Wild Camping Site 1
We brought our RV out to Chris' land for a night and ended up staying another. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the land a bit more. The property is stunning and it's seriously an oasis. You feel like you're really out in the wild because you can hardly see any other neighboring structures. The 360 degree views are magical and our 3 and 6 year old kiddos loved the freedom to roam and be adventurous on the land and surrounding environment. Chris is a man with many wonderful stories and a huge heart for conservation. He is generous and a great guy to hang out with. Would highly recommend using Dunes Desert Campground as your launchpoint for exploring the Great Sand Dunes National Park and the San Luis Valley. We are looking forward to coming back!

Awesome Trip to the Dunes
Excellent place to get off grid. Chris was super welcoming host making sure we had everything we needed. We brought our camper van and were pretty self contained but it was great to have access to clean bathrooms and hot shower. The views were epic and the stars were incredible. Close drive to the Sand Dunes National Park. We spent a week in solitude and it was awesome. No problem generating solar. Verizon works on 1 or 2 bars depending where you are but can also drop all together, so we ended up setting up our Starlink. Close drive to Alamosa for supplies or there is a gas station close by with pretty decent stock. Recommend driving down Lane 6 and turning on Rd 113. GPS will bring you down Lane 4 which is unpaved, Lane 6 is paved all the way. The tent sites are spread out and look to be really high quality and the safari tents looked really cool! There’s also a super awesome communal space with cooking and lounging. If you want an off grid spot with an excellent host and access to bathroom and showers I can’t recommend enough.

Desert Dome Tent 5
Camping made easy
Had a great time at desert dome, Chris our host was great, he met us at the entrance and gave us a tour of the camp ground! They provide clean restrooms and even a outdoor shower with great views of the great sand dunes National park. Definitely recommend the Desert Dome to camp at if you’re visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park or even to star gaze at night.

Large Desert Safari Tent
Safari at the Sand Dunes!
This is a stunning property with solitude and views for days. The host, Chris, is incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed - including building a fire for us to enjoy in the evening. 10/10 would recommend - don't pass up a chance to stay here!
