There is also a walking /riding track and board walk promenade that will follows the foreshore and finishes at the Break Water passing the Warrnambool Surf Club, Lake Pertobe and some terrific restaurants, Simons and The Pavilion to note, which is a great place for breakfast or lunch.
The CBD is only 5 minutes drive from the property great variety of restaurants, art galleries, gift shops, boutiques and speciality shops as well as supermarkets and other large chain stores such as, Woolworths, Coles, Audi, K-Mart and Target.
Set on 2 acres, Sea Mist was purchased as a subdivision in 1998. The garden and house were also designed then and given council approval the following year. The extensive gardens incorporate both design ideas that Edna Walling used, and Bill Mollison and David Holgren developed with their Permaculture principals. The gardens were established over a number of years to follow, aiming to be as sustainable as possible.
Although the property has town water connected, for most of the year it runs totally on tank water. The wastewater is recycled and used on many of the gardens.
We have organic orchard and vegetable gardens that use companion planting and successive crop rotation.
Guests are free to spend time in the garden and pick some fruit and herbs for a snack to use in cooking a meal. Please be respectful and leave plenty for others to share.

Situated on our 170-acre farm “Cambus Glen” near the settlement of Framlingham in South-West Victoria, the Shearers’ Cottage is a fully renovated sheep shearers accommodation. The Scottish name “Cambus Glen” means valley where a twisting river passes - this refers to our 3km of Hopkins River frontage – Scottish because the farm is home to our small fold (or herd) of Highland Cattle.
The space
The cottage is situated in its own private shady garden, overlooking the rolling green (in winter) and gold (in summer) pastures. Fitted out as a studio apartment, it has a queen-sized bed adjoining the living and dining areas. The fully equipped kitchen has a two-plate electric hob, a small fridge, a microwave, and small appliances with a gas BBQ outside on the porch. Tea coffee and some other pantry basics are provided. There is an air conditioner, a wood-burning stove, and plenty of blankets for those cold winter evenings.
Guests can make a supervised visit to see the cattle, with plenty of great photo opportunities. It is also possible to take a stroll along the river, where koala sightings are guaranteed, but wallabies and, occasionally, platypus can also be spotted.
For those wishing to explore the region – we are a 30-minute drive from the rugged South-West Victorian coast. Explore the Shipwreck coast between Port Fairy and Cape Otway – see the rock formations of the Port Campbell National Park and continue for another 30 minutes to Loch Ard Gorge and the 12 Apostles National Park. Visit Warrnambool, the picturesque Koroit, and Port Fairy, or enjoy one of the many walking tracks in the area or the Warrnambool to Port Fairy rail trail.

Aireys inlet is a unique tiny town with so much to do. The local beach is iconic for surfing and swimming, the local creek is a favourite at the inlet for young kids to swim or for canoeists to have somewhere quiet to paddle. If you have your own horse you can bring it along on holiday with you, we have paddocks available and there are so many gorgeous tracks around to ride on and beach riding at low tide and the right times is a bucket list item!
The location itself is 17 acres and is next to the Painkallac creek in a peaceful bush setting. This location used to be a horse riding school which is now not running but has been converted to offer camping, caravan and RV parking. It’s only 1.5 km from the beach and the Otway national park is right on your doorstep. If you have bikes, horses or love to hike or run, or just laze on the beach, it’s a perfect location, be ready to be spoilt as there are so many tracks on offer in our stunning local beach and bush land.
The local town of aireys inlet has plenty to offer, a general store for all your essentials, loads of places to eat out for breakfast, lunch or dinner and only 1 3/4hrs from Melbourne.
No need to stress if you don’t want to be near anyone else, this is a small setting so it’s very private and its only got one space to rent so that you have peace and quiet. If you do have friends and want to book a double space please just message me and I can open up another space for you.
I also have an option to add a pottery class for you, the cost is $50 a person for a two hour session.

Located on the edge of the lake, our gorgeous lake house can accommodate a caravan or motorhome on a designated parking pad. There’s also plenty of room to pitch a tent or swag on flat, grassy areas. A huge deck provides the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. The lake house includes a small kitchenette and a separate toilet and shower.
Bring a fishing rod to try your luck catching silver perch, or nets for yabbies — there are plenty!
There’s an abundance of birdlife, including cockatoos, rosellas, king parrots, kookaburras, and tawny frogmouths. Kangaroos and echidnas often pay us a visit, too.
A grassed area with a fire pit is situated a few metres from the lake house, and firewood is available for purchase.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead. A grassy dog enclosure is available for guests who wish to explore the area while leaving their pet in a safe space. If you would like to bring your pet, please add the pet fee which is listed as an Extra during the booking process.
A wood-fired pizza oven, located in a separate undercover area, is available for use.
Lovely bushwalks, motorbike, and horse tracks are located close to the property.
World-class surf breaks are within a half-hour drive, with Bells Beach being the most iconic.
Torquay is home to surf shops and eateries — Rip Curl, Billabong, Roxy, and Rojo are all within walking distance of each other. You’ll also find great local breweries such as Four Pines and Bells Beach Brewery.
Torquay and Anglesea both have vibrant arts scenes — the Ashmore Arts hub is located in Torquay, and Anglesea is home to the Arts Shed. The Eagles Nest Gallery in Aireys Inlet also hosts exhibitions by local artists.

Clear Springs is a very special spot, offering sweeping views over rolling hills, and across to the ocean. King Island lighthouse is visible on clear nights, and there are koalas and wallabies in abundance. Whilst we require you to BYO toilet, we do have hot shower, woodfired hot-tub, power, water and phone reception. The site is all-weather access, and is just a 7-minutes drive to the Apollo Bay township.
Once you catch your breath after initially taking in the sweeping, majestic ocean views, you can find a spot to pitch your tent or park your van. You drive in through a locked farm gate into the fenced camp area. There is not an abundance of flat area, so may not suit if you need large level space.
We don't accept multiple bookings, so the space is all yours. You can choose from a few different spots with near-level ground (choose grass or gravel). The site is open to the amazing ocean views to the south yet the area is nestled among mature trees to give privacy and shelter. There are very few houses dotted around the area and not a single busy road within earshot.
There is 240v mains power (BYO lead and plug into switchboard). And a tank with spring water (natural and untreated, we've been drinking it for years) and a pressure pump (BYO hoses as needed). There is an outdoor gas-heated shower. We also have a woodfired hot tub available for guests, BYO firewood.
Our listing is intended for people looking for a private, tranquil and well-serviced camping area with several bonuses such as power, water, telstra reception, and a hot tub (BYO firewood). And no other guests to worry about. It's much more than a patch of grass! But please BYO toilet - this is mandatory - and leave no trace to allow other people to enjoy the beauty of our property.

We rescue, rehabilitate and release wildlife and there are released kangaroos pottering around, so dogs are welcome but must be under control.

Green, tranquil and picturesque. Kangaroos, wallabies, kookaburras and koalas often emerge from the rainforest of the Great Otway National Park near the campsites. You can swim or kayak in the unfenced dam, which is fed by a mountain spring on our 200-acre property. But please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children, so we don't accept bookings that include children under 10 for public liability reasons.
We've limited the number of campsites to 2 in an area that could host 200! If you would like even more seclusion, then you are welcome to book both sites so you can talk, drink and play music as late as you like, without having to consider another group of campers. This is a totally different holiday experience to a crowded beach resort, caravan park or public camping ground. It's like a hideaway in the hills.
Each site has a flushing toilet (septic system).
Campfires are permitted outside the district-wide fire restrictions that apply from late November to early May. Fortunately, gas or electric barbecues and stoves are permitted all year round, unless specific days are declared as total fire ban days. Please note that wood-fired barbecues or burners, even if enclosed and fitted with a chimney, still present a spark/ember hazard so are not permitted across summer.
When campfires are permitted, guests can cut and gather their own wood from deadwood lying near the campsites or bring their own. Or you can buy sacks of cut and split firewood from your hosts on request. BYO newspaper and matches.
Camping trailers and campervans work better on the sites than large caravans or motorhomes, especially after heavy rain. The sites are on slight inclines, so levellers can be useful.
No pets please due to livestock in nearby paddocks.

This secluded property is special because it is situated in a remarkable position with the perks of both country and coastal living, not to mention unrivalled serenity... being 550m above sea level, snow isn't uncommon on the odd day during winter and surf is only 10 minutes away, so truly extraordinary. There are huge Trees approximately 200ft tall that tower over you in an area of the property we refer to as "valley of the kings" and some in excess of 300 years old. Witness small isolated gulleys (if the weather permits) and you're prepared for a little small hike into our wonderland. My family and I are situated in a modest farmhouse on the north side of the property, with our little camping spots for you scattered around the scenic high points. Collect the eggs or pat the donkeys, Meet the cows and guinea fowl, or enjoy a campfire (weather and Fire Danger period permitting). All our paddocks are treed, providing shelter to visitors and animals. We now have our gypsy van for the adventurous. Most importantly we know how important it is to provide adequate space between campers so you will not be crammed in - our promise to you.
Visitors are more than welcome to bring the kids bikes to ride around on. You may like to bring the kite or outdoor games, however we do not allow motor activities that may disturb the animals.
There is Barwon Park Mansion, owned by the National Trust nearby that you can take a peek through or enjoy the river walks in the town center, less than 2km away. Shops, including a supermarket, are in town if you forgot something. There are also some collectable shops you can visit.

The CBD is only 5 minutes drive from the property great variety of restaurants, art galleries, gift shops, boutiques and speciality shops as well as supermarkets and other large chain stores such as, Woolworths, Coles, Audi, K-Mart and Target.
Set on 2 acres, Sea Mist was purchased as a subdivision in 1998. The garden and house were also designed then and given council approval the following year. The extensive gardens incorporate both design ideas that Edna Walling used, and Bill Mollison and David Holgren developed with their Permaculture principals. The gardens were established over a number of years to follow, aiming to be as sustainable as possible.
Although the property has town water connected, for most of the year it runs totally on tank water. The wastewater is recycled and used on many of the gardens.
We have organic orchard and vegetable gardens that use companion planting and successive crop rotation.
Guests are free to spend time in the garden and pick some fruit and herbs for a snack to use in cooking a meal. Please be respectful and leave plenty for others to share.

The Scottish name “Cambus Glen” means valley where a twisting river passes - this refers to our 3km of Hopkins River frontage – Scottish because the farm is home to our small fold (or herd) of Highland Cattle.
The space
The cottage is situated in its own private shady garden, overlooking the rolling green (in winter) and gold (in summer) pastures. Fitted out as a studio apartment, it has a queen-sized bed adjoining the living and dining areas. The fully equipped kitchen has a two-plate electric hob, a small fridge, a microwave, and small appliances with a gas BBQ outside on the porch. Tea coffee and some other pantry basics are provided. There is an air conditioner, a wood-burning stove, and plenty of blankets for those cold winter evenings.
Guests can make a supervised visit to see the cattle, with plenty of great photo opportunities. It is also possible to take a stroll along the river, where koala sightings are guaranteed, but wallabies and, occasionally, platypus can also be spotted.
For those wishing to explore the region – we are a 30-minute drive from the rugged South-West Victorian coast. Explore the Shipwreck coast between Port Fairy and Cape Otway – see the rock formations of the Port Campbell National Park and continue for another 30 minutes to Loch Ard Gorge and the 12 Apostles National Park. Visit Warrnambool, the picturesque Koroit, and Port Fairy, or enjoy one of the many walking tracks in the area or the Warrnambool to Port Fairy rail trail.

This location used to be a horse riding school which is now not running but has been converted to offer camping, caravan and RV parking. If you have bikes, horses or love to hike or run, or just laze on the beach, it’s a perfect location, be ready to be spoilt as there are so many tracks on offer in our stunning local beach and bush land.
The local town of aireys inlet has plenty to offer, a general store for all your essentials, loads of places to eat out for breakfast, lunch or dinner and only 1 3/4hrs from Melbourne.
No need to stress if you don’t want to be near anyone else, this is a small setting so it’s very private and its only got one space to rent so that you have peace and quiet. If you do have friends and want to book a double space please just message me and I can open up another space for you.

Clear Springs is a very special spot, offering sweeping views over rolling hills, and across to the ocean. The site is all-weather access, and is just a 7-minutes drive to the Apollo Bay township.
Once you catch your breath after initially taking in the sweeping, majestic ocean views, you can find a spot to pitch your tent or park your van. You drive in through a locked farm gate into the fenced camp area. There is not an abundance of flat area, so may not suit if you need large level space.
We don't accept multiple bookings, so the space is all yours. You can choose from a few different spots with near-level ground (choose grass or gravel). The site is open to the amazing ocean views to the south yet the area is nestled among mature trees to give privacy and shelter. There are very few houses dotted around the area and not a single busy road within earshot.
There is 240v mains power (BYO lead and plug into switchboard). And a tank with spring water (natural and untreated, we've been drinking it for years) and a pressure pump (BYO hoses as needed). There is an outdoor gas-heated shower. We also have a woodfired hot tub available for guests, BYO firewood.
Our listing is intended for people looking for a private, tranquil and well-serviced camping area with several bonuses such as power, water, telstra reception, and a hot tub (BYO firewood). And no other guests to worry about. It's much more than a patch of grass! But please BYO toilet - this is mandatory - and leave no trace to allow other people to enjoy the beauty of our property.

Green, tranquil and picturesque. Kangaroos, wallabies, kookaburras and koalas often emerge from the rainforest of the Great Otway National Park near the campsites. You can swim or kayak in the unfenced dam, which is fed by a mountain spring on our 200-acre property. But please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children, so we don't accept bookings that include children under 10 for public liability reasons.
We've limited the number of campsites to 2 in an area that could host 200! If you would like even more seclusion, then you are welcome to book both sites so you can talk, drink and play music as late as you like, without having to consider another group of campers. This is a totally different holiday experience to a crowded beach resort, caravan park or public camping ground. It's like a hideaway in the hills.
Each site has a flushing toilet (septic system).
Campfires are permitted outside the district-wide fire restrictions that apply from late November to early May. Fortunately, gas or electric barbecues and stoves are permitted all year round, unless specific days are declared as total fire ban days. Please note that wood-fired barbecues or burners, even if enclosed and fitted with a chimney, still present a spark/ember hazard so are not permitted across summer.
When campfires are permitted, guests can cut and gather their own wood from deadwood lying near the campsites or bring their own. Or you can buy sacks of cut and split firewood from your hosts on request. BYO newspaper and matches.
Camping trailers and campervans work better on the sites than large caravans or motorhomes, especially after heavy rain. The sites are on slight inclines, so levellers can be useful.

Visitors are more than welcome to bring the kids bikes to ride around on. You may like to bring the kite or outdoor games, however we do not allow motor activities that may disturb the animals.
There is Barwon Park Mansion, owned by the National Trust nearby that you can take a peek through or enjoy the river walks in the town center, less than 2km away. Shops, including a supermarket, are in town if you forgot something. There are also some collectable shops you can visit.

Had an amazing two night stay with family. Victoria and her two pets Flocky and Mouse were amazing- our kids enjoyed a lot. Definitely recommend her place for her hospitality and comfortable stay. Our kids already miss their favourite pets, we may go back for a stay again.

This was such a charming little place to stop over, with well-kept facilities, hosted by the very friendly Victoria and her two adorable dogs. Our own pups loved the large expanse of walking and sniffing space around the property. It was a very interesting experience waking up to the sound of a thousand birds early in the morning, which ceased ever so quickly, almost as soon as they started, but it was otherwise was a quiet and restful place to put up a tent and tuck in for the night - or sit under her gazebo for a drink before :)

We loved our stay at Fiona’s land! The view of the ocean and rolling hills was incredible. The hot outdoor shower was soo nice and really appreciated after a hike in the nearby Otways national park. There is an abundance of birdlife as well so don’t forget to take your binoculars 🙂

We thoroughly enjoyed our camping experience in such a quiet and beautiful area. Euan was thoughtful, and communication throughout the journey was excellent.
We love animals and learning about farm life, and Euan gave us a fantastic farm tour, driving us around in the buggy. We learned about Belted Galloway cattle, goats, hay bale rolling, life in the farm, and heard Koala Kenny, and we also made friends with Maggie, the cutest dog!
We truly loved our stay and would absolutely come back to see Kenny again. Highly recommended for nature and animal lovers. The campsite is on a slope, but it’s very manageable. It’s my friend’s first camping experience, it’s really beautiful.

Euan's a fantastic host and has recently upgraded the sites to have access to modern outhouse style toilets. The sites are peaceful and has nearby Koalas and Kangaroos. Google Maps gets confused when directing you to the property, so don't accidentally end up at one of the nearby properties.

Unfortunately I need to “highly recommend this place” as I WILL be back and don’t really want others interfering lol. The host are amazing. Nothing was a problem. The site was excellent. Large clean and perfect. The facilities listed are great. Top things are (not in any order). Night sky, peacefulness, town/shops 6 mins away, facilities, lake access. Personal favourite was sitting at the end of the pier looking up at the stars late at night then going to sit by the fire.
Only issue I would say is the gravel road around 500m you need to go down to the lake side. Has a semi sharpe inclined coming out which I wasn’t sure of if our 2wd could pull the small caravan out but the hosts come down and pulled it out with the proper vehicle. This is why they get 10/10. Lovely people and lovely site.

Absolutely pristine property with amazing views and EVERYthing you could possibly need from BBQs to gas stoves, campfires with wood provided, to THE best outdoor indoor camp shower I have ever experienced. It’s rustic, but it’s glamping - so get ready to enjoy the best the Great Ocean Rd has to offer.
PS - Doug the host couldn’t not have been more accommodating or helpful..

My family and I loved our stay here. We were fortunate enough to have our own little outdoor hut with a camp fire. It was great at night allowing us to spend some quality time with the kids and stay warm. Beautiful surroundings, nice and green and well kept property. Definately recommend!

Such a relaxing spot to set up camp the night. Boys enjoyed feeding the highland cows. They went swimming in the dam in the kayak provided and even caught a yabbie with the nets hanging from the end of the dock. Side was big enough for us.

Where to go
Torquay
Surfers won’t want to skip Torquay: Next to Bells Beach, it’s famed for its big swells and hosts the world's best surfers at the annual Rip Curl Pro around Easter. Those who prefer to stay on dry land can embark upon the 44-kilometre Surf Coast Walk to Airey’s Inlet. A little farther south, Lorne has inviting white-sand beaches and a relaxed atmosphere, making it a great place to see migrating whales between May and September. Around town, expect to find centrally located powered sites with access to swimming pools, camp kitchens, and laundry. Just south of Lorne, Cumberland River Reserve is set in lush surroundings and has unpowered sites with access to hot showers, laundry, and barbecues.
Apollo Bay
At the foothills of the Otways, the little town of Apollo Bay is a great place to base yourself for walks into the hinterland and around Great Otway National Park, as well as for exploring the 104-kilometre-long Great Ocean Walk, which starts in Apollo Bay and ends at Gibson Steps near the Twelve Apostles. This is also a good spot for wildlife spotting: Look out for platypus and koalas at Lake Elizabeth near campgrounds with powered and unpowered sites with access to laundry, camp kitchen, and barbecues. Just outside Apollo Bay are additional holiday parks, while the more adventurous can find basic hike-in campsites along the Great Ocean Walk, including Johanna’s Beach Campgrounds, tucked behind sand dunes near a popular surfing beach.
Twelve Apostles
The Great Ocean Road’s star attraction, the seven rocky stacks of the Twelve Apostles jut out from the ocean and can be seen from a network of viewing platforms around the clifftops. Visit around sunset and you might also spot penguins come into shore after a day’s fishing. The closest campsite to the Twelve Apostles, Princetown Recreation Reserve and Camping offers powered and unpowered sites with access to hot showers, laundry, and a barbecue area. Twenty minutes east, Port Campbell Recreation Reserve is set in a natural reserve with powered and unpowered sites, plus access to hot showers, laundry, barbecues, and free wifi.
Warrnambool
At the end of the Great Ocean Road, the city of Warrnambool is famed for its whales, best seen from Logans Beach between June and October. You can also dive into the lively arts scene, discover the history of the Shipwreck Coast at Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village, and admire the historic lighthouses, whitewashed cottages, and maritime charm of nearby Port Fairy. Powered and unpowered sites with access to the camp kitchen, barbecue, laundry, and shower are available at holiday parks on Warrnambool’s foreshore, while nearby family- and pet-friendly Hipcamp sites typically offer powered sites, some ensuite.
