Spear Creek is more than just another Holiday Park.
Set immediately adjacent to the Western slopes of the Flinders Ranges in the middle of a 21,000 acre working sheep station providing privacy, security and an experience like no other.
Spear Creek is located 25 kilometres south-east of Port Augusta, only 12km off Highway 1. Our eastern boundary follows the summit of the ranges north from Horrocks Pass, with walking trails through deep gorges to range top views of upper Spencer Gulf. The Holiday park is nestled amongst 600 year old river red gums adjacent to the ranges.
You may meet any of the three different species of kangaroos, echidnas, or 85 species of birds including wedge-tail eagles and peregrine falcons who call Spear Creek home.
The owner operators of this tourism business are fourth generation, whose families have been farmers and graziers on this land for over 130 years.

lovely place to get away from it all. It’s a great spot for exploring the nearby local attractions, and the surroundings are beautiful. The views and also Alligator Gorge and the lookouts are stunning. Highly recommended for the friendly service and the easy, relaxed experience.

The van sites are amongst the outbuildings on a working sheep farm. The farm is beautifully sited in a tree filled valley nestling in the Flinders foothills . The hosts Nikki and Dallas are very friendly and helpful, they showed us a walk to a lookout from where you get far reaching panoramic views of the hills and the coast. There is a toilet, hot showers and sockets in the wash rooms where you can charge devices, otherwise you need to be self contained.

Great area, nice view of flinders ranges. Felt really private considering it’s a holiday park which is really good, not much crowding at all. Found a nice shady spot on a sunny day. People there are really nice, easy to talk to and are very helpful. Highly recommend as I would stay there again.

My partner and I are doing the big drive from QLD to WA and this was by far one of our favourite spots. The most lovely welcoming owners, insane views, beautiful and spacious sites, and great food available at reception. Access to great 4WD tracks was also cool to see. We only had the pleasure of staying one night, we would love to go back for a few days to explore the area better. Make sure you buy some of the award winning fresh meat and eggs too!

We stayed here for a few days just before Xmas, we found it to be very easy to locate. Camp managers were great to deal with. The camp ground set in a stunning setting. Very quite, gum trees all around, just beautiful for a few days of relaxing. The facilities were great. Clean toilets great laundry. Didn't use the showers but they were also well cared for when we had a look. We will be back. Thank you spear Creek camp

Lovely spot among the gumtrees along the dry creek at the foot of the hills. Gorgeous.
Camp hosts super helpful. Fresh farm lamb for sale which we cooked that night in the camp kitchen.

Very quiet. I think I was the only one there.
Poured with rain all night, thunder & lightning and thick fog. So it was like a scene from a scary movie. However, this didn't detract from the serenity and beauty of the surrounds. The birds were singing in the morning. It was just as I expected. I'd go again if I was in the area.

We enjoyed a great stay at Heggies Hill bush camp. Lovely big campsite, terrific toilets and serene surroundings. It was easy to get to and easy to arrange a booking. It is a great spot to stay and explore a range of places and activities in the mid north.

Good stopping off point for the Flinders Ranges. We were there at the end of the spring season when it was quiet and empty and weather was a bit warm, so we had the kitchen shed all to ourselves which was great. Facilities were basic but served us well. We also had the pool to ourselves which was lovely to cool down in. Slept in swags on gravel ground and was perfectly quiet overnight, just a few kangaroos hopping around.

We were privileged to be the first ever Hipcampers at Nikki's place. We were warmly welcomed to their farm and given lots of local info. We walked to the tower lookout on her farm and enjoyed one of the best views of the Flinders Ranges and Fitzgerald Bay. The flushing toilet and hot shower were sparkling clean. Leveling of caravans required, very peaceful and private spot.

I had a great stay and thank you to Alex for being so positive in opening up his property to motorcycle camping. I had the property to myself and found a great spot to pitch my tent. Campsite 11 had fantastic views across the valley and it was nice to sit back and watch the setting sun. I’ll definitely be planning another adventure.

Funnily we were drawn to the constant comments about how great the toilets were, and to be honest, they were incredible with festoon lights at night.

Nice and quiet setting amongst the trees with plenty of nature sounds around, good views of the sky for stargazing, good quality firewood available upon entry, and the amenities provided were excellent, water on site for dousing your firepit... loved spending a couple quiet nights there, will undwind regularly at Heggies hill bush camp in the future!
