There are two cabins and a yurt that share a unique dining/kitchen area paired with shared private toilet, outdoor shower and hot and cold bath under the stars for a very relaxing memorable time in nature should you not want to camp.
The cabins are converted shipping containers. Cabin 1 has a king bed, Cabin 2 has 2 double beds (bunk style) and a yurt (1 - 4 people). Shared facilities. Please do note the yurt does not have electricity however we supply portable flood lights to hang in trees and inside. Charging station in the toilet shed or kitchen. The yurt is approx 150 meters from the cabins. It has one super comfortable king and two single matresses. It's warm and so peaceful you will never want to leave. Mains water tap nearby.

There are two cabins and a yurt that share a unique dining/kitchen area paired with shared private toilet, outdoor shower and hot and cold bath under the stars for a very relaxing memorable time in nature should you not want to camp.
The cabins are converted shipping containers. Cabin 1 has a king bed, Cabin 2 has 2 double beds (bunk style) and a yurt (1 - 4 people). Shared facilities. Please do note the yurt does not have electricity however we supply portable flood lights to hang in trees and inside. Charging station in the toilet shed or kitchen. The yurt is approx 150 meters from the cabins. It has one super comfortable king and two single matresses. It's warm and so peaceful you will never want to leave. Mains water tap nearby.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sommerleigh! Gorgeous location that had everything we needed, nestled in nature and surrounded by so many birds. It felt intimate and private, perfect for a romantic weekend away. The wood stove was absolutely divine and rainy weather was no problem because it was so cosy rugged up indoors by the fire watching the rain through the big windows and hearing the rain on the tin roof.
Jeff was lovely and made sure we knew everything we needed to know before leaving us to it.
I highly recommend this special gem of a stay!

Jeff has spent an enormous amount of time and effort in creating this special place.
With 158 different bird species, set amongst the wetlands, there is a theatre of wildlife only 90 minutes from Melbourne.
The room is well appointed and many finer details often overlooked on your more tradition accommodation.
Everything you need is provided, just remember to read the notes before hand as we failed to do, ie bring ice for the provided esky.
It's combines the best attributes of a tiny house with plenty of space to cook, sleep, chill out and relax.

Weekend Trip to Sommerleigh
My partner and I adored our weekend in this little slice of paradise! Tucked away on a tiny island in the middle of a billabong on Jeff's vineyard, it was pure peace. We were the only ones on the island, aside from many different birds. We loved waking up to their songs, and the sound of rain on the tin roof. No traffic, no other people, just nature and a beautifully quirky bushland garden dotted with old treasures.
The setup was simple but magical, very clean and well maintained: two cosy tin shacks (bedroom and kitchen) plus a small loo shack with a flushing toilet! The bedroom was warm and snug with a fireplace and comfy double bed. BYO bedding.
No mains power or fridge, so bring ice for the cooler and a battery pack to charge devices, though we barely touched our phones. The outdoor showers (one next to the bedroom, and one behind the kitchen) were surprisingly lovely, even in the rain, thanks to hot gas-heated water.
Jeff was a friendly, funny, and accommodating host who welcomed us warmly even though we arrived a little late and in the dark.
Bring a torch, hot water bottle, and warm layers in winter. Notes on accessibility: You'll need to carry all your belongings from the car over a narrow pier and gravel path, a 1-2 minute walk total, which is very doable if you're able-bodied, and Jeff said he can offer a wheelbarrow to help.
A peaceful, grounding spot, perfect for bird watchers, nature lovers, and anyone wanting to truly switch off. We’ll definitely be back.

Really wonderful weekend escape. My partner and puppy and I enjoyed a farm stay here at Anne Maree's cute cabin. It had everything we needed and was easy to find, the farm grounds are huge and we couldn't even manage to walk the whole property! Friendly dogs on the farm that would visit us. The cabin it Esse was lovely and well presented, heating, comfy bed, kitchen with everything needed and am amazing bathroom with rain shower. The jacuzzi looked lovely but it was raining the entire stay, and it was not working anyway(the owner was extremely apologetic about this, and made up for it, by offering other alternatives and also made us home made scones, lamb shank soup and some other goodies, she didn't need to do this however Anne Maree was lovely and a proper host) this made us feel so comfortable and welcome and we already want to go back!! Hoping the rain is not there and the jacuzzi is fixed the next time we are there, Thankyou Ann Maree for a wonderful stay

Absolutely loved our stay! So quiet and secluded with abundant bird life. Sitting out on our little balcony at the sleeping shack we saw many birds we’d never seen before! Such a great set up and to have the whole island to yourself was magical. There’s 2 shacks, one the sleeping quarters and then a short walk is the other one being a kitchen. The toilet is then a short walk from the kitchen. Everything in the huts was so clean and what a luxury to have a flushing toilet and hot shower! Stay here and spoil yourselves and walk the 3 minutes to dine at Moonah restaurant. Just be sure to book in as it’s fine dining at the one of the best degustation restaurants you’ll find in Australia! Thanks Jeff for providing an exceptional little place where there’s so many little quirky and interesting things to see and do on this amazing property.

Had the most serendipitous weekend at Anne-mare’s campsite, it exceeded already very high expectations.
The creek is stunning, and so fun for swimming, paddling floating, jumping off the rocks and (attempted) fishing.
The landscape is so beautiful, plenty of space for camping and so much to explore.
We also booked the cabin which was beautiful and the jacuzzi looking out on to the fields was such a delight!!
Anne-maree met us at the gate and was super lovely and comprehensive showing us around and being available if we needed.

3 nights at Sommerleigh
We had the most beautiful time away. Everything was just perfect. Jeff was incredibly accommodating to our needs and so welcoming, very easy to talk to. There was a beautiful outdoor shower with lovely warm water and incredible views. The views and birds were just stunning, many different types of birds to look at. It was quiet and remote, with beautiful stars to stare at. Make sure you bring a portable charger if you want to charge your phone because there are no power points. The kitchen facility is perfect and has everything you need. 10/10 the best stay and we feel so recharged after being there. The quiet, disconnected retreat everyone needs.
