It's the perfect place to kick back and relax, enjoy the views, the abundant wildlife and refreshing swims in the lakes on the property. If you feel like going for a wander, you can spend hours exploring the bush and native grasslands on the property and if you're keen on climbing the hill you get rewarded with amazing views over the Great Western Tiers. Why not take your mountain bike up there and enjoy the downhill ride afterwards? Sunsets are spectacular at Stringybark and the skies phenomenal during clear nights. Although it feels like the end of the world, surrounded by bush and wildlife, we're only 30 minutes drive from Launceston CBD, Ben Lomond National Park and Josef Chromy's winery and only a 20 minute drive from Launceston Airport, making it a perfect base to explore Launceston and surrounds. You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in. We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out. Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp. Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though). Please ALWAYS supervise children and pets, particularly in the following areas: -bush and grass areas where snakes can be present most of the year -around the shed where we store farm materials -around our lakes which are not fenced in We're so excited to be sharing our piece of paradise with campers from near and far and from all walks of life :)

This is unserviced, self-contained camping suitable for tents, campervans and small off-grid RVs. Stays of up to 29 nights per booking are welcome. There are several open areas among the trees where you can set up. The property has walking tracks, forest clearings and a seasonal dam. Our cosy private tiny house/shack. It is close to beaches and a lagoon. The Bay of Fires is 40min north and Wineglass Bay/Freycinet National Park 1hr south. Relax night and day in a fire pit lounge area crafted with dry stone (large soft cushions included) plus an outdoor fire bath. A small separate shed houses a flushing toilet and gas hot water shower. The block has mains power; solar power and tank water. The block is surrounded by local endemic shrubs, trees and ground covers. We provide firewood, linen for the comfortable double bed, condiments for the fully equipped kitchen that includes crockery, cutlery, a fridge, a gas cooker, air fryer, sandwich toaster, camp oven, water etc. Just bring your clothes and food. The block is in a quiet coastal hamlet (with gravel roads and no street lights) ideal for beach and lagoon activities (surfing, walking, paddling, bird watching). Our 2 person sit on kayak is at the tidal lagoon 5 min walk away. We have crafted this space over a number of years for personal use and now would like others to experience it. Stargazing from the fire bath is a must do feature especially in winter. Dog/pet friendly.

We had the BEST time during our stay at Mike and Sheena’s boho retreat. It was cozy and comfortable with everything we needed for us to feel at home away from home. The area itself is exactly what we were hoping for: quiet and secluded with a beautiful beach that went on for miles without seeing another soul, but still only a fifteen minute drive from St Marys for any supplies needed. What made it even more special was being able to bring our fur babies along with us. We have two very happy (and tired!) doggies from a weekend full of beach days. We would love to stay here again one day, and have already recommended it to many of our friends.

The Bohemian Beach retreat was just the cosiest place! We absolutely loved our time here - you can tell a lot of love has gone into this place over the years and it feels like home. The outdoor fire pit and bath were highlights. Note the toilet and shower are an outhouse and if its poor weather it can be a wet trip there and back. In saying that - not a negative for us.

We had such a beautiful weekend staying at Mike and Sheena’s Boho beach retreat, it felt peaceful and welcoming. We loved that our dogs could come along with us — it made the weekend feel even more special having them there. The space itself was perfect — simple, cosy, and had everything we needed. It was so nice to switch off, unwind, and enjoy the quiet by the beach. The fire bath was such a highlight — sitting in the warm bath in the rain was pure bliss. We left feeling relaxed, reconnected, and already talking about when we can come back.

Weekend Trip to Pockets Farm

Arrived and greeted by a lovely bunch of hens and then followed by Shyla the gorgeous pony. It is a peaceful spot by the dam. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and friends on site 1. It is so pleasant listening to the frogs birds and ducks, kayaking on the dam and soaking in the nature. Walked around property went to the brewery and vineyards and had a marvellous long weekend. Rosie our host was excellent to communicate with and she left us alone it is all very private. Firewood supplied and bbq but we had our own so didn’t use. Highly recommend Pocket Farms. only down side and it is very very minor is the noise of the road on our site during the day it does settle overnight. My friends on site 1 didn’t really notice it. Again it wouldn’t deter me from returning again. Be careful if it has rained a lot because it could be quite muddy getting to your site. Thank you Rosie. 😄

Weekend Trip to Bohemian Beach Retreat Tiny House

We really loved staying at Michael and Sheena's place. We were looking for a place to have a cosy weekend away with a fire bath and fire pit. On arrival everything was set up for us, fire in the pit and under the bath. All we had to do was fill up the water and light the fires. It was a lovely romantic getaway. Falmouth is a lovely destination with long sand beach, lagoon and rocky boldery Shaw line to explore rock pools. The accommodation had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable and warm. The place was nestled in between to house but we had plenty of privacy. We could watch the stars, listen to frogs in the evening and drids during the day. As a bonus, Michael and Sheena had a cd player and plenty of cds to listen to which were right up our alley. Lived our time here, Michael was a great communicator and checked in with us.

We were the only ones camping at the time and enjoyed some local wines and cheese by the damn with our 2 collies. We loved it!! So private, and Falmouth is an absolute treasure of a spot. Hosts were absolutely lovely - generous, thoughtful, communication was clear and concise. 'Boho' was clean, warm and so well thought out. The extra little things like the fire being set, and then covered with plastic (it was raining when we arrived), so the wood was not wet and easy to light that set our hosts apart. Thankyou so much Mike and Sheena for sharing with us.

Very peaceful stay. Great location to what the area has to offer. Directions were clear. Short drive to town centre which is ideal for supplies. Plenty of firewood. Camp spots spaced out well and was private. Hosts were there and left us to our thing but was easily contactable and very quick to reply.

Weekend Trip to Stringybark Bush Camp

Our stay at the Valley was peaceful and quiet, in a pretty spot between two dams. Some curious sheep wandered past, but kept their distance. The water in the dams was very clear and would be a great spot to swim in summer. Levelling ramps were useful, but there are plenty of rocks around if needed. Access was not a problem in our 2 wheel drive and pod trailer.

Almost didn't want to write this review as this place is too good and I'd rather keep it a secret! But in the spirit of fairness (and because the host absolutely deserves the praise), here it is: the land is stunning, the campsites are spacious and well thought-out, and I found Hamish to be super helpful, friendly, and laidback in the best way. One of those rare spots you stumble on and immediately want to return to, which is exactly what we did by extending our stay an extra night. Will definitely be back (if it's not completely booked out by that point!).
