SIBA Retreat Centre

SIBA Retreat Centre is a beautiful and friendly Buddhist retreat centre in the Snowy River country of East Gippsland, Victoria. Formerly ONTOS, it was founded by Lama Choedak Rinpoche and formally opened and consecrated by His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche in 2006. During this time His Eminence gave the centre the dharma name 'Tsarchen Choeling'.

SIBA has all the conditions for the perfect retreat. Simply being at SIBA calms the senses and heals the mind. SIBA is a welcoming and peaceful refuge and its unique atmosphere is well known to visitors.

RiverOak Camping Heyfield - Gippsland Victoria

RiverOak is located on the bank of the Thomson River in Heyfield, Gippsland. RiverOak is an exclusive group camping ground. This means we only book to one group at a time and you will have the whole place to yourselves.

We can accommodate up to 40 overnight guests in total and can fit 8 caravans at once. You book and pay for the site regardless of your groups size (max 40). We have river frontage suitable for swimming and fishing, two toilets, two hot water showers, campfire pits, play equipment for kids, walk to town, tree swing.

The property has a beautiful big oak tree that will make you feel like you're somewhere magical. We are less than 1 kilometre to town. Fish in the river, relax under the tree, end your day with a nice hot shower and enjoy time with your family and friends.

You also get phone reception. If you wish to bring a dog please let us know and we can discuss. You will love your stay here. Please note there is a 3 night min stay on long weekend. Thanks.

River's Edge Retreat

We're located just 8 mins inland from Lakes Entrance, near Lake Tyers. Our campsites offer secluded lush lawns surrounded by trees on the edge of the river.

The immediate vicinity offers bush walking, canoeing/kayaking and fishing. For those keen on adventures further afield there is a boat ramp 8 mins drive away, the nearest beach is a 10 min drive away, and the township of Lakes Entrance is just 8 mins drive too.

Plenty of water sports options, hospitality venues including waterfront cafes, and scenic spots to visit in the area.

There are no amenities so please ensure you are fully self-sufficient. The campsite has a tap with drinking water (BYO hose), and dogs on leashes are welcome.

Being on the river's edge, the property has a gradient toward the river, so ensure you are equipped with levelling ramps for caravans / camper trailers.

Lakes Entrance is a coastal town in eastern Victoria. It's known for the Gippsland Lakes, a vast system of inland waterways. There is a pedestrian bridge to Ninety Mile Beach, which stretches along the town's Tasman Sea shoreline.

Wildlife around the beach and lakes includes kangaroos, pelicans and dolphins so bring your camera!

Grandview Sanctuary

Grandview is located on 8 acres in the township of Buchan. The campsites have beautiful mountain views and the property is close to the Buchan River.

The property is a great place to base yourself, within walking distance to the Buchan Caves Hotel, Roadhouse, General Store and the world acclaimed Buchan Caves. Take a 1/2 day or full day trip into the mountains and see the mighty Snowy River and Little River Gorge. Buchan is also a 45 minute drive to the ocean and the 90 mile beach.

Grandview is one of the original homesteads of Buchan, which we are in the process of lovingly restoring. 

We have the belief that this place is to be shared. We love where we live and this is our way of sharing the beauty of the Buchan and surrounding valleys.

Farmland, Wetland, River and Lake

Camp with green pasture views and within walking distance to the Tambo River.

You can walk to the River and Lakes. The East Gippsland Rail Trail is a short drive or ride away, where you can cycle through 96 kilometres of beautiful changing landscape. 

Explore the lakes by water - kayaks, SUP boards, boats can be launched at Tambo Bay or Metung boat ramps. You are welcome to use either of the two dog enclosures to keep your precious companion safe, warm and dry. (Well behaved / trained dogs are welcome).

We are situated within five kilometres of the beautiful little Metung village, and half way between the regional centres of Lakes Entrance and Bairnsdale. 

Boat lovers and summer waterskiers are drawn to Metung's relaxed village lifestyle. Explore the gentle waters of the Gippsland Lakes. Anglers descend all year round to make the most of Metung’s excellent fishing spots. You can catch bream, tailor, flathead, King George whiting and prawns during the summer months.

Dine out on fresh seafood and local wines at eateries across town. Choose from an excellent variety of waterfront restaurants and cafes, or find a sunny spot opposite the village green to enjoy a picnic. The kids will enjoy watching the pelicans eat their lunch outside the Metung Pub everyday at midday.

Mt Alfred Camping and Horse Riding

The farm backs onto the Mt Alfred State Forest and is close to the beautiful Mitchell River National park. Mt Alfred is a fantastic forest with many great tracks to explore on horse back, mountain bike or on foot. Horses and dogs are welcome.

There is plenty of space on a large, grassy flat area for camping and parking. 

There are paddocks for horses and a guide is available. 

The farm and surrounding bush is an Owl habitat and the property has an amazing abundance of bird life. 

It is just 25 minutes from Bairnsdale and the Gippsland lakes where you can explore the beautiful beaches and walking tracks. 

There are shops available for basic supplies within 10 minutes. 

We have a fire pit for you to light a campfire.

There is a drop toilet and shower. 

Please take all rubbish with you on departure.
