1 night at Tiradee Farm Stay

Such a lovely, quiet little spot, nestled in the trees on Rachel’s property. We were the only ones there, had a small fire going and enjoyed the beautiful clear skies and stars… till the rain came in 😂. Rachel was very responsive and welcoming. We had a chat when we checked in and she explained her farm set up, struggles of sheep farming and shared with us her intention for her hip camp, to show non-farming families what it’s like, and what it takes to bring food to your plate. I love this concept and wish we could have stayed longer to do a tour. Thank you Rachel for sharing a part of your home and life with us ❤️

Ahh, the serenity. We loved our site, tucked away, meeting the friendly inquisitive horses, watching from our window as the sheep tried to sneak by early in the morning and witnessing the kangaroos scoot away as we woke to a beautiful crisp morning.

A beautiful, rustic, secluded spot. This is a fantastic place for resting and relaxing for a couple of nights. Rachel and Tim were excellent hosts, siting us in the dark on the first night and making sure we had a great experience. Will definitely stop again if passing though this way.

An unforgettable experience—no phone signal, plenty of flies, but this is the authentic life of an Australian farm. It’s here that you truly feel the greatness of Australian farmers. If you can endure these small discomforts, you’ll be rewarded with unparalleled sunsets, breathtaking starry skies, and mornings greeted by herds of horses outside your window. Tiradee Farm Stay

We are a fully functioning grain and sheep farm and have so much to see and experience if you choose to. Either just drop in for the night and rest up before you continue on your journey. Or stop and stay for a day or two and enjoy the full farm lifestyle experience. We offer farm tours, including Devonshire Tea. Just request at time of your booking. Also guided or self guided bush walks, to view wildflowers or Malle Fowls. During August to the end of October is Wildflower season in our Bush Camp. We have quite a few varieties of Spider Orchids, Red Beaks, Cowslips and Donkey Orchids. You might even be able to find some hybrids. BUSH CAMP Our Bush Camp site has NO AMMENITIES so please only self-contained caravans and RVs. We own a pristine piece of the countryside and would love to share it with you, whilst keeping it that way. We appreciate your help with this, so please take all your rubbish and only leave your “footprints” behind. NATIONAL PARK We are 70kms to Point Ann where the Southern Wright and Humpback whales come to calf. The best time to see these beautiful animals up close is August to October. BREMER BAY The Bush Camp is 100kms from Bremer Bay, where BLUEBACK was filmed. Feel free to ask for directions and some great places to eat and the best beaches to go to. JERRAMUNGUP In need of supplies, we are a 20 min drive to our nearest town. There is an IGA, Roadhouse, Cafe and Fuel Station. Just ask for directions. Overview

It’s all about whale-watching in Bremer Bay. Hemmed in by beautiful beaches and dramatic coastal scenery, this south coast town is still best known for its underwater wonders. Orca, southern right, humpback, and sperm whales can all be spotted off the shores of Bremer Bay, while the deep-water Bremer Canyon is one of few places in the world to admire killer whales in their natural environment. Combine your whale-watching adventures with a coastal hike or road trip, then check into one of the holiday parks or caravan parks, enjoy beach camping along the coast, or escape the crowds at a tranquil Hipcamp.

Where to go

Fitzgerald River National Park

Bremer Bay is the gateway to Fitzgerald River National Park, renowned for having some of the best bushwalking, birdwatching, and botanical diversity along Australia's southwest coast. Follow scenic walking trails through magnificent valleys of wildflowers, go kayaking and snorkelling at white-sand beaches, and spot whales from the lookouts at Point Ann and Barren’s Beach. The national park campground has unpowered sites suitable for small motorhomes and caravans.

Stirling Range National Park

West of Bremer Bay, head into the rugged mountains of the Stirling Ranges to hike and camp away from the crowds. Campers have options both in and around the Stirling Range National Park, while the nearby Porongurup National Park is famous for its giant boulders, dramatic mountain lookouts, and scenic drives.

Rainbow Coast

Bremer Bay sits on the eastern edge of the Rainbow Coast, so-called for the frequent rainbows that brighten up its skies throughout winter. Albany and Denmark are the main towns, from where you’ll have access to a string of national parks. Spectacular views await at Torndirrup National Park and Walpole-Nornalup National Park, while West Cape Howe National Park and D’Entrecasteaux National Park have some of the region’s most scenic beach camping.

When to go

Timing is everything for a whale-watching tour in Bremer Bay. January through April is the time to spot killer whales and orcas at Bremer Canyon, while southern right whales can be spotted from July through November. Coastal wildflowers are most vibrant in summer, but species bloom year-round. There’s good news for snorkellers, too—Southern Ocean water temperatures sit between 17°C and 21°C year-round.
