the exposed wood and the art collection is immaculate and eclectic! You can tell Miss Mary has poured her heart into this place the infrared sauna was neat too! Not as intense as a traditional one, well at least not at the lower setting I use. We would recommend camping here if you don't have or want to get all the camping gear, there's a fully stocked kitchen I didn't need to bring tin foil! I didn't need to bring a long lighter! Everything was there along with the stove fridge and basic spices.

If you're in the mood for 'shack on an island in a New England pond', here it is! I very much enjoyed swimming, resting, going ashore for forest walks, and a nice campfire at night. Mary is a friendly and helpful host, and knows how to hold space for solitude.

Highly recommended. Private, sauna is a bonus, and the host was very accommodating. Did just 1 night stay and it was very easy and enjoyable.

If you can make hand tossed stone baked pizza and also build a fire . You’d be insane not to visit this camp !!!!!!!!!!

This is an incredible woodsy retreat! I was only able to stay one night but it was beyond what I'd hoped. All the small touches offered just what I needed to write and reset. I'll be back! Thank you Mary.
