We loved our stay at Toby’s Hipcamp as we’ve visited that area many times staying at Burra Creek Gorge at Worlds End etc. But to have such spacious rolling hills interesting farmland to ourselves we felt privileged and didn’t leave Ruff Run for the whole time. The simple things like walking up the escarpment to magnificent views sitting by a great fire pit with dry wood supplied and enjoying the cacophony of birds at times. It was pure magic and great for the soul to get away from hectic living. Thanks Toby. You couldn’t be more helpful. Cheers

Wonderful weekend away on a very relaxing and peaceful property. The only sound we could hear were sheep and birds chirping. The site is relatively flat making setup a breeze. The firepit supplied was also great, definitely would love to return as it's an easy drive with our van.

We had a beautiful drive to the camp checking the historic buildings and canola fields on the way. We arrived to a great spot - open paddocks gave a sense of space. Rocky outcrops in the area had a Flinders Ranges feel and made for some nice hiking up the hill to see the views. Highly recommend this for those looking for a getaway without having to drive far.

We camped during the first week of August and were lucky to have the entire site to ourselves. The weather was perfect—sunny days with no wind—and the surrounding green paddocks were absolutely beautiful. Each campsite came with its own fire pit, and the area offered lovely walks. We also met Rob and Jo, who were incredibly warm and welcoming. It was a peaceful getaway, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet escape. Ps the Palmerston pub had lovely meals to.

Potential for vineyard and with an airfield close by and a quality dirt road running along the Western boundary and a surveyed road along the northern boundary this site makes for easy walking and is within short distances to some of the best cellar doors in the Barossa. Kaiser Stuhl National Park is only a short drive away over the lookout at Mengler’s Hill and the Heyson Trail runs through the hill at the Eastern end. Permission may be needed to access other private properties adjoining, however. Wineries close by include Jacob’s Creek Visitors Centre, Rockfords, Grant Burge Cellar Door, St Hugo’s, Charles Melton, Moorooroo Cellar Door or Jacob’s Creek Retreat. Tanunda is only a 5-10 min drive away where a great range of food outlets and a wider range of cellar doors exist. The helpful staff at the Visitor’s Centre in Murray St can assist with answering questions and most services are catered for in the town’s centre. This site’s location lends itself to quite short or long term stays with close access to the fruits of the Barrosa. There are recharge and excellent public facilities at the Visitor Centre and links to Barossa Balloon Adventures if desired. Tanunda is only a 5-10 min drive away where a great range of food outlets and a wider range of cellar doors exist. The helpful staff at the Visitor’s Centre in Murray St can assist with answering questions and most services are catered for in the town’s centre. This site’s location lends itself to quite short or long term stays with close access to the fruits of the Barrosa. There are recharge and excellent public facilities at the Visitor Centre and links to Barossa Balloon Adventures if desired. There are no facilities, so campers must be 100% self-contained, taking all waste and rubbish with them when they leave.

We run a sheep and cropping farm which creates beautiful camping grounds at the foot of the hills, just below the Heysen Trail. The campsites are located on the pasture paddocks of the farm with sheep roaming the area, so dogs on leashes at all times, and please pick up after them. With large distances between other campers, each site can cater for large groups, with no close neighbours. The sites are at least 2km away from busy roads, so absolute peace and privacy! There's a beautiful push bike ride from Riverton to Clare Valley and all the wineries are along the way. Plenty of room at the property for kids to ride their push bikes. Fantastic sunsets and sunrises from all sites, and at its best at the SUNSET BAA. Beautiful bird noises, including the kookaburras having a laugh. We are a Poll Merino sheep stud and a wheat/barley cropping farm at Emu Downs in the Mid North of SA. We have resurrected this character old workers quarters which we've turned into a rustic, peaceful abode for you to enjoy. Sleeps four (double bed, single bed and old miners couch,). Bring your own bedding. There is a flushing external toilet and a bush shower (ie: a shower bag, provided). The room with the open fire can be utilised as a kitchen/living area. We've provided crockery, cutlery, glasses, kettles and a camp oven. There is running cold rainwater into the sink. Cooking can be done on the open fire, or use the small camp gas cookers. There is also a gas BBQ in the outdoor room. If you are really brave, try your hand at camp oven cooking in the campfire. There is no power, only lighting provided from a small solar panel/battery. Extra guests welcome in tents, swags or vans adjacent to the cottage.
