Discover Leven River Camping at Wattle Farm, a tranquil retreat nestled on the edge of the wilderness, where the river and forest greet you at your front door. This naturally forested 100-acre property is a haven for abundant native wildlife, offering an idyllic escape into nature.
When you book, you'll secure a site within one of our designated camping areas, with the freedom to choose your exact setup spot upon arrival. We offer two main areas: "The Big Paddock" (left of the road) and "The Little Paddock" (right of the road).
The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river.
For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket.
Natural Surroundings & Activities:
Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic.
Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley.
Important Information
No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal.

The water is pumped from a springfed dam and mostly gravity-ed.
It's a little like McDonald's Farm, an array of birds and animals.
There's an orchard, hothouse and a Raspberry patch which may be my favourite spot when they're fruiting.
It really is an amazing lifestyle, peaceful, relaxing and rewarding.

We had a lovely night at Tiana's shared with the cows and Alpacas. The sunset was spectacular. Sites 1-6 are gravelled and it was easy to back our 7.7m motorhome in and get a level spot. Site 6 has a little fire area with a wind break. Nice! The other sites are larger and on the other side of the hill, so I guess it deoends which way the wind is blowing which is the more sheltered side. Definately recommend this place.

Another site I hate giving good reviews to, because I don't want too many people knowing about it. We stayed in Little Paddock and as far at the site goes, it's beautiful. Nice and flat, plenty of space, a great river to cool off in. It's at the end of a dead end road, so only locals go past. It's a shame the weather didn't play the game considering its summer, but we'll be back.

Fabulous place, quiet & peaceful. Bert was friendly & helpful. We got to see the platypus. Shady trees that our 2 dogs could lay under.

This campsite had a fabulous view in all directions. We looked over the valley with mountains in the background and a beautiful sunset behind them. Behind us was a mini forest followed by gorgeous lavender fields in bloom—really picturesque. We were perched up high and it was very quiet, with the closest caravan neighbours a decent distance away for privacy. Great location for getting to Bridport, and such a good price—couldn’t believe how cheap it was!

Tiana’s place was perfect to explore all the surrounds. We day tripped to Derby one day and Bridport the next. Loved waking up to the beautiful views of the mountains. Incredible sunsets. Would definitely come back to stay here if we are in North East Tassie again. Beautiful place and beautiful owners.

Only one river access point, which could be blocked if someone set up there, so keep in mind

Beautiful peaceful spot. Loved the sounds of the birds and watching the platypus and wallabies feeding at dusk from the hot tub was magical. Bert was a great host, thank you!

Really enjoyed our stay. We were placed in a smaller private grassed section of the property which we had to ourselves and was relatively sheltered from the wind. Further away from the horses but hosts happy for us to wander down to them. Beautiful horses. We had a 15ft full height caravan - wouldn’t want anything bigger than this to navigate the entry to the paddock we were in. Host has different areas for different set ups. Jamie sold us a bag of wood for $10 so we enjoyed a campfire. Fresh water tap available at the main shed. Location is within easy driving distance from all the north west sites of Tasmania.
