Deepdene Farmstay is a beautiful rural property with a fabulous view! We have a number of unpowered camp sites located approximately 5 minutes drive from Augusta, which offers a number of tourist attractions and great fishing spots. We are also located a short 800m from Jewel Cave, which is a very popular tourist attraction and café. Our campsites overlook paddocks of cows and horses, with a lovely breeze and a number of large trees to offer shade in the summer, while being protected from the harsh winds in winter. If you are pretty much self contained and would like to camp out away from the hustle and bustle, in a tranquil and peaceful setting...then this is for you. However, if you like life's luxuries, then this won't be your cup of tea. One of the reviews said nice but a bit wild, I think they must be used to caravan parks or something. We try our best to fit in with the environment, so we have a couple of compost toilets and solar showers (for private not public use, for more info on this, please enquire ) and compost and recycling bins to try and do our bit. Dogs are permitted but this is a working farm with livestock so uncontrolled dogs chasing wildlife or stock which cant be controlled will be dealt with as needed including euthanised. If its hard to control don't bring it please!

Creek Junction Creek Junction is a peaceful area by the creek line nestled in amongst the trees, where the gully running down the hill meets the creek. One of our three dams is hidden in amongst the tea tree bushes nearby. You can see the house from this campsite, but it is far enough away that privacy is not an issue. Please be aware, all of our dams are seasonal and will be very low in the summer months. We also recommend that you do not swim in them. Hidden Corner Hidden Corner is situated at the back corner of the property. It is the most isolated of the three campsites with views of the open paddock and across the valley in front of you and state forest behind. Camping under tall trees overlooking vineyards with only a few other well spaced sites made for a lovely place to stay and base ourselves for the Margaret River region. Great wine tasting offered to guests at 3:30 every afternoon and our dog was welcome. Very friendly staff. Also a great brewery next door with a short course golf driving range complete with barrels in a dam to aim for on the edge of the beer garden.

What a magic property - surrounded by State Forrest and only 15 minutes away from Donnybrook which has everything you’d need or forgotten to bring. We look for privacy for our Hipcamp getaways and this camp delivered. Our Border Collie ran off lead all weekend. Woke up to the sound of birds and a beautiful view. We definitely will be back - next time with our Mtn. bikes to explore the many tracks around Thank you Dawn allowing us to stay at your oasis in the bush.

Weekend Trip to Corymbia Farm

Beautiful outlook and peaceful. Fantastic sunset views. There’s ample room for campers to be well spaced out which was nice. In our case, we had a motorhome which required a bit of driving about to find a level site suitable to our liking. Perhaps some attention with a grader or tractor and bucket here and there along the designated parking area would make the campsite perfect for all comers.

Lovely quiet area with a nice view. Jewel cave and cafe within walking distance which is worth a visit. Lovely owners who run the place. Will visit again. Be aware of the March flies this time of year (December) 😅

Jarvis Estate produce excellent wine and offer campers a free tasting on arrival. I grabbed a bottle of white to enjoy back at my camp.

Fantastic spot very handy for the hustle and bustle of Margaret River and Cowaramup but quiet and peaceful. As well as tastings on site (and the wine is fantastic) it's only a short ride or walk to two other wineries and CBCO brewery and a easy drive to many more. The camping itself is peaceful and our hosts were extremely helpful in moving us with no fuss or drama at all when we found someone else incorrectly set up in our spot.

We absolutely loved our stay at Jarvis. The grounds were so well maintained and the sites are spaced well apart. We ended up extending our stay. It was perfect for the dogs, close to wineries and the complimentary tasting was awesome. One of the best rosè and fortified wines we have ever tasted. It was also really nice to mingle with other campers. Thank you Matt and the team for having us. 100% recommend and would be back!

Weekend Trip to Jarvis Estate Winery & Camping

Stayed at Jarvis winery this weekend in our new van. Beautiful place to stay and relax . Grest location as close to Margaret River . One down side , as you pitch up under the trees the solar panels aren’t as effective as you’d like so make sure you take an additional solar blanket to charge batteries. The host snd staff made us welcome and offered complimentary wine tasting in the afternoon. We will definitely rebook in the future .

4 nights at Fair Harvest Retreat Margaret River

Had an amazing stay! Jodie and her co-workers were very welcoming, helpful. Nothing was too much hassle for them. Directions, check in and instructions for our stay were easy. Highly recommend breakfast at their cafe along with their produce. The horses and dogs very friendly and liked to pay us a visit. Also a special mention to Meg. We will be back!

Where to go

Wine Country

The Margaret River wine region stretches south from Dunsborough and through Yallingup and Margaret River to Augusta. Campground options range from simple unpowered sites to fully equipped holiday parks with swimming pools, all within an hour’s drive from Dunsborough. You can even enjoy a local farmstay, pitch your tent overlooking the vineyards, or park your motorhome among olive groves.

South West Coast

Just north of town, the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse is the starting point of the 123-kilometre Cape to Cape Walk, which hugs the coastline all the way to Cape Leeuwin on the southern tip. You don’t have to hike to take in the highlights, which include swimming and surfing at the beaches, watching the sunset over Sugarloaf Rock, and Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, a popular spot to see Western Australia’s famous wildflowers.

Southern Forests and Valleys

Vast swathes of forests and woodlands blanket Australia’s southwest corner, where there are about 20 national parks and state forests to explore, many within a 2-hour drive from Dunsborough. Hikers can venture into the wilderness in the Greenbushes, Nannup, and Blackwood forests, where simple bush camping sites and bunkhouses welcome backpackers. Further south, Pemberton harbours popular sites such as the Yeagarup Sand Dunes and Beedelup Falls.

When to go

From September through May, the warm weather is tempered by coastal winds and ideal for hiking, camping, and outdoor activities near Dunsborough. The best scenery sprouts up in spring, when wildflowers blaze a colorful trail along the coast and whales can be seen out on the water. Winter weather is generally quite mild, although campers should be prepared for regular rain showers and for some campsite and caravan park closures.

Know before you go

Dunsborough has a number of grocery stores and camping gear shops, where you can stock up on supplies before heading out.
Having your own car is a big plus around Dunsborough, especially if you’re planning to explore the vineyards or visit the national parks.
Fire bans are common in Western Australia during summer and dry periods, so be sure to only use designated fire pits and check local recommendations before lighting your campfire.
