The closest dump point is a 9-minute drive to the “Town of Topiary” Railton, where you will find two charming coffee shops, a hotel, post office, a petrol station with a convenience store, a mechanic, a craft brewery and a takeaway shop. Railton boasts the delightful Goliath Park, with multiple recreational activities available including a tennis court, a pump track, skate park, covered barbeque and picnic area and playground. It's the perfect place to kick back and relax, enjoy the views, the abundant wildlife and refreshing swims in the lakes on the property. If you feel like going for a wander, you can spend hours exploring the bush and native grasslands on the property and if you're keen on climbing the hill you get rewarded with amazing views over the Great Western Tiers. Why not take your mountain bike up there and enjoy the downhill ride afterwards? Sunsets are spectacular at Stringybark and the skies phenomenal during clear nights. Although it feels like the end of the world, surrounded by bush and wildlife, we're only 30 minutes drive from Launceston CBD, Ben Lomond National Park and Josef Chromy's winery and only a 20 minute drive from Launceston Airport, making it a perfect base to explore Launceston and surrounds. You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in. We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out. Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp. Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though). Please ALWAYS supervise children and pets, particularly in the following areas: -bush and grass areas where snakes can be present most of the year -around the shed where we store farm materials -around our lakes which are not fenced in We're so excited to be sharing our piece of paradise with campers from near and far and from all walks of life :)

Valley Views provide breathtaking views of the Mersey Valley and its arable agricultural pastures. Travellers will need to be fully self-contained and of course ‘leave no trace’. The camp areas are located at the entrance to the property with ample room to pitch your tent or manoeuver your RV. There are two communal fire pots on site, wood is on hand via a donation honesty box. There are wonderful fishing, swimming and kayaking options at both Merseylea and Kimberley less than 10 minutes’ drive away. You'll find many opportunities for hiking, with trails suitable for all ages and abilities. The closest dump point is a 9-minute drive to the “Town of Topiary” Railton, where you will find two charming coffee shops, a hotel, post office, a petrol station with a convenience store, a mechanic, a craft brewery and a takeaway shop. Railton boasts the delightful Goliath Park, with multiple recreational activities available including a tennis court, a pump track, skate park, covered barbeque and picnic area and playground. It’s also where you’ll find a trail head for the World Class Wild Mersey Mountain Bike Network, complete with toilets and wash down bays. Every Saturday morning, an idyllic bush setting hosts the Railton Park Run. Ten minutes up the road you’ll find Sheffield, the Town of Murals and further south, Cradle Mountain. This is a working farm, we have working dogs and sheep, so four-legged friends must remain on leash. Located 34 km south west of Launceston, Cressy is a small, attractive, and historically significant town which came into existence in the 1850s to service the surrounding wheat farms.
