We LOVED it! I’ve never seen so many stars! The farm tour was lots of fun and informative. Traveling by myself with two young kids, a dog, and a tent… would totally do it again!

My wife and I had a great time here, and our dog loved it! The only sounds we heard were farm animals and birds - it was very relaxing.
Clean, quiet campsite with lots of space and privacy - plenty of dead wood for a fire as well!

Great Stay in KY
Camp Kokovoko was everything I hoped for! Leslie was a very kind and attentive host when needed, but she otherwise respected my privacy. The land is beautiful; tucked into the rolling hills of Kentucky; and teeming with wildlife! Be wary of ticks, but there were NO mosquitos when I was there (late June). The nearby town has an excellent truck stop diner with friendly owners and amazing food. Overall, 10/10 would recommend and return!

Loved it!
We spent three nights at Camp Kokovoko and had the most relaxing time. With the exception of a couple of cars on the road (not visible from camp) we didn't see another person for 3 days. Talk about relaxing!! We were constantly being serenaded by Prairie Warblers, Towhees and Chipping Sparrows throughout the day and greeted each morning by the sounds of the rooster on the neighboring land. The amount of stars visible at night was amazing. And Leslie was the perfect host, always quick to answer any questions we might have. Camp was easy to find and reach. We really enjoyed exploring Leslie's land (especially the old bus and house/barns on the next site over). Everything about this visit was a delight, and we would definitely recommend this place to our friends. In fact, we already have.

Wonderful remote getaway campsite
Thanks so much to Leslie for the wonderful stay and hospitality! My kids and I had such a wonderful time. Thanks especially for giving so much time seeing the farm and the ponies (and donkey, sheep, horse, bull, chickens, peacocks... or should I say pea fowl ;-)
Thank you for your generous hospitality and spirit.
A note for travelers: it is fairly remote area and I didn’t have cell reception at the campsite. That was kind of nice to be able to unplug and be away from everything and everyone after a long week. But just know cell service I can be spotty, in case that’s an issue.

Great Experience!
Leslie is great! Wish we had more time to explore the area. Would have loved to work on the farm for a few week! Site was private, beautiful and safe. Get Ike we were worlds away! Take the farm tour, so great so see someone living and breathing their passion.

Respite From the Road
I had been on I 75 for nearly 6 hours in the rain, and heavy traffic. It was a challenging drive. Lesley’s directions to the site were spot on. I found a very private and peaceful place to set up camp for the night. The next morning broke with sunshine and abundant blue sky. I decided to meet Lesley’s critters on her farm tour. It was a great way to start the day! Lesley is a very warm and welcoming person. She’s a remarkable woman to be doing what she does. I know I will keep her on my list of go-to Hipcamp’s, and I feel I have a friend for life. We are kindred spirits!

We loved staying here! The sun setting over the hill with all the fall foliage was magical. Plenty of wood everywhere, and it was cozy in our spot in the hayfield under the trees. Leslie was awesome and checked in with us to make sure we got there okay. I loved exploring the old buildings on top the hill in the morning. Definitely recommend!

Private, secluded. Had a great time
Beautiful spot down in the hills of Kentucky. As private and secluded as you could want. Actually enjoyed harvesting and processing my own deadfall firewood for a change. Leslie was nice and accommodating. It was a great place for us self-sufficient campers. No complaints, had a great time. Recommended.

Simply Kentucky Paradise
The land is absolutely gorgeous, and Leslie is such a wonderful host! I highly recommend this camp. Campsite #1 was easily accessible in our sedans. Plenty of room to roam around and also plenty of space in between campsites. We partied, played laser tag in the woods, and had all kinds of fun. The breeding farm is amazingly beautiful, and the animals are very friendly. Especially the ponies! We had such a great time with the family, and will definitely be back. Such a cozy nice spot!

Take the Tour! Great Property!
It was our first overnight with our son and our first Hipcamp reservation and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Leslie was an incredibly friendly and gracious host. The property was serene. We were next to a gorgeous field with wildflowers, so we saw plenty of butterflies. The stream was great for exploring with our son. The site was easy to get to and we had plenty of trails and a variety of areas to explore. Leslie was very responsive to questions and making sure we were settled in.
As much as we enjoyed the property, the farm tour really made the trip special! Leslie shared her knowledge and beautiful farm freely. Her grandson was visiting and he was the perfect co-host. We loved meeting the peafowl, chickens, horse, donkey, and the ponies were so much fun! It was very cool to meet the herd. We are already planning our next trip!

Site 3 was a lovely spot next to a creek and surrounded by a field of wild flowers and on the edge of a wooded area. It was easy to get to the campsite with our sedan and Leslie’s detailed directions. The site is next to a road, but there was almost no traffic. There are several mowed paths to explore, both into the woods and in the field.
As others have said, Leslie is very friendly and checked on us shortly after we arrived. Animals could be heard, but not seen (except for her extremely friendly dogs).

Loved Site A with ponies!
Campsite A was secluded and lovely; woke up to morning mists and deer, and had a nice walk towards the back of the site into beautiful woods. The site is close enough to the farm to feel connected, but far enough that it's private (and you don't smell the animals!). Although there was plenty of firewood on site, by the evening a lot of it was damp, so you might want to bring some dry kindling or get an early start on the fire. And I highly recommend meeting Leslie and the ponies, it was a real treat and absolutely worth it!

Butterfly flowers & starry nights
Our campsite was what we expected for a DIY campsite. It was a simple mowed areas for walking, campfire in a ring, & tent. Our host was friendly, accommodating, and informative.
We were amazed by the beautiful flower filled field beside our site of Yellow Crownbeard & Ironweed. This field showed a healthy ecosystem filled with many varieties of butterflies, monarchs, and honey bees too.
We came prepared to saw and hack our own wood. The kids found it to be entertaining to be part of the process.
We also enjoyed walking on the mowed paths as well as making our way off the beaten trail.
At night we had a lovely view of the sky. Our first night was clear as forecasted and we had fun spotting constellations. The next night was partly cloudy with several shooting stars. It was very memorable.
Challenges:
Take note my t-mobile phone didn’t have service at the site but did when hiking at the top of the hill. However my husband had service from AT&T.
